Wildwood Flower

Everyone has secrets-even ministers. David gets a letter that reopens a situation that he thought he had left behind a long time ago. It’s a problem that could blow apart the life he has carefully constructed for many years.

Molly is adopted and has never felt that she fits into her adoptive family. When she looks for her birth parents she finds a great deal more than she expected!

This is a good, well-nuanced beach read that many readers would enjoy.

An interesting plot with appealing characters. The story took me to a different time and place and I love that.
Many thanks to The Book Whisperer and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was drawn to this story as I sounded like one I would like. While I did like David's character, I had a hard time getting into this book. It seemed to jump around often, so hard to keep track of who was who. Others might not have these issues, though. Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read the ARC.

If we could see the consequences of our actions before we take those last steps, say those last words, close that last door. As a young man, David Wilder never wanted the responsibilities his father held for him. He let his brother be that man while he enjoyed his youth and freedom. As he matured, he would become more reflective, eventually turning to God with the promise of helping others.
Growing up, she knew she was different. Her family kept her seperate, never quite the same. So Molly decides to trace her roots, not knowing she would find a whole new life for herself.
A good reading experience that reminds us that we are the sum of our actions and the past can and does define the future at some point.

An interesting story about lost family members who find one another. The strong message of perseverance and faith are very present.
The story moved very slowly and the pace could have been a bit faster.

Wildwood Flower by Anne Lovett tells the story of Reverend David Wilder what happened in the past and present. A good story about coming to terms with life decisions. I liked the story and the characters, their interactions and dialogue. I will recommend this book. Thank you for allowing me to review this book.

An interesting story, full of emotions, sad, angry, painful, happy, mournful. You name it and it is there. David grew up in a family where his father had high expectations of his 2 sons. He owned a bank and expected them to join him. One did, but the main character David had no interest all all…much preferred to go fishing!
After a heartbreaking incident when David was still quite young, his wealthy father disowned him. Largely because of the fact that he still refused to be a part of the banking system and decided to become a priest. Both were angry and couldn’t reconcile their differences.

David’s life was not easy, nor was his livelihood as a minister in a small country church, but he always stuck by his goal of helping others. Was it out of guilt? Or? A good summer read, very well written and hard to put down. I recommend it.

I wanted to like this book, and found the cover, title, and premise intriguing. However, the story and it's pace could not hold my attention and I had no desire to continue reading. Since my review is not positive, I won't be promoting it on Amazon or other sites, only here for the publisher to receive the feedback. Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I read the entire book but it was a chore….Peyton Place with religion. Sorry but this book is sappy and quite predictable.
