Great thriller, and kinda funny too! Never heard of the author but gave the story a try and really enjoyed it, the plot, characters, all of it. Highly recommend! Thank you NetGalley for this ARC

This is a wild story and definitely had to get into, but once you do it is entertaining. However I don’t think I’m the target audience for a book that’s got such graphic and dark humor.

The book starts out with a woman being abducted and held in a basement. From there the story gets a little wild! I did not care for the lesbian references and don’t think they added anything to the story. Our main character is saved from the basement by a woman with secrets. Together they search for the man and the story weaves around with travels and other characters involved in tracking the man who is believed to be a serial killer. lots of close calls and heroic escapes made this book exciting and entertaining!
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy.

This is exactly the kind of book I needed! Thrillers/mystery are always my go-to read, but I’ve been getting burnt out with all the super dark/depressing plots. This was the perfect serial killer murder meets comedy. The writing was great and kept everything rather lighthearted for its genre. I devoured every word and couldn’t stop until I read it all! One of my favorite reads of the year so far for sure.

It took me a little time to get into this book. For a story that starts with a woman being abducted and sexually assaulted (not graphically) by a serial killer, it had a weird lighthearted tone. That tone mainly holds up throughout the book, even when things get more dire, By the end I decided I liked the balance. It worked well, and it was kind of nice that the story wasn't bogged down with terror and dread despite everything that's happening. If you suspend your disbelief on the apparent supernatural abilities of the killer (and the vigilante) it's a fun, quick read despite the dark subject matter.
