I found this book very fun and engaging. I loved the character development and the world created in this book. Great fantasy romance.

Briony works for a Dr's office and can mysteriously heal. She is kidnapped and used as bait to bring back an evil witch and is saved by werewolf Hans whom she shares a mate bond. They have to work together to get rid of the evil witch and decide whether they want to solidify the mate bond. I expected a monster romance with lots of spice and was left feeling a bit disappointed as this was slow burn, not a lot of monster and it really dragged after the initial excitement.

Fate Awakened was a great fantasy read with;
Good characters and world building, dual POV, grumpy/sunshine, shifters, cockatrice, incubus, magicwielders, werewolves, necromancer, knotting and so much more!

I loved Hans and Briony, the two MC’s. The story itself was cool and charming, and had a lot of fantasy creatures which was fun to read about. The phasing of the story was also nice (not too slow).

This book really surprised me! I didn't think the plot was that compelling. I was expecting the classic monster romance with a lot of spicy 🌶 and few plot twists. Instead I found myself with exactly the opposite.

One thing I didn't like is the expectation at the beginning of the book regarding the spicy.
The first scene is very 🥵 and detailed, while the others are hastily written. The author should have done the opposite for create more suspense.

However the story is very interesting and the characters are well described.
The love story is well written apart from a few cringe scenes (e.g. the warewolf purring).
Anyway I absolutely recommend this book!

Am I the only one wishing this had more 🌶️? It started off 🥵 and then all we get is a bunch of tension throughout the first half of the book.
I feel the first 🌶️ scene was the best one, so I was hoping for more or spicier ones to come.

The plot was alright. Hans is really possessive over Briony but kinda plays hot and cold with her.

Wolfs purr?

There where some interesting parts, but I wasn’t sucked into the world and at times i got bored and speed read to get through parts.

I will be 100% honest, I pegged this book immediately as a cliche werewolf romance, but it genuinely surprised me, I mean there Definitely were some simplistic and almost predictable aspects but actually the plot was very exciting to read and the characters very well written and nicely distinctive!

Hans and Briony had an instantaneous connection, despite all the odds stacking against them, Briony was the sunshine to hans’ darkness,
He didn’t believe “mates” or true love and had always been a solitary creature but it turns out he just needed to Find the right woman,
Briony with her healing abilities had the power to heal his frozen heart “haw haw” and he was able to cure her loneliness and make her realize that sometimes people do stick around.

I thoroughly enjoyed this!

The only way to describe this properly is entertaining. This book was a quick read, with action, fantasy elements and of course werewolf (excuse me I meant vulk) romance.


Although it might seem intimidating at first due to the long dictionary of all the creatures/locations in the book and their abilities, the plot and the writing make it very easy to follow along.

I liked the plot for the most part, although in certain cases especially towards the end it seemed a bit TOO simplistic. The characters all had some personality traits that made them stand out and easy to remember, and apart from a few cringe worthy moments the romance between Hans and Briony was really interesting to read about.

This was a very nice weekend read. It kept my interest from the first chapter to the last chapter! A definite must read for fantasy romance readers!

This is a hidden gem seriously. I was captivated, unexpectedly. It was well written, very well done. The chemistry between Hans and Briony, i freaking loved it. This was such a great first book from this new author.

One of the SPICIEST books I have read in the fantasy genre!

The very first thing that kept my interest up is the unique world that was set up by the author. The creatures have different names even I can’t pronounce haha! The second that kept my interest is the chemistry between the main characters! I got really confused at first because I usually have a hard time reading books with so many characters introduced at the start so it took quite some time for me to remember their names.

I honestly didn’t expect that there would be a spicy scene at the beginning of the book so I liked that element of surprise but what I appreciate the most is that the plot is still there. I’ve always loved shifter books— specifically werewolf books and the mystery of Hans was a good factor that made me want to know more about his past and his need for vengeance. Now for Briony, I just wished she was a tad bit more fierce because I like when the female lead is a bad ass. The characters were good but can do more reshaping but the world fascinated me to no end.

Forced proximity has always been a must read trope for me so if you’re a fan of this specific trope the. don’t miss this and read it as soon as you can! Also, Adventure is one of the sub genre I am in love with and this book ✨SERVED✨

I was actually caught off guard by how much I loved this book. This is my first book by Jocelyn Montana, but it will absolutely not be the last. I even went to sign up for her newsletter, because you get a free book when you do. Now, Fate Awakened is the story of Hans and Briony. Hans is a Vulk (werewolf) who lives a solitary life because of things that happened in his past. Briony is a young woman who is lured from her village and thrown into Hans' path, in a very erotic way. They work together to hunt and stop their enemy. Secrets come out that alter their future. There are just so many things I like it will be impossible to do so without putting most of the book in my review. Just believe me when I say you will not be disappointed.

This book was a super fun, fast paced monster romance that hooked me right from the start! I really enjoyed the dynamic between Briony and Hans and I loved seeing their relationship develop over the book!

This book kicked off a series - so there was lots of world building and introduction of side characters as well! There were lots of little nuggets of teasers for future books dropped in there too, and I really hope that they all get a book eventually!

This book had some of my favorite tropes including size difference, fated mates, touch her and ☠️vibes, mutual pining, and monster/human smexy times! Both of the MCs struggle with their own previous trauma and it’s wonderful to see them grow throughout the book!

I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment in this series!! Overall 4 stars!!

Fate Awakened is a fantasy romance that combines magic, monsters, demons, action and mystery. I really enjoyed it, loved the characters & the world building, and look forward to the next book in the series.

So I want to start by saying that I am pretty sure the major reason I didn't vibe with this book, may be the reason someone else loves it. The fact that the main love interest was in animal form 24/7 was very weird for me, especially considering there were several steamy scenes. He is still humanoid (walks and talks like a human, etc.), but just keep this in mind before reading! With that said, the book/writing itself was really excellent. The world building was fantastic, the story line and writing was great, it was honestly a great book. If Hans had been a shifter in mostly human form and the steam level had been toned down a bit, this would have been a 4/5 star read for me! I am definitely interested in reading more by this author, and I have no doubt many many people will really enjoy this book!

This was definitely an interesting book, I didn't know what to expect but it was unexpectedly sweet. It wasn't quite my cup of tea but if you are looking for something steamy then this would be good.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I thought this books was going to be one thing and it turned into a lovely fantasy epic meets shifter romance.

The only reason it isn’t getting more stars is because the author made up their own language and it was super frustrating. Not that I haven’t read and enjoyed books where they make up fantasy words, they just usually also ease you into it. In this book it wasn’t always easy to extrapolate the meaning from context and I don’t think I should have to read a glossary before I read a book. I ended up flipping back and forth several times until I had most of the common words down but until then I considered just putting the book down. I’m glad I persevered, but I would understand if others did not.

This book blew me away! It reminded me of Wild Magic mixed with Lord of the Rings but with magic and mythical monsters and I was all for it! Nothing of this book disappointed me and Im hungry for the next segment of this world's story. This has the capacity to be a series like ACOTAR and I want more!
