My daughter and I had a lot of fun reading this book together, and we loved it a lot. The book is superb, as it goes into detail about different art tips and techniques, art tools that are recommended, and how to draw different wild animals, a few examples being African Elephant, Tiger and Giraffe.

My daughter's favourite animal was the tiger, and we had fun making tiger noises together, as well as other animal noises.

I highly recommend this book to all budding artists and also experienced artists, as whatever your skills, you will still learn something from this interesting, knowledgeable and useful art book.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

Interested in Drawing Wild Animals?
How2DrawAnimals presents "Let's Draw Wild Animals. Learn to draw a variety of wild animals step by step!" published by Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster. It is one of the books in the "Let's Draw ..." series which touches also other animals such as dogs, birds & butterflies, or dragons. The book starts with the basic information about "Tools & Materials" and "Drawing Basics". Then it offers ten step-by-step drawing for wild animals such as a Kangaroo, a Chimpanzee, an Alligator, or an African Elephant. There are also additional tips throughout the books touching topics such as "Shading", "Texture", "Eyes", or "Guide Lines".
It is a short book for children and beginners who want to learn to draw some wild animals and it only offers the drawings in black-grey-white (although more advanced students will have no problem to adapt the instructions for drawing with colors). I highly recommend this book for this group.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I received the book from netgalley for my honest review. This book has step by step to teach you how to draw wild animals. It is great fun for those learning to draw. It also teaches some about shading. My oldest daughter loves these books. She has been able to draw animals well instead of cartoon animals. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this but of the 4 "How to Draw Animals" books, I think this has the hardest drawings in it and perhaps isnt for beginner's in drawing as the level of detail needed is alot. It would still make a fantastic gift but maybe for the more experienced drawer

Let's Draw Dogs is a fun collection of drawing tutorials by How2DrawAnimals. Due out 16th Aug 2022 from Quarto on their Walter Foster Jr. imprint, it's 48 pages and will be available in paperback format.

For all the readers who grew up with the spin racks of technique booklets from Foster at their local stationery/art store, the format in this new series of books will be comfortingly familiar. The books begin with very basic overviews over tools and supplies and pencil techniques for light and shadow, shading, texture, and form.

There are 10 tutorials included in the book for a varied selection of dogs such as a German Shepherd, Corgi, Golden Retriever, poodle, an adorable Husky puppy and 5 more. Tutorials are easy to follow and show step by step refinements with new lines and shading included. The tutorials cover two pages each with 10 steps from simple shapes to finished, shaded drawing.

This would make a great gift for would-be artists of all ages. The included tutorials are varied and eclectic. There is a complete table of contents, so locating individual ones shouldn't be problematic. They're slanted toward pencil sketches, though colored pens, crayons, and watercolors could certainly be used to enhance the drawings.

Nice booklet, accessible for everyone.

Five stars. This would be a nice choice, bundled with some drawing supples, for a young artist. It would also do well for school or public library acquisition, home library, and even for adults/childminders/caregivers/teachers who want to up their "draw with me" game with their young charges.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

My 9 year old niece has been obsessed with learning to draw and these books were perfect for her! I especially appreciated the tips and tricks offered to new and experienced artists. I loved the variety given to draw, and there's something for everyone, no matter what your drawing experience.

Not only does this book go through drawing basics, but it gives step-by-step directions in 10-12 steps. It is intended for kids, but I think the types of drawing are kind of advanced. There are a variety of ypes of creatures within the book. It also gives a list of tools and materials needed to be successful.

This is the standard old fashioned drawing tutorial book with the shapes given -- first draw a circle and then lines here, and then erase these bits, and then add these bits, and then shade and color. The end does jump a bit from "here's a basic shape of a jaguar" to the next step of "here is my intricately photo-realistic shaded and detailed drawing of a jaguar" but it does do a good job of showing the drawing steps if you like this type of tutorial. It is in black and white with ten wild animals shown like a tiger, giraffe and elephant.

Like the other books in this series, this is a good basic drawing book -- short, easy to follow and affordable (under $10). The first four pages of each book have the same content recommending simple supplies like a number two pencil and give basic instructions on drawing the shapes, shading, adding detail, etc. The book is rather short but it's also inexpensive and should be easy for kids or adults to use successfully.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

Let's Draw Wild Animals is a fantastic guidebook for drawing 10 animals - my 7 year old's only complaint was that there is a big jump from the second last instruction to the final shading, and wished there were a few more steps to achieve a look similar to the book.

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster, Walter Foster Jr and Netgalley for this ARC!
