Good Night Tahoe is a wonderful children’s book written by Kevin Sullivan and Illustrated by Michael Furuya.

The book goes from A to Z and includes the Lake Tahoe area and includes word choices such as a gopher golfing and an owl off-roading. The illustrations are adorable and align perfectly with the verbiage for a fun and entertaining read.

Thank you to IBPA and NetGalley for this e-ARC.

Beautiful illustrations, taking the children on a journey and helping them to learn the alphabet. I believe this was only a chapter of the book, so my review can’t be exhaustive.

A beautifully illustrated book and well done for the most part, however I found it frustrating that x was an abbreviation.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for a gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

An adorable read for children that is perfect for bedtime. This book is filled with many wonderful animals and places as it takes you through the alphabet with a bedtimeq theme. The illustrations are beautifully done, with bright colours and cute animals. There are many funny moments for children to enjoy like exercising eagles and golfing gophers

What cute book. I read this to my niece before nap time. We were practicing ABC’s today so it was perfect read. She loved all the animals in the book.

This is an adorable read for children. The illustrations are beautiful and silly at times making my children laugh out loud. There are so many places and animals mentioned in the book which captured my children's attention.
I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to Beary Tahoe, Kevin Sullivan and Netgalley for this ARC!

This book is so cute! I'm a nanny to a 2 and 5-year-old so I read many children's books. My kiddos go on plenty of family vacations to national parks and other natural places, which is what sparked my interest to check out this cute little ABC book. The art style is very nice and I love the variety of animals and places listed. My favorite page was the raccoon for R.

This is a charming bedtime story which cycles through the alphabet, wishing a good night to the places and creatures of Lake Tahoe. Children who are not familiar with Tahoe may be confused since many of the locations mentioned are very specific — they may wonder, “what is Vikingsholm?” If they’ve never been there. But if they have spent some time in Tahoe, they’ll likely be happy to see familiar landmarks pointed out throughout the story. As a kid who spent my summers in Tahoe, I would have been!

A very good book that does a heck of a lot more than I would have wanted to set myself as a challenge. It’s a lullaby, it’s an A-Z, it’s an animal book, and it’s a tribute to the Lake Tahoe region. Every letter gets not one but four things – a wording appropriate to the act of wishing someone goodnight, a place, and an animal doing something there. You see what I mean if I quote the cutest visual – “very sweet dreams, Vikingholm, and the vole vacationing”. There is what I assume to be Vikingholm, and the vole on a twiggy little lounger under a mushroom sun canopy.

I have to assume all the representations of the sites and all the specific critters are fine, and they certainly look great, with that CG cartoon sheen you get from digitally-created art. This will mean little outside Lake Tahoe (or the souvenir bags of visitors with youngsters), but as a gift book for those in the region this hits every spot. And to that select audience, I hope they appreciate the effort in what looks an easy accomplishment. It couldn’t have been, which is why I give this five full stars, as all books that clearly go above and beyond deserve.

I didn't know there were this many activities or animal types in the Tahoe area. I enjoy the way that it stayed so close to having 3 things in the same alphabet letter. I do with there was a little more rhyme to it, but I don't know how that could have been accomplished.

This is one of the best alphabet stories I’ve read! I love the alliteration, the animals, different sights and travel destinations featured in each alphabet. I thought it was really clever - my favorite has to be the snake snowboarding!

Good Night, Tahoe
4.5

This is a great, toddler age picture book. I loved the bright and colorful illustrations; they're so charming and fun. As a parent, I'm excited Good Night, Tahoe is filled with good educational opportunities to engage our little ones. Such as, learning ABC's, phonics, animals, and summer and winter activities. This book is also a good resource for children with speech issues, like developmental delays or verbally apraxia. This book isolates each letter, for example, Rest, Reno and the raccoon rafting.
It's pretty neat, it's possible to take a trip to Lake Tahoe and see these animals in person and try some fun activities at the lake. That said, I don't think I'd use this book to put my child to sleep. The pictures aren't muted enough for nighttime(imo) and the animals are doing some pretty interesting, and attention grabbing stuff for bedtime. Though I'd highly recommend this book for pre-k & kindergarteners teachers, speech therapists, and it's a great choice for any library. A great hidden gem.

Thank you, NetGalley and (IBPA), for an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Adorable Goodnight Alphabet book. Love the illustrations, off-roading owl cracked me up. Combination of cities in and around Tahoe and the local wildlife would be great for any kid, but especially one who lives in or has visited the area

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book! Below is my honest review.

Summary of plot:
The reader goes on an "alliterative alphabetical adventure before bedtime" to see how all the creature at Lake Tahoe are getting ready to sleep.

Pros about the book:
✔️ Very cute drawings
✔️ Creative alliterative

Cons about the book:
❌ Not sure how it's time for bed but the background of a lot of the scenes have a lot of light (indicating that it's not bed time? Maybe some of these animals are nocturnal?)

Would I recommend this book? Yes!

I feel this is a great book for families who live in, or have ties to, the Reno/Tahoe area. I personally do not know enough about the area and found it therefore (maybe) less enjoyable. My toddler -who I test these type or books on- found the pictures hilarious, especially the Snake snowboarding! This book is as an alphabet practice book, however not my first choice. there are other (in my opinion) nicer/better options out there. Each page features a letter, place, animal, and activity using the featured letter. Which helps them them form sentences and see other words with the same letters. The illustrations are vivid and detailed. They did definitely engage my little gremlin and I feel other young readers might feel the same and therefore hold their attention a little longer.

I love the illustrations of this book, the animals are so lively and a pleasure to look at.

It is an alphabet book with a different animal and place for each letter. A great hook for teaching about alliteration, and expanding children's vocabulary. Children could be inspired to write their own version.

I am currently looking for books that I could add to my niece's collection.

Wow I love this cover. The illustrations are so beautiful.

I love that each page starts with a letter of the alphabet. It would be a great educational book for kids

How cute is this book? If there was a better book to be sold in every gift shop in the Reno/ Lake Tahoe area I would be shocked. The book uses every letter of the alphabet to describe an area and an animal to say good night. The illustrations are calming and so cute.

Such a cute book. I read this to my 13-month-old son, and he was very interested. Loved how the animals and places were arranged alphabetically. Very clever!
