All of Des Moines has been buzzing with Abby Jimenez's recent visit, so I figured it was time to revisit the second in the romance series/universe after Part of Your World. This novel focuses on ER doctor Briana Ortiz, whose brother needs a kidney transplant. Enter new doctor Jacob Maddox. They do not hit it off and struggle to communicate. I'm so glad we got to have them both as narrators, as their inability communicate could have driven me mad. Instead, they wrote each other letters and notes, which I loved. I adore hospital dramas on tv and wish we got more books set in the them. I'm an advocate for organ donation, and I appreciate Jimenez using her platform to raise awareness for it. Yours Truly is by far my favorite Jimenez yet.

I don't know how but Abby Jimenez continues to get better and better with each book she writes. This may be my new favorite (after The Happy Ever After Playlist... That is my number 1). She writes such deep, complex and REAL characters. Bri feels like she could be my friend in real life. They face real, relatable problems and struggles and react in realistic ways. We see Bri having a fear of commitment and getting hurt and Jacob and his anxiety disorder. Jacob's anxiety is portrayed with utmost respect and with the intent to make it as accurate and realistic as possible. You can truly feel the turmoil they go through. Abby always writes a strong story, but the messiness of daily life is never excluded, in fact it is highlight and that helps make it so realistic.. Jacob and Bri's connection and foundation are built on making a point to understand the other and meeting each other where they are.

Yours Truly is another fantastic read from Abby Jimenez. She never fails to write relatable characters that you'd love to meet in real life. I love everything about this book.

Abby Jimenez is one of my favorite authors for a reason, and Yours Truly is another reason why! I have read all of her books, and they are always some of my most anticipated books each year. I absolutely fell in love with Briana and Jacob. Their story was heartwarming, emotional, a little frustrating at times, but absolutely worth it in the end! In true Abby fashion, I laughed, I cried, and my heart was buoyed. There’s always a little nugget of wisdom woven into her books that I always look forward to.
I love to read Abby’s books with audio and physical because I usually cannot stop reading, but the audiobooks are always SO well done. I can just immerse myself in them.
If you haven’t read a book by Abby Jimenez yet, DO IT! Highly recommend in any format!
Thank you to Netgalley and Forever for the gifted copy.

I don’t say this lightly but this is the best book I’ve ever read. For the first time, I saw my own experience with anxiety reflected in a main character, and I didn’t realize how much I needed that. It felt like the author truly saw me, and that connection hit hard. This story made me cry, both the joyful and the heartbreaking kind of tears. I deeply appreciate any book that can make me feel so intensely, no matter if those emotions are light or heavy. I absolutely adored Jacob and Briana <3

Classic Abby Jimenez. Lovely book. Love that the characters are in the same world as her previous books! Keeps me invested in how their stories turn out

A romance with a twist. Two accomplished doctors both have emotional issues that the story deals with in an intelligent and compassionate manner. .

This book was a delight. I did not read this series in order but still enjoyed every bit. I also worked for this publisher when this book was published ◡̈

There's something about smart, driven characters in medical professions that always adds an extra layer of intrigue to a story. Plus, having both of them navigate their tough relationship histories—Briana going through a divorce and Jacob dealing with the added complication of his ex marrying his brother—sets the stage for a deeply emotional and intense romance. It’s definitely the kind of setup that makes you want to root for them, and Jacob seems like the type of guy we’d all want in our corner.
Jacob being described as the "sweetest, most wholesome book boyfriend" is so heartwarming, and I love that Abby Jimenez made his anxiety such a central part of his character. It's refreshing to hear that his anxiety was portrayed realistically. I’m always drawn to stories where mental health is handled with care, and it sounds like it was done really well here, making Jacob feel even more relatable and real.
That being said, I totally get why the conflict might have been a bit frustrating. Miscommunication-driven conflicts can definitely be a bit of a hit or miss for readers, especially if it feels like the issue could’ve been solved with a straightforward conversation. However, it’s good to know that the conflict fit with the characters' backstories, which always makes it a little more forgivable, even if it’s a bit exasperating to read at times.
Abby Jimenez clearly knows how to write compelling, emotional stories, and it sounds like *Just For The Summer* is one you’re really looking forward to! Her writing definitely seems to have that ability to hook readers and leave them excited for more.

i have tried to read abby jimenez so many times just to be disappointed an on a reading slump last book i’ll ever read from her

Enjoyable, witty, and romantic, in true Abby Jimenez fashion! Not my #1 of hers, but super fun nevertheless!

Abby Jimenez is always an auto read for me and this one didn’t fail to meet my love for her writing. Love being part of her readerdom!

I truly just love all of Abby's books and Yours Truly is an absolute gem. eEqual parts heart-melting, funny, and deeply emotional. Jacob? Total dreamboat. He’s sweet, thoughtful, and his vulnerability makes him even more lovable. The way his anxiety is portrayed feels so real and adds so much depth to his character. I felt so seen!!!

JACOB IS LITERAL PERFECTION!!
It’s been a long time since I’ve cried so hard reading a book. Abby can do no wrong.

And I thought the art of letter writing had been lost. And then Ms. Jimenez creates Dr. Jacob Maddox - the letter writing doctor you can’t help but fall in love with. Lunch dates in supply cupboards, letter writing and organ donations - this book as everything needed for a good love story.

I loved this book!!!! Everything Abby writes is fantastic and this one was just as amazing!!! I loved these characters and their dynamic!!! It totally tugged at my heartstrings !!

One of my favorite Abby Jimenez books!!!! My heart was so happy, I laughed, I cried, and then I read it all over again. Abby takes such important issues and addresses them so eloquently. I really really appreciated the way the anxiety was represented. As someone who has anxiety, I felt for Jacob so much and it was SO accurate. Jacob was everything I am so obsessed with him. This book was angsty, heartfelt, hilarious and I’m still thinking about it long after I closed the book. Cannot recommend it enough!!

Abby Jimenez is an absolute gem - her writing is always so whip smart and heartlfelt. I loved the mental health representation. I absolutely adored this book, and look forward to devouring her next book

I am truly convinced that Abby can do no wrong when it comes to writing a book. Loved Briana & Jacob, and loved this story!

Jimenez is quite possibly my favorite author. I read everything she writes and even had the opportunity to visit her cupcake shop in Minnesota last summer to get signed books and signature cupcakes.
