The way I wanted to read this book again immediately after finishing it. Its like a warm hug that you just want to lose yourself in. The book starts with ER doctor Brianna Ortiz having to reassure the nurses that the new ER doctor, Jacob Maddox, is not Dr. Death. Which is made more difficult when he loses his seventh patient of the day. To make matters worse the chief is considering Dr. Death as the new chief once he retires, not Brianna. Then to top it all of he is rude! Brianna is angry and doesn't have time for drama or the boys club she works with, she has a chief of staff position to win and a brother who desperately needs a kidney transplant.

Then one day a letter appears for her from none other than Jacob. Se begins to learn more about him and suspects that he may be a better person than she had harshly judged him to be. That is confirmed when he finds out he is a donor match for Bri's brother and wants to anonymously donate. He doesn't want the attention it will bring just to ease Bri's troubles in any way he can. Even though Bri wasn't supposed to know she finds out who the donor is and is so appreciative of this she agrees to be his date to his brother and ex girlfriends wedding.

As they get to know each other through their fake dating charade they begin to understand that maybe its not a charade anymore.

This past spring I picked up my first Abby Jimenez novel, Part of Your World. and realized about halfway through the book that I would need to revisit her backlist and seek new titles as they were published. My excitement for the follow-up, Yours Truly, was immense. I couldn't wait to dive back into the lives of the characters I met (and fell in love with) in Part of Your World.

Unfortunately, Yours Truly missed the mark for me. While I liked getting to know Briana more and found Jacob to be a lovable lead, the book felt entirely too long. I also became frustrated that their entire conflict resulted from a lack of communication, which also persisted for entirely too long. This trope is agonizing for me as an adult, as this sort of behavior is more common among young love. It quickly pushes me away as a reader.

This was a disappointing romance for me after the love I had for Part of Your World (5 stars), but it has certainly not squashed my desire to read more from Jimenez, who writes great characters.

This was such a great story. A workplace romance. Briana has sworn off men, understandably so with her history. She has decided to dedicate herself to her career. In walks Dr. Death (aka Dr. Jacob Maddox), another front runner for the job she wants and the get off on the wrong foot. But, thanks to a lovely written apology, it sparks a beautiful friendship and lots of messages passed back and forth. But could it lead to more? There are a bunch of my favorite tropes in this book, and I absolutely enjoyed every moment of reading it. Headed to buy a physical copy because I need this one on my shelf, and a possible reread soon!

I LOVED this book! I thought the storyline between Briana and Jacob was fire and it wasn't necessarily what I was expecting to read. I thought the building of their relationship was so sweet and it made me want to get a pen pal lol.

This is my favorite Abby Jimenez since The Friend Zone! She really recaptured the magic and spark between her characters with this one. I both cried and laughed out loud throughout this entire book. It's been a while since I've read a romance this good!

Really enjoyed this well written book by Abbey Jimenez. Even though the premise of the book is based around an overused storyline (fake dating), I really enjoyed the character development and felt like I was hanging out with them during their conversations! That's when you know the author did a good job with character development. I was completely hooked on this book and rooting for my man, Jacob. And before I knew it, I had read this book in a couple days! Highly recommend this fun, reading escape.

I thank the author, publisher and Netgalley for my ARC of this book.

There was not a thing I didn't love about this book, the characters, the plot and mental health aspect.

If there is anything you do this year, Please read this book, you won't be disappointed. I will be gifting this book to all of my bookish and non-bookish friends this year!

Yours Truly
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Author: Abby Jimenez

I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

My Thoughts: I was so excited to read this book, having had a glimpse of Bri in the previous book. This is book No. 2 in the Part of Your World Series. Bri is having a really hard year. Her divorce is finalizing from the two time cheater, cheating with her good friend. Then her brother needs a kidney transplant to survive, with no family members being a match. Then she has another doctor starting at the hospital, who is personally selected for the position she has been pining over. The author does an amazing job with the mental health categorization in the book and does it with such grace.

The story is narrated by both Bri and Jacob, in a dual narration. I love how this love story begins with letters and evolves into a friendship, and then even more. Bri is a strong, independent woman, who is very mistrustful of men. Jacob has an anxiety disorder, once you can break his shell, he is the most sweet, caring, and compassionate man. The characters are wonderfully developed with depth, witty banter, amazing chemistry, and creative. I love the update from our Part of World couple. The supporting characters were also developed so well. The descriptions and detail put into this book really immerses you into the storyline. The author’s writing style is complex, multifaceted, swoony, and just brilliant. The only negative for me was Bri’s mistrust in men almost sabotaged this beautiful relationship, and I know she was written that way, just a little lighter on that would have made this book perfect.

Jimenez is one of my favorite romance authors and I have read all of her books except for one. I HIGHLY recommend this book AND this series! Go now and buy, or borrow from your library. I always go through Jimenez’s books very quickly, they are that good.

This was okay, I am not a huge fan of the vague characters with sensory/communication struggles also in line with ASD without it being described as so.

This was another amazing book from Abby Jimenez. I loved all of the anxiety rep. I have anxiety & PTSD & the book really helped me feel seen in many ways. I love how Abby is always able to mix humor with such heavy topics & also allow romance in.

Jacob Maddox is everything a girl could want in a man. Soft but strong. Shy but determined. Ultimately, just a man with a selfless heart that would do anything for anyone, especially the woman he loved. Brianna Ortiz has been through her share of heartache. More often than she can count, she has been let down by the men she has let into her life. I loved seeing this relationship unfold and the push and pull to realizing their true feelings for each other. This book covered many worthy topics such as anxiety and depression, familial sickness, adultery, loss of a child, and overcoming adversity.

What didn't work or me was the miscommunication...for two people who really didn't seem to have trouble speaking their minds, they certainly spent a lot of time "assuming" what the other was thinking and feeling about their relationship.

I really enjoyed this one even if it wasn't my absolute favorite, but hey, not every book can be the absolute favorite. I love Abby Jimenez books and can't wait for the next!

Yours Truly was such a sweet and emotionally charged romance! I love a good first impressions are not who they are trope and Abby Jimenez hit it out of the park with Jacob. He was so sweet and swoony. Seriously, this man's name is under the definition of a cinnamon role. Briana's story was beautiful and I was not prepared to feel all the emotions that this book has. Loved every bit of this story!

Another great Abby Jimenez book. I will say, I found myself really falling in love with the characters towards the end of the book when things were really starting to get tense between the two of them. The first half of the book, while important to the story, didn't really hold my attention as much. I definitely couldn't put the book down for the last chunk though.

This was a top read for me in 2023. The anxiety representation was so well done, Briana and Jacob were so sweet with each other and so understanding and so SUPPORTIVE. It was such a beautiful read and I think everyone needs to dive into this one!

Excellent read.

A great romance novel with all types of feelings. I love how well Jimenez wrote the MC: a complex woman who finds love even though it isn't easy.

Super fun to read.

I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.
