Wow! I finished this book last night and still have all the feels. The author addresses several mental and physical health challenges, including kidney disease, organ donation, anxiety, depression, loss, abandonment, lack of trust, infidelity, divorce.... It seems like too much, but it is masterfully handled. There is laughter and light-heartedness to balance the serious. Bri and Jacob's journeys are both heartbreaking and inspiring. You'll route for them time and time again.

Jacob may be my all-time favorite book boyfriend. He does not fit the traditional mold. He is a cinnamon role - so sweet, so empathetic and caring. I just absolutely adored everything about him. I especially loved the epistolary romance. Letter writing is truly a lost art and it was fun to see Jacob and Bri connect through them.

Bri is a pretty great character too. She really understood Jacob when many others didn't. I loved all the little things she did to ease Jacob's anxiety. Bri had a few blindspots, but it all becomes clearer as her story unfolds,

These two fit together with all their broken pieces like a mosaic. Beautifully.

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever for an advanced reader copy.

I highly recommend Yours Truly. Pre-order it! You will not be disappointed.

Abby is back with another five star read that balances heart and humor all too perfectly.

The story centers around Brianna, Alexis’s best friend in Part of Your World, and Jacob, her new coworker at the hospital’s ER. Both are recovering from recent heartache, grappling with their mental health and dealing with their own family struggles. I give Abby so much credit as a writer for the way she handles these tougher topics and integrates coping strategies, such as journaling and meditating, into the story.

Alexis and Jacob were two cleverly crafted, lovable main characters that were made for each other. From the note passing at work, to the hour long phone calls and supply closet lunches, the slow burn progression of their relationship and all the angst made me understand them as individuals as well as together. The supporting characters added a lot of depth and fun to the story, especially Jacob’s meddling family and the scene with Alexis/ Daniel from POYW. I will say that a big chunk of the book was centered around a miscommunication, which is my least favorite trope and made me a bit frustrated in the moment. I literally wanted to shake the characters. However, Abby being the wonderful writer she is, did make the trope work in the long run, as it was easy to see how Brianna and Jacob’s individual insecurities and past relationships affected the other from confrontation.

Read if you like:
-Slow burn romances
-Friends to lovers, fake dating and forced proximity
-Social anxiety and chronic illness rep
-Emotional support dogs and hysterical parrots
-Meddling families
-Main chatacters who are doctors

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the ARC!! Pub date 4/11/23

This is literally the best book I've ever read.

This book is about Briana, an ER doctor, and Jacob, a new ER doctor at the hospital she works at. (If you have read "Part Of Your World", this book is about Alexis' best friend.) They get off on the wrong foot, but quickly get on the right foot so I wouldn't say this is enemies to lovers. It's definitely more friends to lovers because they grow such a beautiful friendship as the book progresses.

Jacob struggles with anxiety, and you really see how he deals with it and his thought processes. I've never read a book with a main character who struggles with anxiety, and I felt like I could relate to it so much. I really understood him, and it made me drawn to him. He is literally the best book boyfriend ever, and I don't know how Abby Jimenez does it. I loved the quiet, more reserved, hero. He isn't trying to be a hero, but that's just who he is. Bri is spunky and fun but also has some struggles with a recent divorce. The way they become close and help each other was so special to read, and I felt so comforted and attached to them. I want to immediately reread this book because it touched me so much.

Ultimately, this book reminded me that love always shows up. No matter what. When you love someone, you never give up on them. I feel lucky that I got to read such a beautiful story, especially before it even comes out!

Ps: Jacob's dog Lieutenant Dan omg! I'm obsessed

Everyone go preorder this book immediately because you will be better after reading it.

Thank you thank you thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing), NetGalley, and the author for an early copy of this book!

Another 5 star book by Abby! Abby brings awareness to serious medical issues and evokes all your emotions. She weaves in people and situations from past books and her real life.
Bri and Jacob start of as a bet and slowly find out how much they need each other. I laughed and cried through the whole book.

I received an advanced reader copy from NetGalley.

I got an advanced copy of Yours Truly and needless to say, I was ecstatic. Every time I sit down with one of Abby’s books, I always think there’s no way she could outdo the last book; and every time I stand corrected.

Yours Truly is written about Briana and Jacob - an unlikely friendship that was so well developed and you won’t find two people who better understand each other. They understand and defend each other in good times and in bad. You feel the frustration throughout the book for these two people who would do anything for the other person but they get lost in their own head and miscommunication - which is honestly so relatable. In the end, love shows up. Even when you don’t want to admit it.

I adored this love story.

Abby Jimenez does it again and leaves you smiling, laughing, and wiping tears through the course of her books. Yours Truly gives us fake dating fun between Bri and Jacob as they get over past relationships and navigate commitment issues and anxiety. This book is full of heart and humor as we get hilarious pets, sweet letters, loving family, and several Abby Jimenez inside jokes thrown in.

I loved it — preorder now or pick it up when it hits shelves in April 2023.

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed Abby Jimenez's previous novel (Part of Your World) so much that as soon as I saw Yours Truly pop up on NetGalley, I requested it immediately! And I was lucky enough to be approved. AND the main characters from that novel appear in this one. For romance fans, this book is a slam-dunk. I related to so much about how Briana described her first marriage and the heartache of divorce, and how Briana and Jacob are each able to understand and come to terms with what went wrong in their previous relationships. "If you're with someone who doesn't speak your language, you'll spend a lifetime having to translate your soul."

So good. I read this book in a day and a half.

Another absolutely AMAZING book by Abby! I don’t know how she can bring such awareness to such difficulty topics and still hit the ball out of the park with the romcom love story. Can’t wait for the next one!! <3

Briana’s story was so good! The tension between these two! The slow burn! I’m incredibly partial to fake dating, and this was an excellent rendition of it. In fact there were several classic tropes, like miscommunication and of COURSE one bed. Yours Truly was truly a good time. Jacob was such a cinnamon roll, gentle and sweet enough to weather some pretty serious trauma with Briana. Also who doesn’t love a man who has gone to therapy and is taking care of his mental health? It was so refreshing to read about a male love interest who was aware of and actively caring for his mental illness. And of course the happy ending was just as satisfying as you could hope for. The only reason I’m not giving it the full five stars is because I personally despise surprise babies, but if that’s your kind of thing you will love the way Jimenez handles it!

Thank you, Forever Publishing and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Abby has such a knack for talking about challenging health and mental health issues in her books in a compassionate way. Each book is a little different, and I love that.

I loved this book so much. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, so I was here for this! Watching Brianna’s and Jacob grow and deal with their traumas together was stunning. I was so able to relate to both of them.

I absolutely will be reading this one again!

This is my favorite Abby book yet (I say that every time)! Had to read it twice, I was too excited the first time and couldn't put it down, even we'll after I should have been sleeping.
As always, I laughed and cried and then cried some more.
I knew we'd get Alexis and Daniel from the "universe" but loved the Easter eggs back to the other books as well. And a sneaky little real life references (dickswitch, cockcuterie).
Bri and Jacob are perfect for each other, but so drastically different. Love the dynamic of her "bulldog" protectiveness over him in the family situations. And the letters...swoon!
Jacob's anxiety definitely hit home for me--googling everything before public interaction, obsessing years later over a conversation that probably meant nothing to the other person.

I have yet to read one of Abby's books that didnt make me laugh out loud. BUT this one almost made me cry. I love the emotions she evokes thru banter & vulnerability.

After every release, I always deem THAT man to be the one who has all the best traits of someone I aspire to be with. Jacob had me hooked after he wrote the first letter. WHO doesn't love receiving handwritten letters?!

I loved how Bri & Jacob fell into such an easy pattern with each other and how they helped one another out of their weak moments. I do kind of feel like Jacob conceded more to help curb Bri's insecurities. But love shows up.

Yours Truly is a must read.

I’ve read and absolutely loved all of Abby Jimenez’s previous books. She has a unique way of making you laugh, cry, empathize and feel so much for her characters. Once I start any of her books, I just can’t put them down and Yours Truly was absolutely no exception to that. Before Yours Truly, both the Friend Zone and the Happy Ever After Playlist were my favorite books by Abby Jimenez. But now, Yours Truly is my number 1. To draw some parallels, Briana is every bit as witty, protective and independent as Kristen, and just as strong as Sloan. Jacob is even more vulnerable and hilarious than Josh and his relationship with his dog is even cuter than that between Jason and Tucker. Briana and Jacob from Yours Truly are such an incredible duo and you will totally fall in love with them! Also, The mental health focus in this book is also so powerful and impactful.

More than anything, I need to say that Jacob isn’t just my new favorite hero of Abby’s books, but for me he’s up there with Atlas Corrigan (from It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover) for best book boyfriends. This endorsement is HUGE and I never thought I would meet a character that would rival Atlas’ greatness. Jacob is kind, selfless, vulnerable, and thoughtful all while being completely swoonworthy. He is so real and relatable and so giving and sincere. Deep diving into his struggles with anxiety was both so easy to relate to and so hard to see him go through. The obsession with Jacob is real, so buckle up and get ready for his awesomeness!! Mark your calendars and run to pre-order Yours Truly now!

Wow! Abby did it again, and I couldn't be happier. This was another one evening read for me, as I could not put this down. The way Abby tackles tough subjects with such grace and empathy (and of course HUMOR!) never ceases to amaze me. Each book gets better and better.

Abby's character development is spot on, and I always feel like I am right in the thick of everything with them.We met Bri in Abby's last book, Part of Your World, and best friend to Alexis. Yours Truly is Bri's story, and is absolutely phenomenal. We also meet Jacob, whose experience with anxiety resonated so strongly with me.

I absolutely cannot recommend this enough! Thank you to Abby and her publisher for granting me this ARC to read and review ahead of it's highly anticipated release date.

First of all, I was completely surprised when I got the chance to read this book ahead! I was having withdrawals from Daniel and Alexis so i decided to re-read it because I missed them… I finished yesterday and got this! Couldn’t believe it.

Abby did such and amazing job here! Bri and Jacob made me smile, crack up and cry all on the span of the 4 hours that took me to finish this book.

It has that beautiful thing that makes you smile and remember how you fell in love or when your heart broke for the first time… but it also repeatedly shows you that we’re all a mosaics made with pieces of all the things and people we’ve met throughout our life, the bad and good things (yes, Jacob I loved that).

Anyway, it goes deep into what anxiety feels like (I could see my husband reflected on it) and it approaches lots of things that sometimes we don’t want to deal with. But it’s such a funny and sweet story. I swear to god the only thing that could’ve make this book even better is if Chloe appears wearing pajamas at some point! Or Jafar Chasing her!

Honestly, I'm a fan of anything Abby Jimenez but I didn't think that she'd be able to outdo 'Part of Your World'. Every book she comes out with is amazing and slightly better than the last. Yours Truly is my new favorite! I love how Abby created a male love interest that is both strong and sexy but also vulnerable and open about his mental health. It's things like these that make her books so relatable and so so so good. I devoured this book in one sitting and I will be reading it again soon to catch anything I missed. So glad this amazing world she has created is expanding and I can't wait to see what's next - maybe the story of Jane and BEN? :)
