feel like I say this every time But Abby Jimenez gets better with every single book. Brianna Ortiz is a 35 year old divorcee, ER doctor with a brother who is in renal failure. Jacob Maddox is an also 35 year old ER doctor who is almost too anxious to function. they get off on the wrong foot in the beginning, as one does usually. And then Jacob writes her letter. I just want to say that the art of writing the letter needs to make a return. We have fake dating, we have crazy families. (I want more of Benny and Jane) and we have Alexis and Daniel and Grant House! They are two 30-somethings who are trying to get a second chance at love after failed previous relationships. There is good, old fashioned falling in love over time. The anxiety representation is top notch. At times I thought how did she get into my head? Abby is writing books to grow into and I’m thrilled to be along for the ride.

tl;dr Do you enjoy Romance and an amazing HEA? Excellent - then grab a copy of this book ASAP! Preorder for release in 2023, or if you are reading this in the misty future, snap up a copy!

Briana Ortiz is a character we met in Abby Jimenez's last book, Part of Your World (another book I highly recommend!). Bri is a feisty ER doc who takes BS from exactly NO ONE, EVER. She's struggling a bit at our start because she is dealing with the fallout of a failed marriage - her jerk of a husband cheated on her.

Jacob Maddox is also an ER doc, who is just starting a new job at the same Emergency Department as Briana. He has some social anxiety and is extremely introverted. Unfortunately this means he sometimes sticks his foot in his mouth... like the first time he quite literally bumps into Briana. Sparks don't quite fly, but his phone does!

Abby Jimenez has done it again, y'all. Briana's inner monologue had me quite literally cackling in places, and Jimenez's sharp wit is on display in the entire novel. Her dialogue is so fun to read! I completely empathized with both main characters for different reasons - a feat that I don't find as often as I'd like in the Romance genre. Jacob is earnest, kind, loyal, and unflinchingly generous; often this leaves a character flat and uninteresting, but he vaults off the page and into the reader's heart. Bri is exactly my kind of petty, too. Her revenge on her ex is *chef's kiss.* The secondary characters are fantastic and add so much depth to the story. I wish I could read a book for each of them! Lastly, Jimenez seems to always examine a part of the human experience you may not expect - in previous novels she has looked at abuse, terminal illness, infertility, and more. In Yours Truly she helps the reader to see chronic illness, live organ donation, as well as anxiety. She does so in a thoughtful, well-researched way.

All in all, I recommend this book 3,000 - you will absolutely not regret it! 5 out of 5 stars for sure.

My thanks to Forever and NetGalley for the ARC to read. My opinions and thoughts are all mine, precious!

This is another fantastic entry by this author. She goes in-depth on real-life issues, and utilizes qualified sounding boards in her resources to write factual material in a way that draws you in and makes you care about her characters, their lives, and their journeys. Her writing is down-to-earth, hilariously funny, and soul-burningly gorgeous. If you love romance that you can see happening in real life, you will not be disappointed.
