This was a fun easy read about love and finding your perfect mate. Two ER doctors become really close and things start to progress. Dr Briana Ortiz’s life is changing with divorce and her brother Benny who needs a kidney donation. Dr Jacob Maddox shows up to work in the ER and things start to happen. He secretly finds out that he is a match. He has a list of his own problems. They begin a fun dating game and fell madly in love with each other. A definite must read for the summer.

Yours Truly was a fun and entertaining summer read in the rom-com genre. Things I loved... I loved the characters. Briana was a firecracker and Jacob was a sweetheart. The secondary characters were interesting as well. The writing was witty and fast paced. Things that were so-so for me...I found parts of the story predictable, and the fake dating trope gets a bit old and overdone.
I appreciated the author's note at the end. I loved how she shared her personal experiences and how they impacted some of the themes from this story.
Definitely pick up this book to read this summer!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book.

In Yours Truly, Abby Jimenez crafts a touching and emotionally resonant story that explores the complexities of love, grief, and second chances. With her signature blend of wit, heart, and raw emotions, Jimenez creates a compelling narrative that keeps readers engaged from start to finish.
One of the strengths of this book is Jimenez's ability to create authentic and relatable characters. The protagonist, whose journey is at the heart of the story, is a well-rounded and complex individual. The struggles she faces and the emotional hurdles she must overcome are portrayed with sensitivity and realism. Supporting characters, too, are given depth and purpose, adding layers to the overall narrative.
The romance in Yours Truly is beautifully developed, filled with tender moments and genuine chemistry. Jimenez excels at capturing the rollercoaster of emotions that come with falling in love, and she does so with a refreshing mix of humor and vulnerability. The dynamic between the main characters is organic and heartfelt, allowing readers to root for their happiness.
The book also tackles the theme of grief with sensitivity and care. Jimenez explores the different ways people cope with loss, and how it can affect relationships and personal growth. The emotional depth of the story is palpable, as the characters navigate through their pain, healing, and finding hope again. This exploration of grief adds a layer of depth and poignancy to the narrative.
Jimenez's writing style is engaging and witty, making the book a breeze to read. The dialogue is sharp and laced with humor, providing moments of levity amidst the more emotional scenes. The pacing is well-managed, with a balance between introspection and forward momentum, keeping readers invested in the characters' journeys.
While Yours Truly is a heartfelt and enjoyable read, there are a few instances where the plot feels slightly predictable. Certain twists and turns follow familiar patterns, which may be anticipated by readers well-versed in the romance genre. However, the emotional depth and authenticity of the characters make up for this minor drawback.
In summary, Yours Truly is a touching and uplifting story that explores themes of love, grief, and self-discovery. Abby Jimenez's ability to craft relatable characters and deliver a heartfelt romance shines through in this book. If you're looking for a story that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you with a renewed sense of hope, this book is a wonderful choice.

Not that Yours Truly needs anymore attention, but I have to say this is one of my favorite #mentalhealthmatters representation in any fiction book. I learned things about myself, my own anxiety journey. Things that I am currently doing to cope and didn't even realize as coping skills.
But most importantly, some grace and love for myself in the midst of my struggles. Reading about someone who has the same cycle of well being to spiral, the same self loathing, the same high and lows...and how that is all normal. It's ok to not be ok. Plus the romance was steamy, full of tension and passion.

When I read Part of Your World last year, I binged it on one flight so it felt too perfect that I also binged the hell out of Yours Truly while at 30,000 feet. I don’t know what drug Abby Jimenez put in this small town romance, but it was perfect. I loved loved loved it.
The female main character, Briana, is a bad ass ER doctor who just went through a messy breakup and divorce. Enter: Jacob, a new ER doc at her hospital who is just perfect beyond words. Jacob is the first character I’ve read that has pretty serious anxiety and the way his story is told was so well done. It was so respectful, endearing and it was so nice to see such an important mental health issue center stage.
But what sold me…THEY WROTE LETTERS TO EACH OTHER. I’m sorry but big big big swoon.
There was some miscommunication all over this which I just tend to despise, but it didn’t pull me so far out of the story that I docked stars for it.
This duet of books will be high on my recommendations for a long time coming.

This book! I absolutely loved this book! Abby Jimenez managed to take a tough subject (social anxiety)and weave it into a wonderful and beautiful book that I could not put down! The characters were fantastic and sucked you into their world! I didn’t want the book to end! You will feel all the feelings and not regret picking this amazing romance/contemporary fiction book up! Great for a summer read!

Run out and get this one!

Omg hi new favorite romance book + new favorite book boyfriend?!! (Fine, tied with Zaf from Dani Brown bc ♥️)
This book took me entirely by surprise in the best way possible. I was expecting to enjoy this one because I sooo enjoyed Part of Your World by Jimenez, but I was not expected to have picked up my newest favorite romance story among a few other dear reads. From the moment I started reading about Jacob and his journey with anxiety, I knew I would absolutely adore this one.
The mental health representation here combined with the hospital/Grey’s Anatomy setting makes for a perfect book for me. You absolutely have to put down whatever you’re reading and pick this up - I’m already excited for a reread!
Thank you to NetGalley + Forever Publishing for an early copy of the ebook and a finished copy of the paperback!! Forever, you’re the best 🫶🏻

Another instant classic from the always hilarious Abby Jimenez! Yours Truly was my most anticipated book of the year and it is SO good. It uses a lot of tropes that I love without feeling cliche or tropey - fake dating, friends to lovers, one bed, others that I can say because spoilers :) It features a few favorite characters from past novels, which always feels a little bit like coming home. And it’s an Abby novel, so you know it’s LOL funny.
My #1 most favorite thing about this book is the mental health representation. I know this sounds cheesy but I have to say it because I feel it so deeply: seeing a character as introverted as me find their person is inspiring. It gives me the confidence to be true to my anxious, introverted self. Many thanks to Abby for creating this world for us.
Thanks to NetGalley and Forever for the gifted copy.

This book was an absolutely amazing read! Abby Jimenez is an amazing romance writer who did it again. The anxiety in Jacob was extremely relatable and felt me feel seen. Watching Brianna accommodate him through the book showed their love and made me feel their romance. This was a very good slow burn romance I could not put down! There is a decent amount of miscommunication which does sometimes get frustrating to read but overall this book was an incredible romance that discusses some heavy topics. Please read trigger warnings before reading :)

I was late to the Yours Truly party since I thought the "terrible coworker who might save my brother and be my soulmate" premise sounded a little hokey, but am immensely glad that I didn't miss this train! I adored Bri and Jacob and their families, and the nurses, and Lieutenant Dan, and this entire delightful story and will gladly recommend it to patrons at every chance. While this is apparently the second in a series (the first of which I will definitely grab ASAP) I didn't feel like I was missing anything starting at #2. A huge thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for access to this title in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is one of those books that you just can't put down. From the first chapter you're immediately hooked. It's like a warm hug, it's like being seen for the first time. I felt SEEN. This book was everything and had everything. The first kiss wasn't until like 80% in which would normally drive me insane but in this book it was perfection! I'm completely obsessed with Jacob, he is absolute harmless perfection. There was even the miscommunication trope, and I didn't mind it! Mind blown.
... Benny love story next!?
Thank you netgalley for the earc in exchange for an honest review

This book hit me in all of the feels, I laughed, I cried, and I could not put it down. I was not expecting to love it and relate to it as much as I did. I’m not sure if it’s because both Jacob and Briana are in their mid 30s, or if how perfectly Jacob’s introverted nature + anxiety appears on the page, but I’ve perhaps never related quite as much to a book/characters as I did to this one and Jacob. I think a lot of people will really be able to see themselves in either character, and that always makes the story more compelling to me. Plus, y’all know I love a good fake dating trope, where really they’re actually dating the whole time and everyone can see it but them. I loved the backstory for both Jacob and Briana, they’d both been through a lot, making their HEA that much sweeter. There’s also a fantastic ensemble cast of hospital friends, an adorable tripod dog with the best name ever, + both of the extended families were *Chefs kiss*. There’s witty banter, dry humor, and some fantastic forced proximity. Add this one to your TBR I promise you won’t be disappointed releases April 11th. You better believe I’ve already order myself a paperback copy.

I had to DNF when I could tell this was heading down the road of a MC making huge choices that greatly impact the other MC without telling them. I love Jimenez's voice and the way she writes banter, but this was not for me,

Have I mentioned how much I adore Abby Jimenez? Because I do. Her books are emotional, heartfelt, and so so endearing. Her characters face traumatic circumstances, and then figure out how to hope and believe in love again.
I read Yours Truly in about 2 sittings. I don’t even know what to say except that it was amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an emotionally rich tapestry of a story. Five stars.

I DEVOURED this book in a day! If you have read any other books by Abby Jimenez, you know she always tackles difficult topics while also weaving beautiful stories of people falling in love. In this one, Jacob struggles with pretty severe (in my opinion) anxiety. A topic both my husband I both struggle with since the Pandemic. When describing the character to my husband, we both agreed it was very accurate and respectfully done. I’ve loved every book Abby has written and I seem to love each couple more than the last. She is an instant buy author for me. A must read!

this was one of Jimenez' stronger books in my mind but still a rush to the ending. Thoughtful work on anxiety and how one manages and lives and has relationships. But dropping in some big news right at the end of the big about the heroine and rushing through the resolution was a lost opportunity.

For the first 70 percent or so of this book I really thought it was going to take the number one spot on my ranking of Abby's books...but then the characters did something so out of character and then the book took a turn into my least favorite trope.
But you know what, Abby has written such a wonderful book filled with complex and compelling characters that not only did I not dnf this book or throw it across the room, as I have on occasion with this trope, I actually ended up still loving this book and it's strongly in the number 2 spot on the ranking of Abby's books.
I love how Abby handles tough topics - mental health situations, medical situations, divorce, and relationships - both friends and lovers. She took such difficult topics - anxiety, trauma from previous relationships and reproductive experiences - and handles them so perfectly you end up completely falling in love with her characters and becoming completely enmeshed in their lives. Abby definitely continues to be a must-read for me.

For some reason, I anticipated Yours Truly less than all of Abby Jimenez’s books—including The Friend Zone, Life’s Too Short, Part of Your World. I’m not sure why… Especially since it turned out to be my favourite Jimenez book so far!
My favourite part was definitely the two main characters, Briana and Jacob—they were both really likeable, and I sympathized with them both. I felt intense anger whenever other characters wronged them, and just wished them both happiness.
The chemistry between Jacob and Briana was something else! The romance was enjoyable and I found the plot of Yours Truly as a whole to be really engaging. The banter between Jacob and Briana, as well as with the side characters, was really enjoyable for me as well.
Overall, Yours Truly left me with a warm heart and a smile on my face. It made me feel a range of emotions and kept me engaged until the very end. Highly recommending this book to those looking for a heartbreaking and heartwarming contemporary romance!

Two doctors get off to a rocky start when they're put up for the same promotion. As usual Abby Jimenez writes excellent banter, nuanced characters and with an engaging voice that makes me zip right through books with some harder material. This time, there's quite a bit of medical stuff, including a very depressed younger brother with a chronic, possibly terminal, kidney disease. (He needs a transplant.) I ended up enjoying this book, as I have the other two books I've read by the author, but I was unhappy with one of the plot choices and I wanted to make note of it here so folks could decide when or if they want to read it.
Overall a funny, poignant, heartwarming book with a strong message and connection to Jimenez's own experience with a chronic disease that affects the kidneys.

Content Warnings with Spoiler: medical trauma, depression, anxiety, past near-death of parent, death of patients, past miscarriage with former partner who also cheated, one MC breaks up with other MC because of unplanned pregnancy (does not end in miscarriage). The author often writes themes of infertility and pregnancy, so I should have expected this, but I had foolishly assumed that two doctors would know to use protection. They don't.

I absolutely loved the relationship between Briana and Jacob! This was the epitome of a slow-burn since they both believed the other was not interested in them more than platonically, and their dynamics were so cute. I really loved how well they complimented each other, even though I was frustrated at their inability to talk about the thing that mattered most because that would have cleared up a lot of the pining and angst. Other than that, I thought that this was a very well-developed storyline and was pleasantly surprised that there was little work-related drama in the plot.
