God I just freaking Adore Abby Jimenez and everything she writes! Yours Truly was no exception- It probably took me this long to write a review because she just hits you right in the feels! Her characters are quirky and hilarious and totally relatable. The way she champions causes like Jacob’s anxiety in Yours Truly is remarkably touching. And I just love how she weaves her characters, family members and pets together in this intricate and hilariously dysfunctional but oddly familiar way, you will want to jump right into this novel and be BFFs with these characters! Enjoy the Easter eggs and all the rom-com-wizardry that is Abby Jimenez! Welcome to the show!

Yours Truly might be my favorite Abby Jimenez book. I absolutely loved Jacob and the anxiety representation that he brought to the table. I share many of his anxious habits. I love how strong Bri is. My favorite character though is probably Jacob's mom - she reminded me of Barbara Streisand's character on Meet the Parents. So good!! I loved the letter writing aspect of this book. And while I sometimes find the fake dating trope kind of silly, it was adorable in this book.

Just like all of Abby’s books this one is AMAZING. I laughed out loud, cried real tears, and went back and forth on chapters a few times just so I could savor what happened. Her characters are so well thought out and true to real life. These are the people you want to be friends with and wish you had their cool favor as well. When Yours Truly was done I immediately wanted to start it again…it’s that good!

I loved this book so much! Abby wrote Jacob’s anxiety so well. I saw myself in him. He quickly became my favorite character that Abby has ever written. The friendship and eventual romance between the two main characters was written beautifully! Highly recommend.

Abby is an amazing author and I have fallen in love with all of her books. This one is no exception. It has the right amount of humor, angst, and romance to keep readers engaged and interested.

All of her books are so relatable because they typically deal with real life issues. This one hit close to home. The main male character, Jacob, sufferers from extreme anxiety. There were so many things that he was dealing with that hit close to home and I related to his struggles in many ways. I love that Abby shows that aspect of things in her writing. It exposes readers to topics that they may not have been exposed to otherwise and really makes you stop to consider what others could be dealing with privately.

Every time I read a Abby Jiminez novel, I always think she cannot write a better novel than her last. However, happily this isn't the case- Yours Truly is my favorite novel so far -it’s so unique besides being very personal to the author. This Is the story of Bri an ER dr and Jacob a co-worker who decides to donate a kidne. Briana is struggling because of her upcoming divorce and is depressed because her brother needs a kidney transplant due to her autoimmune disease. What I love about this novel is how she explains Jacob’s crippling anxiety; how he copes and manages and when it alters his world. Jiminez writes in such an earnest, matter of a fact way that I always gobble up her books in a day and stop whatever I’m doing. But it takes such a talented writer to create beloved characters and easily get in the head of them: that you can understand there motives and fears. I loved her depiction of Jacobs crazy family,: grandpa, Jewel, Gwen and Jafar the parrot. I love Bri’s sense of humor. I couldn’t read this fast enough. Jiminez is my favorite contemporary novel writer and her writing gets better with every new novel. Thank you Netgalley for granting me an Arc of this book!

Yours Truly was my all time favorite of Abby's books. She explains anxiety and the way to love on someone who struggles with anxiety in such a real and thoughtful way. This book really rocked me mentally and emotionally and I didn't want it to end. The perfect amount of romance, sarcasm, and twists to keep you engaged. LOVED.

This is the exact kind of sweet, fun, slow-burn romance that I love to curl up with as a type of "comfort food" book. It hit all the right notes, with fun and funny characters, a sweet and well-paced development of romance, a familiar but well-executed trope, and a satisfying conclusion.

Thank you, NetGalley and Forever, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Part of Your World was one of my favorite reads last year, so I was excited to see Briana was getting a book. I’ve spent the past three months really struggling to read, but I absolutely devoured Yours Truly.

I’m such a sucker for women in STEM romances, as well as fake dating and anything with an epistolary component to it, but for me, what stole the show for this book was Jacob. I can honestly say that Jacob was one of the most unflinching and unmasked depictions of anxiety that I have read in a long time. It made me feel seen.

Like her previous novels, Jimenez expertly balances difficult topics with warm and lighthearted moments that leaves you wanting more. I don’t know what she has planned next, but at this point, I don’t think Abby Jimenez can write a book I won’t fall in love with. The authenticity with which she writes her characters never fails to give me the feels, and Yours Truly was no exception.

This was my second Abby Jimenez book, and I will continue to pick up her new releases. I really enjoy her writing style, her books have felt effortless to read and easy to binge, even when dealing with more difficult topics like this book does.

Both of our main characters Jacob and Brianna, find themselves in less than ideal situations in life. They are both ER doctors, and Brianna is still recovering from her recent divorce when Jacob transfers to her hospital to get away from an Ex. This story is full of many complex issues that the author handled with such care and kindness.

There were a few tropes in this one that aren't my favourite and did slightly impact my rating, but for those that are fans of these tropes Im sure this book will be a slam dunk for them. I am so impressed with Jimenez's writing and can't wait too see what she does next.

And she does it again. Abby has such an amazing ability to bring her characters to life and make them truly relatable. They are not perfect. They are everyday people with problems that many of us go through, but do not want to share. She does a fantastic job of describing anxiety from Jacob's pov. She also showed how some people understand Jacob's struggles and support him, while others just do not get it at all. Abby also tackled the tough topic of kidney transplant and the struggle to find a living donor. This hit close to home as my Aunt went through this a year ago and struggled to even put out a request for people to be the match. Turns out, one of her close friends signed up right away to be tested and he was a perfect match!

LOVED THIS BOOK! However, I don't think it needed to be as long as it was. Still enjoyed myself while reading it tho.

Abby has a way of reaching right into your soul and creating characters that you immediately root for and relate to. This is by far my favorite read from her- which is saying a lot.

This is a book that will absolutely stick with me forever.

Yours Truly follows Jacob and Briana as they navigate life through heartaches, life obstacles, love, trust. If you love heart wrenching stories, fake relationships, one bed troupes, mental health representation, and love letters. This book is for you!!

This is my second read by Abby Jimenez and I cannot wait to read more. I have fallen in love with her writing and the way she tells heartfelt stories that you can relate to on such a deep level. All the while with some lighthearted fun and banter. And of course a swooning love story.

One of the reasons I love this book so much is because I could relate to Jacob in such a way it was so comforting. To see myself in his character and being able to connect with things that go along with anxiety and what it can spiral into was amazing.

He truly is such a wholesome character. Jacob has the sweetest and kindest heart. I was melting reading his POVs. I loved getting to know his character. And Briana. She is such a strong willed character. I loved seeing her story because although she has been hurt before and is taking care of her brother she stays true and strong to herself.

They both deserve the happiness that their story lead to in the end.

“Love shows up.”

THIS BOOK!!!!!! Let me tell you when I say this is some of Jimenez's best work! I am a fan of all of her books but this one is definitely such a great one.

First let's start with Jacob. He is a cinnamon roll from the very beginning but suffers from anxiety. His anxiety potrayal was accurate and he was very relatable. Giving a kidney to her brother??? PLEASE and he barely knew her at that point

I dont always enjoy characters who have "my dad left so I dont trust any man" personalities like Briana but I still loved her. She was independent and determined and I understood her reluctance to fall in love with Jacob. I love how Jimenez's characters fall into one another--like they can't be separated for long without needing each other again. I love how much they need each other.

This book was one of my favorite reads of 2023. It was all around perfect! Jimenez has such a fun and lively voice and it shows in her books, but not in a bad way!
