Abby always pulls me into a story so quickly. I still can't believe i've only read 2 of her books. I need to read her backlog asap. Abby brings us back to this world via Briana Ortiz who was Alexis' best friend from Part of Your World.

Briana is an ER attending, and she is on the eve of her divorce being finalized. While Briana doesn't want to get back with her husband, it still leaves her with a lot of complex feelings. While dealing with this she is also worried about her brother Benny who is in need of a kidney transplant.

Jacob is also an ER attending. After a bad breakup where his ex gets together with his brother, he decides he needs to move on and that includes finding a new job. Nicknamed Dr. Death on his first day after losing patient after patient, no one at his new hospital is his biggest fan. Especially Briana when she finds out he is her competition for the Chief job in the ER.

Slowly Briana gives Jacob a chance and via letter writing and leaving notes to one another they slowly learn more and more about each other and eventually become friends. When Briana finds out that Jacob is her brother's secret kidney donor she decides she would do anything for him. Including be his fake girlfriend so Jacob doesn't have to face his brother's wedding (to his ex) alone.

Via this fake dating, real feelings start to come out and these two are just the cutest couple. When Briana runs scared at the end, I love how Jacob continues to show up and give her the reassurance she needs after being betrayed again and again by the men in her life. I love how Briana knows more about Jacob in a few months than his ex knew about him in the years they were together. Jacob's family also adds a fun element to the story.

This was such a sweet romance and I enjoyed every bit of it. Especially the moments with Alexis and Daniel that were sprinkled throughout the book. I loved that we didn't leave them behind, but still got to focus on a new couple.

*I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

This book was unexpectedly heart wrenching and I loved every single page. I read this in a single sitting because the characters and plot and writing had me fully engaged instantly. The ending was so strong and so perfect, I truly don’t think it could have been better. This book is an absolute must-read.

While I’m here writing a review for a book with a character in need of a kidney, PLEASE sign up to be an organ donor. It’s so incredibly important, you could save a life (or multiple lives). Even though Benny is fictional, there are millions of people out there just like him.

Abby Jimenez books just get better and better. After every new novel, I am convinced that it can’t be topped. Being wrong has never felt so good.

As someone who suffers from anxiety that feels debilitating at times, there is something comforting in seeing my struggles represented so accurately. Jimenez writes her characters and their issues with so much care.

Yours Truly is a slow burn romance. It does not have the heat that many of Jimenez’s novels are known for. However, it didn’t feel as though it was lacking despite the lack of steam. The connection between Briana and Jacob is so deep and built on such a solid foundation that being able to witness their relationship feels like a gift.

For readers who love a book that evokes all the emotions- definitely heck out Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez. I simply cannot recommend this book highly enough. Five big stars to what will be one of the best books I read in 2023!

Part of Your World was my first introduction to Abby Jimenez, and I was super excited to snag Yours Truly! I have to admit that I totally forgot it was connected to the first until I was about a third of the way through-- whoops-- but clearly you can hop right on in without having read about Alexis (although I think you should, because that one was good, too).

Bri Ortiz is an ER doctor about to snag a promotion when all of a sudden there's a new attending doc in her ER-- the nurses have started calling him Dr. Death because all of the dude's patients ended up dying on his very first day. He ends up being super rude to her, and then she finds out that he's also in the running for the promotion that she thought would be a slam dunk. But then a couple days later, she receives a very nice, hand-written letter from Dr. Death AKA Jacob Maddox explaining himself. And she writes him back. And then he writes her back. And so she writes him back again, and all of a sudden, they're exchanging notes on fancy stationery.

There are kidney transplants, brother/ex-GF weddings, fake relationships, trauma surrounding life events, and lots of other stuff in here. There's also a lot of discussion around social anxiety because Jacob has a severe case of it. As a fellow social anxiety sufferer, I'm always interested to see techniques that people (even fictional ones) use to get through their days, and this portrayal (and other mental health issues in the book) was accurate and sensitively handled. I was really sad for this one to end and am already anxiously awaiting Abby Jimenez's next book!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my thoughts.

Jacob and Briana are both doctors who work together in the ER. Briana is dealing with a terrible breakup and her brother's health issues. Jacob lives with anxiety.

This book is already on my list of top favorites for the year. Jacob and Briana stole my heart. They were precious together. Jacob was so gentle and thoughtful. A new favorite book boyfriend. Briana was perfect for him. She made him feel comfortable and loved all the little parts of him that some people may view as flaws. I adored the scenes when they were completely in sync. When they laughed over their inside jokes and created this safe bubble they were inside of. When they truly only saw each other even when there were other people in the room. When they felt protective over each other's needs and wants.

There was a lot of angst that pulled me in and made this book hard to put down. There were a few times I was on the verge of crying. This was such an incredible love story that really touched me with so many special moments.

Abby Jimenez writes romance books that are so full of heart and feeling and this was no exception.
I loved everything about this including the work place romance, the fake dating, and the communication through letters. Jimenez included so many tropes that all felt genuine.

I enjoyed Briana as a main character. She was strong, funny, and such a well developed and likable character. Her growth and journey throughout the book, especially when she was struggling, was incredibly relatable. I also loved the male lead, Jacob. He was such a complex character and the representation of anxiety was at the forefront and well explored. The relationship between these two characters was so natural and I loved how they supported each others strengths and helped each other with their weaknesses.

Overall, another wonderful romance book by this author!

Yours Truly is a contemporary workplace romance invoking the forced proximity, fake dating, only one bed, accidental pregnancy, and “enemies to friends to lovers” tropes. I would recommend it to fans of books like Two Wrongs Make a Right by Chloe Liese, Do You Take This Man by Denise Williams, The Plus One by Mazey Eddings, The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, The Love Wager by Lynn Painter, The Neighbor Favor by Kristina Forest, and/ or Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. Trigger warnings include miscarriage, parental abandonment, cheating, social anxiety, and chronic illness.

First off, I liked how this was an easy and relatively quick read – I was actually able to start and finish it in one day. So, this book would be ideal to take on a trip or to read on a quiet day off. I felt that Briana and Jacob’s cute chemistry and will they/ won’t they romance was very engaging and hard to put down. I enjoyed how Alexis and Daniel from Part of Your World made unexpected appearances in Yours Truly as I loved these characters (Alexis is Briana’s best friend)! Thus, Yours Truly can be read as a standalone or interconnected with Part of Your World. I found that I really enjoyed reading Briana and Jacob’s comical letters and the edition of Jacob’s journal entries (which Jacob uses as a coping mechanism for his mental health) towards the end of the book were very sweet and tear-jerking.

One thing that I didn’t really like was all the miscommunication and mixed signals that took place during Briana and Jacob’s fake romance. I also I felt like it took too long for them to realize their true feelings for each other and get together for real; their relationship was definitely a slow burn. Furthermore, in comparison to Part of Your World, I felt like there wasn’t a lot of spice in Yours Truly.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and found it to be very engaging. I would definitely recommend it to fans of fake dating, slow burns, and workplace romances.

Abby Jimenez is one of the best romance writers of this generation. She has the ability to write powerful stories that dig deep into our fears and insecurities while warming our hearts with the hope of happy endings.
That's what she did with Bri and Jacob's story.

Yours Truly is another brilliant novel, that follows the journey of two characters who have to overcome their past traumas to find their way to love again.

Jacob is a cinnamon roll, and from the very beginning, we can't help but fall in love with him. Briana is amazing, and her traumas and insecurities are so relatable, sometimes it's like the book is picking my own brain.

I can't wait to read more of Abby's stories, as I'm sure they'll all be just as amazing!

Yes, 1000x yes. Duel POV + Co-workers ✅ // fake dating ✅ // letters back and for between characters ✅✅ // dog as a main character ✅ // one bed trope ✅ // 10+ highlighted quotes saved to my kindle ✅

I’ve read Abby Jimenez entire backlog and Yours Truly is my top book from her. I swear she puts magic into her books, because her style typically doesn’t hold my interest. But with Abby… I would read this women’s grocery list. Ive loved Briana character from Part of Your Would, so I was thrilled she was getting her own book. You don’t have to read that first, but I’d recommend it! I love how Abby weaves humor throughout heavier emotions and topics in all of her stories. The part about the fainting goats sent me into a laughing fit at 2am. But Jacob … JACOB. I’ve never related to a male main character more. I learned so many things about myself while reading this book. I thought I was absolutely crazy for experiencing the driveway thing. Maybe it should have been obvious to me, but I never realized how much anxiety plays a role in my every day life until I read Jacobs POV. So for that, thank you Abby for writing this story, and making me feel less weird about myself. And going forward, I am going to make a conscious effort to try to be harmless to myself.

“We are all a little broken, Briana. We are a mosaic. We’re made up of those we’ve met, and all the things you’ve been through. There are parts of us that are colorful and dark and jacket and beautiful. And I love every piece of you. Even the ones you wish didn’t exist. “ Jacob .. SWOON.

Anxiety rep was top tier! Like to the point that I felt Abby somehow climbed into my brain to write this book. Jiminez fans will adore this sweet romcom that was full of depth, laughter and emotions.

There were a few things that didn’t make this ~perfect~ for me namely some miscommunication. But hey, if they all talked about their feelings right off the bat the book would only be 50 pages. Gotta create drama somehow!

This book is absolutely delightful. All of Abby's books are, don't get me wrong, but this one is just really tender.

I love the anxiety representation and I love a workplace romance, especially one that takes place in a hospital!

This book made me laugh and cry. It's so wonderfully done!

Thank you to Abby Jimenez, Netgalley, and ReadForeverPub for the ebook ARC!

THIS IS MY FAVORITE ABBY JIMENEZ BOOK! I mean, probably, right? They’re all wonderful, and I probably say that every time, but this one hits different.

First of all, the male lead has anxiety, and as someone who also has anxiety, I connected very deeply to him on this level. I also appreciated that Abby’s men aren’t emotionally unavailable.

This book is so funny and sweet. Jacob’s family…ugh. I love them so much!

Plus the initial connection is via handwritten letters. How precious is that?

Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is…. Not in a good place. Her divorce is about to be official, her brother’s kidneys are failing, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who is grinding Briana’s gears. Right as Briana is at her breaking point, Dr. Jacob Maddox does something unexpected . . . by sending Briana a letter.

Through their correspondence, they become friends, like best friends. Jacob unveils himself to be seriously the best guy ever, especially when he becomes her brother’s kidney donor. How is Briana supposed to resist? And when he asks her for a big favor as well, how can she say no?

This book easily became a new favorite of mine. Briana and Jacob were such likable and REAL characters. Jacob’s anxiety so closely mirrored my own and seeing the way both Jacob and Briana coped with it, spoke to such healthy relationships with themselves and each other. Their relationship felt so complete, whole and magical.

This story had the right amount of angst, adorability and love. It is one that I already can’t wait to reread. Thank you so much to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC!

I appreciated a lot about the emotional complexity of this book. The characters were well developed and the interactions carried the depth of their situations. The social anxiety was well depicted and it was fun to catch up with the other characters from previous books. I disliked how back and forth Jacob and Bri’s relationship felt, but I also could understand why the author drew it out so much. Overall, I always looked forward to jumping into their story.

My new favorite book by Abby Jimenez! How is it possible that each book of hers is better than the last?

Bri and Jacob will melt your heart and make you want to pick up a pen and write a letter. And while their relationship is genuine and selfless, I loved the overall message about showing up for each other.

Of course, there is conflict along the way in the form of miscommunication, which is one of my most hated tropes. When I realized this, I rolled my eyes. Usually, it annoys me to no end as to why the pair can't talk or solve their issue. Yet, Abby Jimenez knew what she was doing. When you get to this part, keep going. There's more to the story, and ultimately, it does make this book better.

Dearest Abby, I’ve often said that you’re ONE OF my favourite romance writers. I lied. You’re THE FAVOURITE! You’re number one — numero uno; top of the list.
Yours truly,
Nadia ❤️

YOURS TRULY is the love story of Brianna Ortiz and Jacob Maddox. Bri is 35, an ER doctor, recently out of a messy divorce and currently watches over her brother, Benny, who is on dialysis and hoping for a kidney transplant. Jacob has a complicated family situation, is an ER doctor who just transferred to Bri’s hospital, has social anxiety and is an introvert. I related to him so hard re: introversion & anxiety.

Their enemies to friends to fake dating story is told through his and hers POVs (an Abby Jimenez classic and my absolute favourite). Abby’s writing makes me feel all the things. If makes me laugh, cry and never want to stop reading.

I often speak about my book boyfriends and Jacob easily makes that list. But let’s talk about a girlfriend that gets you. Bri is that girl and she’s my book girlfriend.

I loved the juxtaposition of serious issues, intense feelings, light moments, laugh out loud humour and grandpa 🚬. I loved their internal and external dialogue — these beautiful words were joined together on pages and pages of longing and pining. I loved the way they loved each other. I hurt when they hurt and my heart broke when theirs did.

Recommend to a friend? Yup! All my romance lovers need to read this one.

Favourite quote: “We are all a little broken, […]. We are a mosaic. We’re made up of all those we’ve met, and all the things we’ve been through. There are parts of us that are colourful and dark and jagged and beautiful.”

Thank you Forever Publishing and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Leave it to Abby Jimenez to take a troupe I am not a big fan of (will not state as it is spoilerish) and make me fall in love with the story anyways. No one and I mean no one can do it like her.

Amazing, clever, emotional, beautiful, laugh out loud funny, fantastic, perfect. Believe the hype.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC! This one was a lot of fun. Brianna is a lovable and relatable character. I looked forward to her story even when reading Part of Your World, the companion book to Yours Truly. The portrayal of Jacob’s anxiety was very authentic and it’s rare to see male anxiety represented in romance. I very much enjoyed their love story!

Abby Jimenez has done it again! This book took me less than a day to read - it was that good! Briana and Jacob's story was one full of humor, sacrifice and love. It also hit on a lot of deep topics such as grief, betrayal, and anxiety but the lighthearted aspects of the book balances it perfectly. This is a great opposites attract story and I would have reviewed it as fives stars, except it had one of my least favorite tropes - miscommunication. This is definitely one I'll be purchasing so I can read again later with the rest of her books!

What can you expect with this book? So glad you asked…

✔️Greys Anatomy vibes (workplace romance with a hospital back drop)
✔️Fake Dating
✔️Forced Proximity Slow Burn
✔️Excellent Banter
✔️Male MC with excellent anxiety/mental health representation

I was obsessed with Jacob & Briana. Their stories both read so genuine and whole. They both have had a rough go of things coming into this book, but they’re not broken.

My only slight complaint is the third act really drug on and I feel like the miscommunication trope was leaned on a little too heavily. Other than that, this is a near perfect book and even WITH that, I still highly recommend! You can’t go wrong with Abby 🖤

Thank you to @netgalley for the gifted arc - this is the most excited I’ve ever been to be approved! All thoughts are my own!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
