I’d love to interview Abby for my podcast, Raise Your Words. Abby is one of my favorite romance authors and Yours Truly was swoon worthy. Content Warnings: Parental Abandonment, Abelism, Infidelity, Miscarriage, Anxiety, Panic attacks, divorce, emesis, & sibling with autoimmune disease. The female protagonist’s ex-husband cheats on her. This book has a lot to unpack!

Well well well Abby has done it again (no surprise). Every Abby Jimenez book I read is my new favorite but I really think this one is my favorite favorite. The author has such an incredible way of balancing humor and emotional elements, I know every time that I will be laughing and crying within the same page.

This is Bri’s book, who we met in Part of Your World (but this can be read as a standalone), and Jacob, the new ER doctor who seems to be in competition for a promotion Bri is seeking. They have a terrible start to their relationship, but that quickly turns around when Bri receives a letter from Jacob, who is better at arranging his thoughts on page than verbally. The epistolary elements here were some of my favorite parts of this, they were so funny and heartfelt without stopping the flow of the story.

I love that these were adults dealing with adult issues. Yes, there is some miscommunication happening that drove me a bit batty, but for the most part they were mature adults who were just doing the best they could when life didn’t turn out like they expected. Bri is recently divorced from her husband of a decade, her best friend moved away, and her brother is in kidney failure needing a transplant. Jacob’s recent ex-girlfriend is marrying his brother and his whole family is looking at him for his reaction. I think this book will give a lot of hope to readers whose lives also didn’t turn out as expected.

I also especially loved the mental health aspects of the book. Mental health rep is never a one-size fits all endeavor because we of course all experience things differently but I have never seen such an accurate representation of my anxiety as I did in this book. I am Jacob. I have never related to a hero so much, or really any character.

Thank you to Abby for writing this and thank you to Forever for publishing it. The author’s note at the end really adds another dynamic layer to the story.

CW: miscarriage (past), anxiety, panic attacks

YOURS TRULY by Abby Jimenez is an emotional and tender story with a big heart. As with all of her books, there are scenes and dialogue and topics that will spark laughter, tears, and topics of conversation. I love when books don’t shy away from hard topics and showcasing real people, both of which Jimenez does skillfully. Briana and Jacob are so sweet and patient with each other—completely swoonworthy on both sides with their kindness, caring gestures, and empathy! I also enjoyed the family dynamics layered throughout. You’ll root for—and absolutely adore—Briana and Jacob from the start!

Thank you to Abby Jimenez, Forever, and NetGalley for this book. All opinions are my own.

Abby Jimenez is a top favorite romance author for me and this book made me love her writing even more than I already did! I loved The Friend Zone series and never thought anything could top Happily Ever After Playlist, but YOURS TRULY just made it a tie between those two for my favorite AJ book. I adored this story and legit laughed out loud multiple times from start to finish. Bri and Jacob’s relationship played out perfectly. The anxiety/depression writing was spot on and so well done. I hurt for both of these characters, rooted for them both, laughed out loud at them, got sad because of their hardships, and ultimately just loved them as a couple. There was *some* miscommunication in this book, but it wasn’t the overarching trope and I’m glad about that. I cannot wait for more from Abby Jimenez— her writing is always just the perfect mix of happy/funny and meaningful emotional depth within her characters.

I received an advance copy of Yours Truly in exchange for an honest review. I'm a loyal Abby Jimenez fan and was thrilled to read this book! If you've read any of Abby's books, you likely know that she has a way of handling sensitive topics with humor and compassion, and this book is no different. Briana and Jacob each have their own struggles impacting their lives and interactions, and even when I didn't agree with their actions, I always liked them and wanted more of their stories. With each book, Abby weaves in characters from her other books, creating a universe of friends that we'd all love to share. I can't wait to see who Abby brings into that universe next!

✨Thoughts ✨
Guys…this book was utter perfection! It made me smile like an idiot, it made me laugh, and it made cry! I have never felt so seen by a book and how it depicted social anxiety, I think it was done incredibly well.

I loved these characters so much too. Briana is such a firecracker and so funny, but I also wanted to hug her after everything she has gone through. Jacob…omg this man is going in the HOF for book boyfriends…I SAID WHAT I SAID.

The letters & notes back and forth between them were the sweetest thing ever. I loved the buildup between them, and the pining between them both. How Brianna knew what Jacob needed to feel comfortable when entering a new social setting, going somewhere new, or meeting new people 🥺.

The family dynamics in this were amazing. Jacob’s grandpa may have been the funniest thing ever, but he secretly has been playing them all😂. I was literally snorting when we first met him and his interaction with Briana. Briana’s relationship with her brother was so sweet and how she was so worried & protective of him.

This is def one of my top reads so far this year and I think everyone should check it out!

Thank you so much Forever Publishing for this advanced copy!

I could not wait to get Bri’s book after finishing Part Of Your World, and it did not disappoint! Yours Truly has all the humor and heart that I love about Abby Jimenez’s books and the epistolary trope was executed perfectly! The letters and texts had me laughing and swooning and I had such a huge smile on my face every time Bri and Jacob were on the page. They truly saw the other person and loved each other just as they were, full stop. There is never any doubt for the reader that Jacob is all in and I'm 99% sure that he will go down as the most ultra ooey gooey cinnamon roll ever. Get read to swoon for Dr. Jacob Maddox *all the heart eyes*

There are heavier topics addressed in the book (please see CW's), but they're done with such care and balanced very well with the lighter and funnier moments. I loved seeing Alexis and Daniel again (Doug too LOL) and getting an update on their lives. The magic of Grant House and the stained glass window Easter eggs were a great touch too. I don't know how Abby Jimenez does it, but every book is always just what my heart needs. I can’t wait for everyone to fall in love with Bri and Jacob!

CW: anxiety, panic attacks (on page), grief, cheating ex, discussion/mentions of: renal failure/dialysis/kidney transplant, depression, parental abandonment (past), unplanned pregnancy, miscarriage (past), mention of postpartum depression, complicated family relationships

*I voluntarily beta read an advance review copy of this book*

Another charming, swoon-worthy love story by Abby Jimenez. I love stories that incorporate letters, and I thought this one did it so well. You couldn't help but fall for Jacob and root for him and Briana to get their happily ever after!

“ He let me look into his soul. And the only thing in there was us.”

TW: divorce, chronic illness, anxiety disorder, panic attacks, miscarriage, cheating spouse, pregnancy, trauma, abandonment

Yours Truly is a romance written by the delightful Abby Jimenez. Abby had a way of writing the heart and soul of her characters that makes your mind’s eye want to linger and devour her books. Her heroines give me life and the male protagonists make me believe in love.

Briana and Jacob are a match, a perfect match. But Briana has sworn off love and men for the rest of her life. Jacob can’t seem to even talk to her, let alone know her. But the heart wants what the heart wants. Turns out Jacob is a kidney match for Briana’s brother who needs a transplant. Briana would do anything for her new hero! Including be his date and pretend girlfriend for Jacob’s brother’s wedding… to his ex girlfriend… yeah it’s that bad.
What starts out as a charade, becomes more and more difficult as the pair become more and more enamored. But is it real or pretend? One things for sure, their chemistry is undeniable and the attraction is there and everyone can see it except them.

Despite a few typos, I did find this book to be enjoyable. I got a little whiplash at the end. It seemed like Jacob and Briana’s happily ever after kept stalling like a teenager learning to drive a stick shift in a parking lot filled with speed bumps. But after having read it, I really appreciated how Jimenez wrapped up Briana’s thread of accepting love and letting Jacob love her. It was beautiful. And believable. Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Briana and Jacob from the very beginning. They were funny, they were adorable. Bonus that Jacob has a three legged Bernese Mountain Dog named Lt. Dan.

I laughed while reading this book a lot.

Jacob was one of the most relatable characters ever, which I find it rare to relate to the male MC so much. But his anxiety and quirks were so honest and real.

However, there was so much miscommunication it was painful at times. If it wasn't for the miscommunication this would have been 5 stars for me!

Huge thank you to NetGalley & Forever for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review!

Abby Jiminez hit it out of the park again with Yours Truly! Dealing with anxiety myself, I struggled in the beginning of the book because it felt like I was looking in a mirror at all the things I don’t like about myself. Watching a character work through their anxiety ended up being one of my favorite parts of the book.

Knowing Abby’s writing, I had to take a pause about halfway through the book because I was terrified of getting my heart broken, but I had nothing to fear. Abby delivered her beautiful romance just as she always does: leaving the reader with a giddy heart.

Easy medical romance read by Abby Jimenez. Loved the exchange of letters and reading them. Loved the family interaction in the story. Two things really bothered me—Jacob’s social anxiety read more like autism. And I hated the unplanned pregnancy/can’t bother to wear a condom considering both were doctors.

Just when I think I've read my favorite Abby Jimenez book, she writes another that raises the bar again. After Part of Your World, I couldn't wait to read Bri's story. There's so much to love about this book that I don't even know where to begin. The characters of course, are so fleshed out they feel like people you know personally, it's a swoony love story and the humor is laugh out loud. But what really stayed with me after finishing the book was Jacob's struggle with anxiety. Some of his internal dialogue--the way he over-thinks and agonizes over things--it could have come straight from my own head. I don't think I've ever related so much to a character in a book. As always, Abby takes a tough topic and tackles it with so much grace that she leaves you laughing and crying at the same time. She remains one of my all-time one-click authors.

Such a cute story! I loved reading the back and forth between Briana and Jacob. As someone who has worked in healthcare, I enjoyed the medical aspect of this book with the kidney failure and seeing the main characters as doctors working in the hospital. Loved the tension between the main characters!

I absolutely LOVED this book! Jacob is my all time FAVORITE love interest Abby has ever written. He is so sensitive and caring, and a perfect match to the independent, feisty Briana! This was unbelievably sweet — I laughed, I swooned, I teared up. I absolutely recommend this!

4.5 overall (not a full 5 only because the miscommunication trope GOT ME, but that’s a personal problem LOL) — GO READ THIS!!!

First and foremost, thank you so much @readforeverpub and @netgalley for sending me an e-ARC in exchange for my review!

First, HELLO Grey’s Anatomy vibes! 😍 I haven’t read much medical romance, but I really enjoyed this one! Jacob is the perfect cinnamon roll hero, and I fell HARD. I loved the mental health representation in this book. As someone who suffers from an anxiety disorder, I connected deeply to Jacob and his struggles. It was written so beautifully and really shows how anxiety affects so many aspects of peoples day to day lives. I think this book can resonate with people who struggle personally, or for people who don’t struggle but may know someone who does. I also LOVE Briana. She is hilarious, and I love how deeply she cares for the people in her life. She is a fierce and loyal FMC that everyone loves. And the way Briana knew of Jacob’s struggles, accepted him for who he was, and didn’t try to force him to be someone he wasn’t 🥹😭 This book got me all in my feels.

Lastly, I absolutely love the humor that Abby sprinkles into her novels. I found myself giggling to myself throughout the whole book!

I've been a fan of Abby Jiminez from the start - but I can now say I absolutely have a new favorite. I LOVED Yours Truly! Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for the free ebook to review.

I read a lot. A lot. But there are only a small handful of books each year that I want to give 10 stars out of 5, shout about from the rooftops, reread the second I finish - and this is absolutely one of those books for me! This is a story about Briana and Jacob falling in love. Look, that's not a spoiler - it's a romance, you know where it's headed...but this also includes:

- Fake dating
- An amazing group of side characters including a large family dynamic
- A super sweet dog and a parrot that cusses like a sailor
- The most cinnamon roll hero you've ever read
- A hero and heroine who do their best to take good care of themselves and each other
- So many moments that made me laugh - and 4 that made me cry (good tears)

I could go on about this book for hours - but instead of doing that I'm going to go reread my favorite parts immediately. Loved loved loved loved it, all the stars!!!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I fell head over heels for Jacob! This is Bri’s book and she is fiercely loyal and protective of him. So while the plot may not be unique, the genuine characters make up for it.
Triggers: chronic kidney disease, divorced main character, her ex husband cheated, depression , anxiety, pregnancy loss and the mention of suicide.
I recommend
4 stars

4.5 stars!

We first met Dr. Briana Ortiz in Abby Jimenez’s fabulous novel, "Part of Your World". Briana (AKA Bri) was the uber-efficient and hilariously funny best friend to Alexis Montgomery. Alexis got her happily ever after, but now it’s Bri’s turn in "Yours Truly"! But first, she’s got to get over her initial hatred of her new co-worker, Dr. Jacob Maddox. She has quite a few reasons to dislike him, but after a few revelations, she realizes how wrong she was about Jacob. He’s one of the good ones, and she finds herself wanting to become his friend. She even jumps at the chance to help him through a stressful wedding by agreeing to be his fake girlfriend. But before either of them realizes it, their fake feelings become real. They each have their own issues when it comes to relationships. Can they overcome their fears to become one another’s “yours truly”?

Like all Abby Jimenez books, I ate this up in a matter of days. In fact, I think I ripped through this in less than 24 hours, which is a real feat with three young children! (Middle of the night reading anyone? YES PLEASE!) I was laughing out loud, sobbing into my pillow, swooning, gasping, all of the “ings”. Such a lovely ride! I loved how Abby lovingly wove a person’s struggles with anxiety into the story. I think it does one of two things: provides a place for readers with anxiety to feel seen, or creates empathy for people who may not have understood anxiety otherwise. In that way I believe that this book can go a long way towards helping people with varying levels of anxiety understand each other. Bravo, Abby!

The (enemies to) friends to lovers story was told so well. I loved watching the progression of feelings between two thoroughly GOOD people as they navigated their insecurities and made space for one another. The acceptance. The nurturing. The spice (once they allowed themselves to feel it.) The uplifting of another person, warts and and all. (There are no warts in this book, despite the fact that they’re both doctors. Haha!) There were a few points that weren’t my favorite, but ultimately served the plot, so I won’t complain, but just say that it brought it down from a perfect five stars for me, but it’s still an exceptional 4.5 stars in my book! I’m already buying my own signed copy. A fantastic fifth book!!!!!

Trigger warnings: cheating, divorce, kidney disease, pregnancy, miscarriage

I'd like to thank Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and Netgalley for the e-ARC of this book. All opinions presented are my own.
