I lovedddd Part of Your World and Bri’s character. I didn’t know if this could live up to the first book but OMG it was also ah-mazzzinnggg🥹🫶🏼
Bri is a badass and I love the way she’s patient with Jacob but also very blunt in the way he needs. She doesn’t want to change him and just accepts how he needs love.
Jacob is loving a just there for her and shows her that he wants to know herrrr, the read her, which is exactly what she needs. I felt like at first his anxiety was going to deter me from feeling connected to him but I really felt him open up through the book as he opened up to Bri.
Benny, my grandma is on the kidney transplant list and I really loved this connection and how real it was portrayed. I feel like it was left open to possibly a Ben and Jane story. Not sure what topic is could be but if still read it because this town and cast is magical every time Abby writes about it.
It was perfectly executed! I have to look past the annoying trope of fake dating and both pretending that they think the other doesn’t like them when they’re both clearly falling in love. But even without that set up I think they would have kept hanging out and falling it was easier for them both to get past their personal reserves so I’m happy they went down this path!
All of the outside characters again are just perfect! I would love to join the crazy Maddox family 😂❤️

Love, love, LOVE!! This was truly such a special romance between two completely realistic and authentic people. They were vulnerable, messy, and REAL. The writing is so witty and I loved their banter! It was laugh out loud funny but also so emotional. I loved every character and desperately want to be adopted by Jacob's family. Grandpa is a HOOT! Social anxiety is portrayed in a beautiful way and I loved the inclusive nature of it. All of the stars for this gorgeous book!

I absolutely loved this book! This was my very first Abby Jimenez book and I have no clue what I have been waiting for all this time.

This explored so many romances tropes in what I like to call an Emily Henry way. Meaning, it poked fun at many of the cliches of romances, making it a lighthearted read in general, but still packed an emotional punch with the depth of the characters. I loved Briana and Jacob and was rooting for them the entire time. I was maddened by their break up. Like I wanted to literally throw my kindle across the room, but that is a sign of a good book if you ask me. It made me feel everything- elation, devestation, and on top of it all, I laughed out loud. So so so many times.

I loved how Jacob was an absolutely perfect cinnamon roll. I was 100% all about it, and I loved how Briana had a journey she needed to go on to grow, but how she was kind enough from the start to accept others for who they are. I liked that she had some really high quality traits to balance out her flaws.

All in all, this was a great book. Although best character award is a toss up between Jafar and Grandpa for me.

I do not know how I got lucky enough to be able to read an ARC of this book, one of my most anticipated releases of 2023, but I am so grateful. Thank you NetGalley and thank you Forever.

Yours Truly is a book that is simultaneously fun and completely heart-wrenching. Failed first impressions leads to budding friendship leads to fake dating leads to wow real feelings who woulda thought! Pair that up with healing from the trauma of a failed relationship and learning that you are worthy of love no matter what your last relationship made you feel as well as ADORABLE letters? I'm in, I am invested, I am there.

I really, really loved this book. Jacob quickly became one of my new favorite MMCs of all time. I felt so seen by his anxiety and loved how it was handled. Especially everything Bri did to help him and try to make him more comfortable. I think Bri is everyone with anxiety's dream partner.

The only reason why it is not a solid 5 stars is because it uses a trope that is not my personal taste and it did make me enjoy the book a little bit less. But it did handle that trope very, very well. So I don't think most people will respond as negatively to it as I did.

Even with that though, it is a wonderful book. I think it'll go down as one of my favorite reads of 2023.

This was a very cute romantic comedy. Frustrating that the main characters don't just communicate. But a fake dating trope is always a little frustrating. Appreciate the depiction of social anxiety.

Abby Jimenez has become an auto-read rom-com author for me. She’s a woman of many talents and her writing always makes me laugh, despair, and swoon, all in a single book. This book really helped me finally understand what people mean by “book boyfriend” because I was swooning over Jacob! Another 5 star read!

Have you ever read a book at exactly the right time? Like the author peeked inside your soul, saw just what you needed at that moment, and crafted a tale that simply spoke volumes to your heart? Yours Truly is Abby Jimenez at her humorous and heartbreaking best. Brianna and Jacob (and Lieutenant Dan) have a love story for the ages, and it was a privilege to be along for the ride. I enjoyed catching up with the characters from Part of Your World, too, even Doug. This book is the equivalent of a warm hug and a dozen cupcakes. Pure bliss! 5 stars. Thank you to Forever Books and Netgalley for the chance to review this advance copy. Yours Truly will publish 4/11/23.

TW: Divorce, infidelity, miscarriage, struggle with anxiety

Briana Ortiz has reached an all time low in life, she is about to finalize her divorce, her brother is in dire need of a kidney transplant and the promotion she was guaranteed is now in jeopardy thank to the newbie: Dr. Jacob Maddox. After losing 7 patients in one day, Jacob has earned the nickname “Dr. Death” with all staff steering clear of his path. But all that changes the moment Jacob sends Briana a letter explaining a list of misunderstandings between the two and to both of their surprise, the letter continues. Each day Briana and Jacob grow closer and closer and when he turns up as a perfect match for her brother, he volunteers to be his donor. With Briana eternally in his debt, Jacob has a favor to ask which sets the course of their relationship to whole new level.

This is Briana’s story following her best friend Alexis’ in the book prior, “Part of Your World”. The emotion in this one was INTENSE Briana has been through so much trauma and the way the author describes and shows how her trauma has and is affecting her current decisions and behavior was very powerful. The characters in this one were incredible, I loved how fierce and protective Briana was of those she cared about even though I was a little upset at times of how she treated Jacob. JACOB. Good LORD this man. The cinnamon roll hero we all need in our lives that sets the book boyfriend bar to an unreachable high. I was fascinated with reading about Jacob’s struggle with his anxiety and could relate with him on a lot of it. I especially loved how Briana was very aware of how he was feelings and was very attentive to how he was feeling particularly in social settings. This book is packed with all the feels, fake dating, and a dash of rivals to lovers. However, there is MAJOR miscommunication in this one which I am personally not a fan of in romance. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a eARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This title will be released on April 11th for purchase!

Part of Your World was one of the best Romance book of 2022 and Yours Truly is just as good! I mean, this book was so good that I finished it all in a day that I was sick and feeling yucky. I couldn’t put it down and it felt like time just slipped away and before I knew it, the book was over.

Briana is caring for her sick brother and dealing with being newly divorced while Jacob is recovering from a recent break-up and dealing with constant intense anxiety. While these two are so different, they were absolutely perfect together and were the best enemies to friends to fake dating to lovers. The dynamic between the two felt organic and easy and I could just read 5 more books about them. The only thing I wanted more between Bri and Jacob was more letters! The letters have a strong presence in the first half of the book then kind of disappear for a while.

The fake dating was done so well and gave us so many cute moments between Briana and Jacob, that I’m sure you’ll still be thinking about these two for weeks to come.

Yours Truly will have you laughing out loud and then crying like a baby. You’ll instantly fall in love with these characters and wish the slow burn would hurry up!

I was going to give this book five stars but a last trope towards the end of the book left a bad taste in my mouth.

And for all of the Part of Your World lovers out there, Alexis and Daniel make a few appearances 🥰🥰

[Absolutely LOVED it]

The writing was phenomenal, as always. It’s so easy to get into Abby Jimenez’s books. I loved the characters, especially Jacob - I related to him on a lot of things and really appreciated the mental health representation. I really enjoyed the “Grey’s” vibes with both main characters being Doctors. I didn’t love the self-sabotage from Briana but it’s also sadly so relatable and I loved that the book was dual POV so you could see both sides. I loves that Alex and Daniel made appearances (Part of Your World characters). To wrap up - I absolutely loved this book. Highly recommend and make sure not to skip the author’s notes at the end. I so appreciated the author’s openness. 💔

This book was incredible! I loved the representation of mental illness, race, and sexual orientation. This book was absolutely laugh out loud hilarious. My stomach was hurting by chapter 3 from laughing so much. Initially I thought the book was long for a romance (rom com) but after reading it, it was worth every single page. I didn’t want it to end! There is great character development, and the author really allows the reader to connect with the main characters.
The book incorporates some very sensitive topics like pregnancy issues, divorce, mental illness, physical illness, cheating, and complicated family drama… but all of these topics are handled very well. I could relate completely to the anxiety representation in the book.
Jacob is for sure my new favorite book boyfriend! This book was funny, cute, emotional, and overall phenomenal. The perfect rom com! There’s no question, this book gets 5 stars from me!
I’d never read anything form this author and this was a great intro to her work! Will definitely be checking out more titles by this author! Thank you to Netgalley, Forever Publishing, and Abby Jimenez for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I don’t know how she does it but Abby’s books just keep getting better and better. That’s 5 stars for 5 books!!!! She never disappoints.

I just loved absolutely everything about this book and think she is doing amazing things by showcasing real people with real problems and showing how to sensitively navigate these issues.

Relationships are built on trust - a trust to protect our hearts and souls. The person we love should want to protect us and guide us and this is what briana and Jacob showcase. What a testament to what love is.

Read this book!

Ok ....so I'm going to admit I've had Abby Jimenez books on myself for years that are still unread.... but I am so happy to say, that is no longer the case. And what a book to start with!! From the moment I started reading, I knew I was going to love Briana and Jacob’s story. (I will no go back and read the other 4 that have collected dust)

I adore the way Jimenez develops her characters, from her two MCs, to all of the supporting ones. I can completely envision Jacob’s big, boisterous family (one I wish I could be a part of), as well as Briana’s friends and their feisty hospital colleagues. They all felt like very real people who exist entirely outside of the story. As someone who suffers from crippling anxiety, I loved the way it was represented in Yours Truly. I felt for Jacob every time he felt anxious, overwhelmed, socially awkward. just plain stressed out and unable to deal. I so appreciated the way Jimenez had Briana handle those situations. I cannot recommend this book enough. Definitely give it a read, as well as her backlist which I’ve begun to work through.

Thank you to Netgalley, Forever Publishing, and Abby Jimenez for an e-arc of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Yours Truly follows Brianna, who is struggling with the aftermath of her recent divorce while also trying to manage her brother’s sudden illness. When a new doctor, Jacob, starts working at the hospital everything gets even more complicated for Bri. She’s convinced he’s the enemy, there to take away her promotion and to make things harder for her. As Bri gets to know him, she realizes that she couldn’t be more wrong. Jacob has is own dilemmas, most importantly his brothers upcoming wedding….to Jacob’s ex girlfriend. Desperate to convince his family that he’s moved on Jacob tells his family that he has a girlfriend, now he must quickly find someone to pretend to be his date.

Do yourself a favor and read this book. Put down the book(s) you are currently reading and picking this one up. You won’t want to put it down. It’s the perfect combination of funny and feel good. Jacob and Bri have a beautiful love story and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to read it. This should have been an easy five star read but sadly in the last 10% there was an added trope that I felt really took me out of the book. But other than that, this book was an absolute delight. I can easily say that this book will be a top read of 2023 for me.

This book was phenomenal. I feel like Abby always hits it on the head for me. She always has trigger warnings at the beginning of her books, which I really appreciate. I’m also a Minnesotan, so just having a Minnesota romance is always a highlight.

As for the book itself, Bri and Jacob were amazing. Their connection and chemistry was so good. I love fake dating tropes, so I loved that aspect of it. I loved how tough Bri was and that Jacob was so self aware. The only thing I didn’t like was the miscommunication trope. Just not one of my favorites but thankfully that wasn’t the main trope. Will definitely recommend this book to everyone.

What an amazing book! I'm a big fan of Abby Jimenez, and this book did not disappoint. I couldn't put it down. The characters are well-rounded and the story is compelling. And as a bonus, reading the internal dialogue of the hero who suffers from anxiety has helped me to understand what my family member who has anxiety deals with. This is a must-read book!

Yours Truly has all the humor and heart that I love about Abby Jimenez’s. What a nice fast paced easy read with fantastic charter development. Bri brings Jacob a calm he needs unfortunately she can not bring that same calmness to herself. Self doubt in men takes this relationship on a rollercoaster ride. From fake dating to real love putting their mate first.

Oh, I love this story so much! I love the old fashion letters between Briana and Jacob. It was just so romantic. I loved how raw and honest Jacob’s anxiety was portrayed. Yours Truly had me laughing, squealing and sobbing.

In this novel by Abby Jimenez, we follow Dr. Briana Ortiz’s whose life has been turned upside down in the last year with a divorce and her brothers failing health. Not to mention he is up for a promotion that gets put on hold when a new Dr. joins the ER staff. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter.

I really enjoyed this book it was well written and had such a beautiful story. Jacob’s journey with anxiety, especially social Anxiety really resonated with me. I saw a lot of myself in him. I really enjoy a good fake dating story and this one was so sweet. Of course the jealousy and miscommunication is so nerve wracking but I’m happy with how this book ended.

This is the first book I’ve read of Abby Jimenez and it’s so cute! She has a wonderful writing style. I can’t wait to read more of her books. Definitely a 5 star read for me!
