LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
This story has been my favorite of Abby Jimenez’s works! Her story’s are always taking the reader on a journey filled with tears, laughter, and love! The main male character has become one of my favorite male leads in a romance books! The relationship between the main characters and the lessons the characters learned really stuck with me. You need to read this if you haven’t, you will definitely enjoy it!

Thank you so much to NetGalley for letting me read this book! I was not a big fan of her "Friend Zone" books but once I started seeing the early 5 star reviews on this one, I wanted to give her another try and it did not dissapoint. I absolutely loved the characters and the humor. I will totally be telling people about this one and I do see this being a top book for 2023!

I adored this book! It was funny, deep, adorable, and fun to read. I loved the characters and the story. As a huge Part of Your World fan, I couldn’t be happier with this book. I’m so grateful that I had a chance to read it!

Two doctors, a horrible first run in (literally), fake dating, cute letters, and giving love a second chance! ER doctor Brianna Ortiz has had a rough year: from her husband cheating on her with her friend to having a new doctor move into the hospital who might be after her job promotion and the fact that she can’t find a donor match for her brother’s kidney transplant. Finalizing her divorce to her husband and dealing with stress has made her snappy... so when she has a literal run in with the new guy at work who has been nicknamed Dr. Death for losing seven patients on his first day, she tries to be nice but he comes off as totally rude and she snaps. But to her surprise, Dr. Death, otherwise known as Dr. Jacob Maddox writes her the sweetest apology letter to explain himself and so begins an unlikely relationship. Bri writes him back and soon they begin sending each other letters and their letters become the highlight of each others day... and soon things take a turn. Jacob Maddox has anxiety, he’s been trying to deal with it but it’s hard, especially being the new guy at a work place. Jacob left his last job after his girlfriend broke up with him only to date his brother three months later.. and now they are engaged. Jacob just wants a fresh start but after a horrible day and his anxiety ramping up and up he might have come off as rude to the beautiful woman who ran into him, so he decides to write a letter, apologize and explain himself. What he never expected was to befriend her and to actually build a friendship with her, to actually finally know what it’s like to meet someone who just gets you because with Brianna, everything comes easy for him, he’s never felt more comfortable in his life. When he is invited to his brother’s wedding and pestered by his nosy family, he lies and says he has a girlfriend... and after getting to know Bri and realizing that he is a perfect match, he secretly donates his kidney for her brother... except she finds out and soon she agrees to be his fake girlfriend to his brother’s wedding... yet there is nothing fake about the way they feel about each other. Can they make this fake relationship real or will their past hurts ruin any chance of giving love a second chance? This was honestly the cutest and most heart warming story ever. I absolutely adored the relationship between Bri and Jacob, they were so empathetic, kind, and caring with each other, they understood one another and tried their best to communicate. They were just so stinking cute and I adored this book so much. It is definitely a must read!

I love this book so much that I want to go back in time and read it again for the first time. Yours Truly can be read as a stand-alone though it is part of the same universe as Part of Your World (which is amazing and I also love it). The writing and handling of sensitive topics were executed with obvious attention to detail and with expertise. Bri and Jacob are my favorite people, though no matter how he was described in the book in my mind he is Andrew Garfield from Under the Banner of Heaven. The fake relationship trope has just about worn me out and I didn’t think it could be done in a way that was fresh or unpredictable, but the author managed to make me a believer. Excellent character development and story building. I wanted to live in this book - it really is that good. This is more than an addition to the genre of romance or women’s fiction: it is a case study on very real scenarios that people live with and show those people for the pillars of strength and hope that they are.

I received an ARC courtesy of NetGalley and the author. The opinions are mine and I stand behind my review. Especially Jacob being Andrew Garfield.

This was my first Abby Jimenez book and I am now a huge fan of hers! I do think that the fake dating trope is a bit overdone at this point especially with an increase in the trope's use in recent years, but this book over comes that issue with great characters. The chemistry between the characters was incredible and while they may be existing within a not entirely unique plot, they still brought life to the story. I definitely will be reading Jimenez again in the future.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! It’s a fake dating trope and I ATE IT UP!! First of all can we just applaud Abby Jimenez for shedding much needed light to anxiety and how the Mind of someone with anxiety usually works. I have severe anxiety and have never related so much to a book.
This book is about Briana and Jacob, boy are ER physicians. They work together and become friends. Jacob has severe anxiety and he mainly communicates with her by writing her letters. Suddenly a little white lie gets Jacob into a mess when he lies to his family about having a girlfriend. Brianna and Jacob have to put on a show for the next few weeks but things suddenly take a turn when the chemistry and feelings begins to surface. This is a bit of a slow burn at first and usually I get impatient with slow burns but this one did it so well I barely noticed it! It was hilarious and cute. Thank you so much for the ARC NetGalley and Abby Jimenez!

Dr. Briana Ortize is happy in her work in the ER, but when Dr. Jacob Maddox arrives on the scene, she has to face the many ways her life is falling short of her expectations. Her younger brother is wasting away as he waits for a kidney donation and for months she's been dreading her official divorce from her two-timing husband. Jacob's friendship shows her that there are good men in the world, even if she wasn't married to one. Readers of PART OF YOUR WORLD will recognize Alexis and Daniel in this story, though reading that book certainly isn't a prerequisite for this one. Jimenez's portrayal of mental health conditions such as anxiety are sensitive and effective and she writes beautifully of Benny's experience with kidney failure.

I have already told all of my friends in the medical field to keep an eye out for this book. What a magical and heartwarming book. I cannot begin to describe the feelings I went through while reading this. For someone who has a loved one who deals with social anxiety, this was very eye-opening for me. With both main characters dealing with traumatic past relationships and coming together in the end, it really hit something in me and made me feel all fluttery inside. It was such a CUTE BOOK. It was funny, emotional, frustrating, and two characters made me want to shake some sense into them. When you read it you will know.

But over all, I would recommend this book to anyone. SOOO GOOD. This is a SLOW BURN book and it’s not extremely steamy. But that’s okay. It doesn’t make or break my score. Also, a three-legged Bernese Mountain Dog… you had me there. My favorite character in this book.

Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and Netgalley for the ARC.

"A novel of terrible first impressions, hilarious second chances, and the joy in finding your perfect match"

Let me start by saying that Abby Jimenez gets better and better with each book. I've read this book in two sittings and enjoyed every minute of it. I couldn't get enough of Bri and Jacob.

Abby did a couple things so well in this book. They deserve mentioning. Bri's divorce trauma and Jacob's social anxiety. And the letters! Don't even get me started on the letters! Abby's sophomore book THEAP has a special place in my heart thanks to all the flirty text messages in that book but she raised the bar in Yours Truly. The honesty and vulnerability in those letters just melted my heart.

If you are a romance reader I doubt you'd need any convincing to read this book. But believe me when I say this book is romance gold. Romance with heft is the best in my opinion.

Just a quick heads up though. This one is a slow burn and maybe the least steamy of the series. If that's what's you're looking for it would be good idea to adjust your expectations.

Thank you kindly to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the gifted eARC!

While the miscommunication trope is one of my most loathed, I absolutely adored this heartwarming story. From the well developed characters to the mental health representation and so much more, Jimenez is at the top of her game with this one.

And that author’s note at the end? 💔

Read if you like:

* Dual first-person POVs
* 3 legged dogs
* Friends to lovers
* Fake dating
* Hilarious dialogue

I have read all of Abby Jimenez's books and this was one of my favorites. The representation of the anxiety was done really well, especially in how to be a partner of someone with anxiety. Ever since I read Part of Your World I was hoping to get to see more from Bri, she is a perfect romance lead. Hilarious and fun, with a lot to unpack from her past. I think both Bri with her trauma and depression and Jacob with his anxiety learned how to be better versions of themselves by supporting each other and it was really beautiful to read about.

5 stars

This was one I didn’t want to end. I loved the everyday realness of the characters and their troubles. I especially liked how mental health was a thread woven through several characters without it taking centre stage. It was handled like many of us handle it, as something that can’t be ignored but also not the thing that defines us.

There were several weighty topics covered in this contemporary romance but they didn’t overtake the love story that was being told, nor did they become the tone of the book which remained light and hopeful.

Abby Jimenez has become a solid go-to author for me.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the dynamic between Brianna and Jacob - she is fun and the kind of friend I think every girl would love to have. Jacob is more reserved, but still extremely caring and loving in his own way. The way the conflicts in this book were handled was extremely tactful, and it's obvious Jimenez really did her research in terms of clinical anxiety. It was extremely easy to put myself in either Brianna or Jacob's shoes to feel what they're feeling, and to understand why. This might be my favourite Jimenez book to date!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...new Abby Jimenez book time! What a treat these books are and I love living inside Abby's brain--no one writes with more humor and heart.
The fake dating trope has been done since the early days of the bodice rippers, but Abby's characters all feel so real that Brianna and Jacob's story feels fresh and believable. All her characters have real problems and as someone with anxiety, it was pretty wild to read about Jacob and recognize a lot of my own thoughts and feelings. I did not expect to resonate with his character so much but honestly I felt so *seen.* I really appreciate the thoughtfulness and care that clearly went into writing that storyline. A nice bonus is always seeing past beloved characters pop up in the stories. Keep writing, Abby! I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Many thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and Netgalley for the ARC.

I adore Abby's writing, her characters, and story telling so much! This is another win for me and I laughed out loud several times throughout. I loved the glimpses into characters from previous books and the little Easter eggs throughout. Also - sad to hear this is the last book that will be set in this same world and no more Easter eggs in future books!

I loved Briana and Jacob's story of their first interactions, how they started to get to know each other through letter writing, and their deeper connection and progression into their personal lives. I am so glad that one of the secrets/conflicts was resolved early and wasn't lingering in the background for too long! I loved seeing how Briana helped to support Jacob's anxiety and

Abby also has a personal note at the end about her connection to a health issue in the book and it really made me appreciate this part of the story more. I did get frustrated with Briana for a bit though and her decision making/thought process but was still quite pleased with the overall outcome of the story! The middle part did slow down for me a bit as well with some necessary drama and miscommunication that felt annoying and frustrating as it progressed.

BOOK REVIEW: Yours Truly by Abby Jimenz

What a truly phenomenal book. Part of Your World is one of my top romances from 2022, and Yours Truly will definitely make the top of 2023.

This book has everything. Yes, it’s trope heavy (fake dating, forced proximity, friends to lovers, etc), but it all WORKS. The conflict makes sense. The emotions the characters voice and display make sense. Jacob and Briana’s love is beautiful, a poetic journey of healing, acceptance, trust, and finding oneself.

I loved both characters as individuals, but I loved them more together. Briana helped Jacob’s anxiety levels. Jacob helped Briana trust again. The two were broken, hurting, healing halves that formed a wonderful whole.

Abby’s writing in this one was a perfect balance of wit, humor, serious, lighthearted, and sexy. The tension and chemistry between Jacob and Briana was SO good without being spicy (half a pepper for a hot couch scene, and implied intimacy other times).

The tone of this book was a bit heavier than the other Abby Jimenz books I’ve read, but again, it works and it all has a purpose. I highly recommend checking trigger warnings for this story as it does contain a few.

Five out of five stars. There’s a reason the Goodreads rating for this one is so high. It’s well deserved. ❤️

FIVE STARS. ABBY DOES IT AGAIN.
I am a certified Abby Jimenez stan and this was an A+ book from her. I loved everything about it: the letters, the whole kidney donation storyline, the anxiety rep, it was all just the best. Why I love Abby's books is that they are wholesome romances that always have some tendency to make me cry. The characters feel so genuine, they go through experiences you feel even though its on a page, they are extremely memorable. I love Jacob and Bri and I just want the world for them and more.
