I’m typical Abby Jimenez fashion, she writes an unforgettable male lead and a strong willed powerful woman. I adored getting to know Jacob and Brianna. While I feel like the fake dating and the miscommunication trope are nothing unique, The character development was strong. Jacob is one of the sweetest men I have ever read about and Brianna was a breathe of fresh air. Overall I really enjoyed the story and the characters.
Thank you so much for the advanced readers copy of this one.
4 stars!

*ARC review — this book will be coming in 2023!*
I know I’ll always love an Abby book. This was no exception.
But this book did feel a little bit different than her previous books (with good reason once you read the person author’s note from Abby at the end of the book about her life and connections to this story she wrote).
It was more serious, and an extremely slow burn, compared to her previous stories. The beginning is fun and clever, and introduces the witty Bri, who we previously met in part of Your World, and Jacob, our main man who struggles with anxiety and has a heart of gold. Life is not going so well for either of them, and it’s a long road to find happiness and each other.
In typical Abby fashion, she creates a lovable cast of characters, weaves together multiple storylines, and brings back some favorite characters and references from previous books.
I look forward to listening to the audio version of this book when it’s available. I’m sure Abby will find the perfect narrators for these characters!
4/5 stars

Yours Truly features Briana (Alexis’s best friend in Part of Your World) and her new coworker, Jacob. This contemporary romance contains a fake dating trope and explores healing, family drama, moving on, and anxiety. Overall, I liked this book, but not as much as I loved Part of Your World. I loved the budding relationship and banter between Briana and Jacob. The dual POVs were great and it was interesting to read how each character was trying to handle or move on the current situations they were in and their struggles. I also really loved the side characters as well especially Jacob’s family members. It was great getting a glimpse into what Alexis and Daniel were doing from Part of Your World as well. The only part that didn’t work for me was the ending. It was too rushed and unrealistic. Also the part about Instagram in the storyline kept using Facebook terms like “wall” which was odd. . Though I knocked it down a star, it was a four star read for me and I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who loved Part of Your World.

I will always buy an Abby Jiminez book because she is amazing at what she does. She has the ability with each of her books to pull you in, make you fall in love with the MCs and the story lines are never the same.
In Yours Truly, you meet Bri and Jacob. Bri has sworn off men since she is finalizing her divorce from her cheating husband of 10 years. Jacob is struggling with his ex being with his brother. Both of them work in the ER and of course they could not stand one another until Jacob wrote Bri a letter because he is able to explain himself better with words rather than in person. They start sending notes back and forth and she finds out he needs a date to his brother's wedding where the bride is his ex-girlfriend. Bri takes on the task and meets his family. His family loves her, but can they cross the friendship threshold? Can she trust a man again? Is Jacob really over his ex?
You will fall in love with the MCs and everyone you meet in this book well except for a few people. Abby does it again. You will not be disappointed in this book!

Thanks to Forever publishing and Netgalley for the early copy of this one in exchange for a review.
I loved this one. Abby Jimenez seems to keep getting better with each book. I loved this story of two people ground through tough times who find each other at the right time. The storyline was so cute and I had a hard time putting this one down. Such an emotional and good read! Already got this one preordered!!

This is truly the perfect romance. Briana and Jacob are both very real, very imperfect and entirely relatable leads, and their love story is sweet, very funny, and spicy. I absolutely adore the way that Abby Jimenez sensitively portrays mental health issues, and how much care she takes developing her characters. Jacob’s anxiety, and Briana’s ability to help him through triggering situations, was so well written. I loved these characters and I didn’t want the book to end!

💌 Yours Truly 💌
I mean, how does Abby Jimenez do it? She is officially at the top of my auto-buy author list. I’ve read all her books and I will forever read what she writes. Her books are all so funny, heartfelt, and they will grab you and not let go! She tackles mental health with such sensitivity and other times she will have you laughing out loud! Probably my favorite part about her books is how she writes the sarcasm of the characters!
Dr. Brianna Ortiz didn’t have the life she expected. Her brother desperately needed a kidney transplant. She had given up on love and that happily ever after. She was going through a divorce and swore off men until Dr. Jacob Maddox entered the ER. Cue one of the best love stories I’ve read. 😭
I loved this book!

Book Review:
5 ⭐️’s
I’m not sure I’ll be able to say anything that hasn’t already been said, but I’m going to throw my thoughts into the void anyway.
Abby Jimenez can write a damn book. I’m sure she is talented in other areas of her life as well, but as a community can we all just collectively agree to protect her as an author with everything we have?
This book was spectacular from beginning to end. There was never a moment that I had to settle myself in and wait for it to get going, I was gripped from the beginning and invested immediately. The story was a flowing, living thing and I couldn’t stop reading it even if I wanted to. And I haven’t even touched on the characters. Brianna and Jacob were perfection. They had flaws. They had areas in their lives that seemed like dark spots, but they were lovely and sweet and hilarious and made you feel alive reading them.
You can find:
• fake dating
• forced proximity
• a short enemies to lovers start
• meaningful friendship
• meddling family
• anxiety representation (beautifully done)
• a three legged dog
• hilarious and fun Would You Rather questions
• swooning romance
It feels weird making a list like that because this book was so much more than that list could ever convey. Bottom line, this book will stay with me for years to come. This is a book every romance lover needs to read.

I absolutely love this book!!! I love Abby Jimenez and her books. And this book is definitely my favorite. I was hooked from the very first page.
In this book, we follow Bri, a soon-to-be-divorced ER doctor, and Jacob, an ER doctor from a different hospital. Bri is up for consideration to be the head of the ER department. Jacob just moved from another hospital to Bri's hospital. And Bri's supervisor, who is planning to retire, postponed his retirement so Jacob could also be considered for the promotion. You can imagine Bri's frustration with this.
Both characters have baggage, but they find comfort in each other after exchanging some letters. Jacob invites Bri to pretend to be his date to his brother's wedding to Jacob's ex. And well., you have to read the book to find out the rest. But this book is one of the best books ever!!!!
I love how Abby flushes out the characters, the character's development, and how she writes this book. It is such a cute, fun, HEA book. I love it.
Thank you, NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’d like to start this review by saying a big thank you to Netgalley for this Arc.
STORY OVERVIEW:
This story follows Briana and Jacob, ER doctors at a hospital. Briana is coming out of a bad divorce and Jacob is healing from a bad breakup. Briana and Jacob's first interactions go terribly. Eventually, Jacob decides a hand written apology is the best course of action. Let me tell you, I lived for these letters. I lost count on how many times I laughed out loud.
WHAT I LOVED:
I really appreciated how Briana was able to support Jacob with his anxiety. The little accommodations she considered to make him feel at ease was so heartwarming. I also loved the funny moments, especially in the letters.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
The miscommunication in this book was frustrating. Additionally, I wish this book didn’t have third act breakup, especially considering how long it took for them to communicate.
Tropes:
- Workplace romance
- Fake Dating
- Slow Burn

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. Both of the main characters were so complex & dealing with multiple things going on in their lives. Briana had her hands full dealing with her divorce and her brother’s kidney disease, on top of trying to become chief in the ER. Jacob was starting a new job (at Bri’s ER), dealing with the fact that his ex-girlfriend was now engaged to his brother, and suffering from social anxiety. I also need to mention that Jacob was *finally* not 6’2” with seventeen thousand muscles and the V-line and all of that typical romance hero stuff that gets redundant after a while. But he was still hot!! Plus, he journaled, had a plant room, a rescue dog, looked up the menu way ahead of time, and didn’t like loud parties. Sign me up! They were both relatable, funny, intelligent, family oriented. Predicting their arrangement was a no-brainer, but witnessing them pine for each other while the other was doing the same, unbeknownst to them, was heartbreaking and exciting all at once. And when Jacob let Briana see inside of his soul, that was the most beautiful moment of all. That he could be the one to teach her it was okay to trust again, that they sort of healed each other from their pasts, was just such a real and believable story.

This story unfolded in such a real and sweet way. Abby balances hardship with happy here in a way that leaves you comforted and happy in the end.

This was amazing. I’m so glad I was approved for this. The story was engaging and I cannot wait to read more from
This author.

A huge thank you to Forever (Part of Grand Central Publishing) for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinions and review.
First, I have to say it is no secret that I am a huge fan of Abby Jimenez - the person and the author! It started when I first read Abby's responses to her now (in)famous Vageode cake from her NadiaCakes Bakery. (If you have no idea what I am talking about, do yourself a favor and google it and thank me later!) Abby's wit is unparalleled and I knew then I would read absolutely anything she wrote - and I have. So it really, really means something when I tell you that Yours Truly is hands down my favorite Abby book to date. You can read a synopsis of the story on any book website so I won't do that here, but what I will tell you is that this book is heart-warming and laugh-out-loud funny full of all the romance and none (well, not much) of the schmaltz. It is absolutely a five-star read. The only disappointment is that I have to wait for yet another Abby book to read!

Briana Ortiz has just finalized her divorce from her cheating husband, and has sworn off men. The new ER doctor working alongside her is also rude and she can't stand him. But then Dr. Jacob Maddox writes her a letter explaining himself, and they start writing back and forth. Once they strike up a friendship, she finds out that he needs a fake girlfriend for his brothers wedding...to his ex-girlfriend...and is happy to take on the task. She loves his family and spending time with him, and he might change her mind on men.
God I loved this version of the fake dating trope. The attraction and tension between the two MCs, the dual perspectives and the way they were handing out was just so sweet. There was also so much fun drama between the families.
The depiction of Jacob's anxiety was really tastefully written, as well as the insight into Briana's brother, Benny's, kidney failure and transplant needs. Reading the author's note at the end, I was inspired by Abby Jimenez pulling from her own experiences to write about him. Her books often include chronic illnesses and mental health, which she's really great at writing about.
Spoilers: I loved how there wasn't a whole "admitting it" part to fake dating, it was original. I didn't love miscarriage as a plot twist or the third act breakup in this one, but I still loved the ending very much and it made me cry! That's the only thing that brought this from a 5-star to a 4-star.

It's no secret that Abby Jimenez quickly became one of my favorite authors. Her writing is so captivating, I think in part because she knows people - how they think, feel, talk, and love. I can relate with both Brianna and Jacob, having overcome trauma from past relationships & coping with anxiety. Jacob tops the list as my favorite book boyfriend - kind, hot with a plant room & Bernese mountain dog! Swoooon. When you pick up one of Abby's books, you know that you will feel all of the emotions and Yours Truly was no different. Now all I want to do is go back and reread all of Abby's books.

Thanks to the publisher & Netgalley for the complimentary e-ARC. All opinions provided are my own.
I’m on the decidedly wimpy side of the angst-meter but when my book bestie Kim @bookbruin said the magic words about Abby Jimenez’s upcoming release, Yours Truly—EPISTOLARY ELEMENTS—I decided to snap it up.
What did I think? Per my usual experience reading this author, I thought the book was exceptionally written & funny but the angst goes a *smidge* too far.
There’s pretty much always a moment with this author’s work where I think: this additional bit of angst isn’t necessary .
But with that being said, this story is adorable & sweet & I so enjoyed watching too lonely ER doctors who have been burned by love & start off with big dislike on the heroine’s part turn to friendship via letters & emails & calls & then to a fake dating sitch & then to love.
The overall story is lovely, not to mention how funny some of the lines are. One of them in particular really cracked me up.
I also love the anxiety rep, the care they take with each other, how hero Jacob consistently puts himself out there for Briana & how much she tries to protect his peace of mind & comfort.
Jacob running to the cafe toward the beginning of his relationship with Briana just so he’ll have phone service for her call is stunning & Briana is a powerhouse of a lead.
So in the end, this is quite a book. I think there could have easily been less angst & that would have been preferred by me personally. But this is a wonderful story of two people falling in love & choosing to be together.
4.5⭐️. Out 04/11.
CWs: Cheating ex. Brother & ex. Brother on dialysis. Kidney failure. Anxiety. Former miscarriage. Reference to postpartum depression.

Hear me out. It’s 5 am and I am crying in bed after finishing this book and reading the Author’s note. I can barely put into words the emotional roller coaster Abby Jimenez put me through. When the characters felt angry, I shared that anger. When the characters felt helpless, I felt helpless for them. When they were sad, I was sad. And when they radiated happiness off the pages, I could feel myself smiling as I kept reading.
I loved Part of Your World which was, in large part, why I was so excited to receive an ARC copy of Yours Truly (thank you NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing!). But this book exceeded my expectations.
Also, listen, I started Chicago Med for the first time in between reading this and when I saw Dr. Halstead on screen I was blown away because he was EXACTLY how I pictured Jacob Maddox. Abby, if he was your inspiration, I get it. I totally do.
All that being said, this one is a must read. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll never want it to end. You’ll read about mental health, family struggles, relationship fails, and past traumas. Not your average fake dating trope, in my opinion. As a person in her 30’s, the age bracket of the MCs was also a bonus. Sometimes you just need to read romance stories about people in their 30’s and not 20’s.

it's Abby Jimenez. She is an Auto buy for me and this book will be no different. This book was written so well, the banter was top notch, and I loved the characters! Abby does a phenomenal job of weaving the fake dating trope with real life situations (divorce and anxiety) and the chemistry between the lead characters was something I felt in the real world. Abby captivated me from start to finish and love her even more!
Thank you to Abby, Netgalley, and Forever for this copy in exchange for an honest review!

Another excellent read from Abby Jimenez. I love that I can always count on Jimenez to wrap up the story with a satisfying ending and fill it with a uniquely, endearing cast. Similar to the rest, Yours, Truly was one I easily read in one sitting. I particularly loved the main characters, Jacob and Briana. Perhaps the fact that the two were ER doctors made them even more likable. It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for the fake relationship trope. Where this fake relationship plot differs a bit from the norm is that miscommunication keeps the fake relationship going. Jacob and Brianna could have easily become a couple with some simple communication at the onset of the story. This was equal parts maddening and intriguing. Despite their oblivion, I was rooting for them the entire time. This one releases in April of 2023 and is a great one to read beachside or otherwise. Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for an advance review copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.
