4.5 stars rounded up.
The miscommunication is the only thing preventing this book from being 5 stars, it was so long and repetitive, “he doesn’t love me, he’s in love with someone else”.
However, this book was the sweetest thing and I really loved it. I adore Jacob as a main character, I love the way briana anticipated his needs. I love the letters they wrote to each other. The ending was super sweet. Overall I adored this.

I read this one whim based on the reviews on how good it was. It really was worth the hype. I loved the letter exchange, the anxiety representation. I think I will go back to read Part of Your World.

I've been waiting for this story impatiently since I finished reading Love, Lilly back in February. The wait was definitely worth it! Oh, my heartstrings! I could NOT put this book down, it was so incredibly sweet and endearing. It was an emotional ride at parts but as expected, it all came full circle for the HEA.

Amy is one of my favorite characters! I found her personality to be very relatable. I get bored with hobbies real fast, I am a perfectionist and overachiever, and I can be very guarded with my heart and feelings. I understood her hesitations with love and even though miscommunication is one of my least favorite tropes, it made sense with this storyline and made the character growth more realistic.

Lucas is like some mythical man that is absolutely perfect. He is such a gentle character and very affectionate and loving. I enjoyed how he wanted to take care of Amy and do things for her.

One of my favorite parts of this book was the emails at the end. I loved that Amy owned up to her mistakes. It's refreshing to see character growth on that level.  My least favorite part was Amy's mother. Seriously, the woman needs to take it down a notch and chill. Since it's a closed-door romance there is no smut but there is lots of steamy swooning. Overall I give this book 4 stars because I loved the plot, I enjoyed the characters, and the storyline was very engaging.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Abby Jimenez has become one of my favorite authors in the past year.

Abby pours out her heart in this book through the incredible characters. Anyone dealing with family medical issues will appreciate this story. Truthful and helpful in many ways.

Don't hesitate to read this and all of Abby's book. (She's fantastic on Instagram.)

Thank you netgalley and publisher.

This book was my favorite of all Abby Jimenez's books! I related so much to reading it as I have anxiety and love a good old fashioned hand written letter. Abby continues to tear at our hearts by addressing real issues in her books and that is one of the main reasons why I adore her as an author.

4.5 stars I really loved this novel...from the notes written back and forth, to the witty banter, to the open discussion of anxiety. It was just fantastic. I really love when romcoms have characters who are strong, smart, and kind even when dealing with whatever issues they are bringing to the table. Both Bri and Jacob were this type of character. Bri is recovering from a recent divorce from her cheating ex, up for a promotion at work, and worried about her brother who has kidney disease. Jacob's is the new doc in the ER, his brother is marrying his ex, and he struggles with crippling anxiety. I was along for the ride as these two came together in such a fun and beautiful way. I definitely want to read more from Abby Jiminez.

Yours Truly was just the second Abby Jimenez book I've read and I now fully understand why her books have been so beloved for (what seems like) so long! This book, the second in her Part of Your World series, was so lovely and I very much enjoyed reading it.

Here’s the book’s description:
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter.
And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan. Worse, he might be this fantastically funny and subversively likeable guy who’s terrible at first impressions. Because suddenly he and Bri are exchanging letters, sharing lunch dates in her “sob closet,” and discussing the merits of freakishly tiny horses. But when Jacob decides to give Briana the best gift imaginable—a kidney for her brother—she wonders just how she can resist this quietly sexy new doctor . . . especially when he calls in a favor she can’t refuse.
You don’t really have to read Part of Your World before Yours Truly. I did though and would recommend you do too simply because it was so enjoyable (review here). It’ll help make some of the little references make more sense but you won’t be lost if you start with Yours Truly.

I love that Briana and Jacob wrote each other letters and that’s really how they got to know each other. Their initial meeting was, well, not great but they were smart enough to realize they both had a few preconceived ideas of the other and, through the letters, were able to communicate and start a friendship. It was quite shockingly adult of them! (Not something you always see in romance novels!) I loved watching their friendship turn into something more and was completely and totally behind their romance from the get go.

There’s some good anxiety rep in this one - but know I say this as someone who hasn’t been diagnosed with anxiety. I still know that seeing mental health discussed in romance books is a huge freaking deal and I appreciate Jimenez including it in her novel.

And also - Jacob’s dog being named Lieutenant Dan? COME ON. Too good.

Abby Jimenez has written another romance that will fill you up with all the feels in the best possible way. Yours Truly will make you smile, swoon, and probably sob. But that’s part of the magic of Jimenez’s novels and I hope you discover that magic soon for yourself!

*An egalley of this novel was provided by the publisher, Forever, via NetGalley, in exchange for review consideration. All opinions are honest and my own.*

Abby has done it again by evoking all the feels while simultaneously shedding light on real life issues that affect multitudes of people. How Jacob's anxiety is described, how he handles it and how various people interact with him, really opened my eyes to how my actions and words affect those dealing with anxiety. My favorite character is a toss up between Jacob's Grandpa and the parrot. Guess you have to read it to find out why!

I was almost instantly hooked on "Yours Truly". Jimenez' pacing, as well as the prose, were great and it was a breeze to read this; this doesn't mean that emotional moments lose their impact, however. I fell in love with the characters and had a blast with them.

I don't always love healthcare themed romance novels as someone who actually works in healthcare, but this one more focuses on the romance outside of work which I really liked. I got to focus on the characters and their love story rather than focusing on the medical content. I also really loved the fact that the male character struggled with mental health issues because it doesn't often get recognized.

I thought this book started off great, I was totally invested, the writing was good, but then it massively dragged for me.
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s has a lot going on in her life, a divorce that is finally going through, up for a promotion that should be hers no problem, and her dear brother needs a new kidney.
The promotion that should be hers is possibly going to the new doctor who was hired, Dr. Jacob Maddox. Briana has all the qualifications for the job minus being a man. Unfair!

To make matters worse, Dr. Jacob is the worst! Or it seems that way until he writes her an apology letter. It gets pretty cute when they send each other letters back & forth.

I loved that Jacob seemed to have neurodivergent qualities going on. I related to him so I definitely enjoyed that aspect with the social things he struggles with. I would love to see a female character like that ie like me, not gonna lie. It would be nice to see someone like me have a romance. Men seem less accepting than women but I’ve digressed…

I felt like there was too much unnecessary back and forth with this book. It was very frustrating to me. However, overall I still enjoyed the book and was glad I read it.

Thank you to @netgalley and @readforeverpub for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Argh! Abby Jimenez got me again. Part of Your World was one of my top reads in 2022, and I just know Yours Truly is a top read for 2023.

Paging Dr. Bri Ortiz….and Dr Death….wait, what?! That’s right, the new guy at the hospital carries the nickname Dr Death after losing seven patients in one day. Despite how rude he was to Bri she she tried to console him, he writes her the sweetest letter starting a series of notes back and forth.

I love how vivid and real the characters are in Jimenez’s books. I want to be friends with them all! She also writes about the realness of anxiety and how it impacts the persons life as well as the lives around them. Her way with words and ability to tell stories pulls at every heartstring I have.

This book and really anything by Jimenez is a must read!

5 stars

4.5 rounded down. Abby as always made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions. The ending had me cringing a bit which I think is why this wasn't a full 5 stars for me.. but as usual the story was moving, and the chemistry was perfect.

The way I wanted to read this book again immediately after finishing it. Its like a warm hug that you just want to lose yourself in. The book starts with ER doctor Brianna Ortiz having to reassure the nurses that the new ER doctor, Jacob Maddox, is not Dr. Death. Which is made more difficult when he loses his seventh patient of the day. To make matters worse the chief is considering Dr. Death as the new chief once he retires, not Brianna. Then to top it all of he is rude! Brianna is angry and doesn't have time for drama or the boys club she works with, she has a chief of staff position to win and a brother who desperately needs a kidney transplant.

Then one day a letter appears for her from none other than Jacob. Se begins to learn more about him and suspects that he may be a better person than she had harshly judged him to be. That is confirmed when he finds out he is a donor match for Bri's brother and wants to anonymously donate. He doesn't want the attention it will bring just to ease Bri's troubles in any way he can. Even though Bri wasn't supposed to know she finds out who the donor is and is so appreciative of this she agrees to be his date to his brother and ex girlfriends wedding.

As they get to know each other through their fake dating charade they begin to understand that maybe its not a charade anymore.
