I'm really loving that witchy rom coms are such a big thing right now. They are just so fun and Not You're Ex's Hexes is a great follow up in the Supernatural Singles series.

Here we follow Rose a witch who is trying to figure out what to do with her life after stepping down from a position she trained most of her life to fill. And Damian a half demon doing everything he can to hold onto his humanity after being cursed by an ex to lose his soul if he ever fell in love ( fingers crossed this works out better than it did for Angel). But seriously Damian 😍 he’s just so grumpy and delicious I love him.

This sets up the third book perfectly and I'm waiting (im)patiently for Olive and Bax’s book.

Fun to have a witchy book for love month. It’s a nice breakaway from the typical offerings! Very Charmed and I really liked it. I didn’t realize it was a sequel so I’m hoping it’s a standalone. I enjoyed but curious if I missed things that would have connect to book one! Ill probably do a reread together in the fall.

A witch trying to find her feet, a broody half-Demon trying to do the right thing, an animal sanctuary rehabilitating mistreated and abandoned animals, and NO STRINGS ATTACHED??? Sign. Me. Up.

Rose Maxwell’s life plan has been disrupted. She’s no longer the Prima in Training. And she’s no longer engaged to a cheating, evil, power hungry shifter. (Good riddance.) But what is she supposed to do with herself now?

Damian Adams is back in town and is just trying to keep his soul. He cares for animals. He has occasional hookups. He gave up his Hunting and the prospect of love long ago.

But then Rose is sentenced to community service at his animal sanctuary. And they may have had a one night stand before. And there is definitely still chemistry there. He certainly doesn’t want to trigger any of the conditions of the Soul Hex his high school girlfriend placed on him. Can Damian and Rose partake in some no strings action without developing feelings?

I was hooked from the start. Rose trying to find her place is both entertaining and endearing. Damian is just plain delicious. And their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS.

We get more of the delightful Maxwell sisters’ dynamic, glimpses into other family dynamics of Supernatural Council members, visits with the guys, and a healthy dose of Prima Edie Maxwell being awesome.

There’s an excellent mix of lightheartedness, humor, and depth and plenty of steam. Plus I just adore watching a man—who is staunchly against falling in love—in the process of falling head over heels.

And, in the end, Rose ends up finding her place—both as an independent woman and as one in love—after all.

I see a reread of this one in my near future.

I received an advance copy from St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley. All review opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this second book in this series. It was a quick, fun read but with a lot of heart. I loved the grumpy demon vet and the entire cast of characters. I hope we get to see a Julius book eventually.

Asher has done a good job at filling this world with interesting intrigue with the Council and balancing it with family and friend dynamics.

I found this even more delightful than the first novel and cannot wait to read more.

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Griffin, and April Asher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

First, can we talk about the cover? How beautiful is that?! The color instantly caught my eye. Okay, second, I really liked this book, I love a good forced proximity.

I really liked Rose and Damian together. They were a really cute couple. Plus Damian is a Veterinarian. bonus points!

I was excited to jump back into the Maxwell sisters' lives with this one. And the author did not let me down. This sequel to Not the Witch You Wed followed Rose Maxwell's story after stepping down from her place as the Prima Apparent. I really enjoyed watching Rose's journey from floundering in life to knowing exactly what she wanted for her future. This one offered the perfect mixture of sweet and spicy. The steamy scenes were not overdone which made for a very enjoyable read. I always enjoy revisiting couples from previous books and it was great to meet up with Vi and Lincoln again. So far, the Supernatural Singles series has been excellent! I highly recommend reading it!

“Intentions don’t mean squat when it comes to matters of the heart.”

Thank you April Asher, St. Martin’s Griffin, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Available 2/7/23.

For her entire life, Rose Maxwell trained to become the next Prima on the Supernatural Council. Now that she's stepped down, it's time to focus on herself. And not think about her impulsive one-night stand with Damian Adams, a half-Demon Veterinarian. Neither of them is looking for a relationship. But when Rose is sentenced to community service at Damian's animal sanctuary it becomes impossible for them to ignore their sparking attraction. A friends-with-benefits, no feelings, no strings arrangement works perfectly for them both. After a sequence of dead-end jobs, it's not until Rose tangos with two snarly demons that she thinks she's finally found her path. However, this puts Damian back on the periphery of a world he thought he left behind. Working-and sleeping-together awakens feelings Damian never knew he had. and shouldn't have. Because thanks to his ex's hex, if he falls in love, he'll not only lose his heart-but his humanity.

If you love witty banter, the forced proximity trope, and sassy sister witches, this book is for you! This series gives me “Charmed” vibes and I absolutely love it. This was a quick and fun read that you should definitely give a try. I gave “Not Your Ex’s Hexes” 4 ⭐️’s.

A fun lighthearted romance full of glorious twists and turns. Crackles with energy, wit, and a creative romance. One not to be missed.

Paranormal romcom with demons and witches and shifters. I was very excited for book 2 especially because Rose is an interesting character. I guess I was hoping there was going to be more magic in this book. It had some, it had a lot of everything, saving an animal clinic, bounty hunting, fuck buddies, a hex, demon portals… overall pretty cute.

Thanks to NetGalley and St Martins Press for an eARC.

Not as charming as the first in the series. This one was mostly juvenile humor and miscommunication, which did not land very well.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the arc.

This is the followup to Not the Witch you Wed following the middle of the triplets, Rose. You should read the first book before going into this one because I feel like you will miss out and not understand the growth Rose has in this book.

I adored the first one and adored this one as well. April Asher just writes fun characters that have great banter. Also, her side characters add such fun and quirkiness to the story. I especially adored the introduction of Miguel and Terrrance in this book. I love this world that April Asher has built that is very much paranormal but with all the pop culture references that we know.

I can't wait for the third book which will focus on Olive and I'm hoping there will be a fourth as well. We need a Harper book!

I’ve never read any of April Asher’s books before, and went in to this book essentially blind.

I won’t lie, when I first picked it up, I put it down pretty fast. I almost DNFd it because I just didn’t get in to it.

However, I picked it back up yesterday and I’m glad I did.

While this book starts off kind of slow, about 30-40% in it really picked up and immersed me in to the world of Damian and Rose. I loved the spin on the ignorant bad body turned good guy and the intelligent female. Mix in some demon and witch = Wha lah!

Very enjoyable! The author’s writing didn’t always work for me but I thought this was a fun read. I look forward to reading the rest of the series! The supernatural world in this series is really interesting.

cute romance with an interesting side plot. I liked both the fantasy side and romance part of the book, neither was overpowering the other. I really like both the main characters and the problems that were covered through them. It was a fun and cute read!

Not Your Ex's Hexes is the follow up to Not the Witch You Wed and has all the amazing banter of the first book with a new couple to fall in love with. Rose and Damian are so much fun, even when you want to smack them to make them admit their feelings! The world the author has created with these books is the perfect combination of fantasy and real life and I look forward to hopefully getting Olive's book next!

I really enjoyed this book. It was so fun to watch them go from a “fake” relationship to falling in love with each other. I wanted to yell at her family for the way they treated her. I would recommend this book.

My review could possibly have spoilers. Let me start out by saying I didn't read the first book in this series, and I don't think it needs to be read. It was a good standalone.

This is my first April Asher novel and I thought it was cute. Rose(a witch) is trying to find where she belongs. The former prima apparent now has time on her hands to do just that. She also has time to find her self in hot water with the council. Which leads her to do service hours at a Sanctuary owned by Damian Adams, who is half demon half human.

While working together they form an agreement to be each other's FB. No strings attached no anything. But we all know how that goes.....

I enjoyed the banter between the two MCs and the side characters. Asher does a good job with details.
What I didn't like was all the eyebrow(s) raising. It felt like it was done on every other page. The beginning was a little bit slow for me as well.

Thank you to #netgalley and #stmartinspress for this ARC for my honest review.

I was so excited to read Roses story after the first book. Rose had been training all her life for a role she didn't necessarily want nor did she get to fulfill. Girl needed a break...so what better way to let loose than a one night stand. Enter Damien - reformed bad boy/demon hunter turned vet / manages an animal sanctuary. She is sentenced to community service after an incident where she tries to rescue some horses....that didn't need to be rescued. Enter forced proximity/workplace romance. I very much enjoyed their story and I can't wait for the rest of the series.
