Supernatural (both the show and the genre) fans, check this one out! A witch and a half demon walk into a bar… no, really! From a quick hot hookup to running an animal sanctuary together was not an arc I expected but I liked it! Damian had me every time he said “little witch”. Loved the triplets. Loved the Buffy references. Will look for the others in the series.

Such a cute and fun read during this time of year! What is there not to love about a half-demon vet and a spunky witch?! However, we all know that friends with benefits never work... someone always catches feelings.
I loved Rose and Damian- their banter was absoulutely fabulous and made this book so enjoyable.
The atmosphere was incredible and the theme of finding your true self made this book something I will definitely re-read. I have not yet read the first in the series, but am automatically going to read the next in the series.

Thank you to the publisher and author for an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.

Another fun book in the Supernatural Singles series.
The last time we saw Rose Maxwell, she was unseated as the next Prima on the Supernatural Council by her older sister, much to her relief, and unloaded her vile fiance. Now, Rose is trying to figure who she actually wants to be after spending her whole life being groomed for Prima.
Not Your Ex's Hexes follows Rose's adventures in self-discovery and finding love with bad boy/demon turned grumpy veterinarian, Damian Adams.
As a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I loved all the references and call backs in this book. This book makes me feel like I am living in the demon world created in Buffy and Angel, where demons, witches, shifters and more live in a loose-harmony with "normies".
The romance was very hot with great banter and sexual tension leading into Rose and Damian's no-strings attached, friends with benefits situation.
Damian has his own hang ups, of course, and he was a lovable grump.
There was some action, which I thought was fun and well-executed.
Again, I love the secondary characters and the world that April Asher has created. This is a really fun series and Not Your Exes Hexes was a great addition.

Not Your Ex's Hexes is a grumpy and sunshine lovers rom-com story. It features a grumpy half-demon and a curvy sunshine witch. They both have sworn off love due to their past relationships going wrong. As they are forced to work with each other, they get to know each other and their undeniable chemistry becomes harder to deny. They soon agree to be friends with benefits and nothing more. The reason I did not give it 5 stars was that although I enjoyed it, at times it felt like it was dragging and the banter seemed forced, there were moments where I would put it down and wasn't in a rush to continue reading it.

This series just keeps getting better!
In April Asher’s next Supernatural Singles novel, Not Your Ex's Hexes, a one-night-stand between a willful witch and a broody half-demon conjures an adventure that wouldn’t be complete without several magical mishaps.

Rose Maxwell has stepped down from being the next Prima of the Supernatural Council and is left searching for her 'purpose' in life. Damian Adams is a broody retired half-demon bounty hunter who has become a veterinarian of a rescue shelter in need of cash influx and support. A hilarious mishap and misunderstanding lands Rose having to volunteer her time at the rescue shelter and sparks begin to fly!

Takeaways: April Asher is the queen of witty banter, and down right hilarious comebacks and one-liners from her female main characters. Her writing is fresh and FUN and I am now fully invested in each of the triad sisters' lives (Vivian Maxwell from Book 1 (Not the Witch You Wed), and *fingers crossed* for Olive Maxwell's story in Book 3?) She is also the queen of contemporary steamy encounters. Damian was one hot, selfless, swoon-worthy lover. Seriously. You can now call me a demon-lover. Lastly, Asher's storylines are exciting and quickly develop into page-turners you can not put down. I really love the way her leading ladies are self-sufficient badass witches who do not need to be saved or rescued by their partners, have unique and different personalities, but remained bonded to their sisters, families, and friends. I want to move to New Your City and be their friends!

Some minor spoilers await if you haven't read the first novel in this series !!

I am really loving April Asher's Supernatural Single's series so far, and was so excited to be approved for this arc. In the first book "Not the Witch You Wed", Rose seemed like such a serious character, who cared so much for her family. In "Not Your Ex's Hexes", we got to see a little more of her personality, which is hecka stubborn, but also soft and squishy.

In this novel Rose is lost, as she is no longer the Prima Apparent, she doesn't know what to do with her life. She trained so hard for as long as she could remember, and now feels as if she no longer has a purpose. Throughout the novel, she tried many different things, but I feel she came to realize that what she does isn't who she is. Rose herself defines that by her actions, and the people she surrounds herself with.

Damian. This guy I tell ya.. talk about stubborn! lol But I feel he was a shining character in this novel, and we got to know him a little better than we did Rose. We got to see tidbits of his past, that helped the reader to understand why he was the way he was. It showed how he had grown from a little hellion hunter, to the grumpy outside, but soft centered man he is at present. The fact that he cared about animals more than people was a definite vibe, and one that I wholeheartedly feel to my core. I absolutely adored that he was a vet, and ran a sanctuary for animals! I would have liked to have learned more about Miguel, and how those two came to be the family that they were.

The chemistry between Rose and Damian was palpable and well written. The angst between them was great, and made me root for them even more. The hex part, and how it was 'resolved' didn't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe it just wasn't explained in a way I could compute,. but I feel like it was a little too easy? That could just be me.

Damian's brother played a significant role in this book, him being the demon rep for the council. In the beginning, I wasn't sure if he was going to be a character I liked or hated, but it became pretty obvious that he wasn't as evil, at least anymore, as one would have thought initially. I would have liked to have learned more about him, so I could better understand his redemption arc, and really get behind it. I would love to have understood more why he changed, and if it was genuine or not. It did feel genuine, especially how he showed he cared about Rose. My favourite line in the whole book came from Julian, while he was 'bantering' with Rose.: "Bastard has more charisma than Charisma Carpenter" <3 all the Buffy references. At times, I felt the banter was a little forced, or trying to hard, but then we would get gems like this one! loved it !

There are moments in here where we see the set up for the 3rd installment with Bax and Olive, and I cannot wait for that one to come out! I feel like Olive speaks to me as a character, as she a booknerd too, and I always have a soft spot for a main character who, when she moves, has 12 boxes filled with books!!

Also I was today years old when I realized that their names match the colour their magic is LOL!

I recommend picking up this series, it has a supernatural element, spicy love interests, and lots of laughs :)

This book surprised me in the best way! I was looking for a fun spooky read and had never heard of this author. It was so cute and fun! The setting of the town was so perfect and the witty banter of this romance was on point! Will definitely check out more of this author!!

I was so excited to read this book and it did not disappoint! Asher caught my attention with "Not the Witch You Wed" and has completely sealed the deal with "Not Your Ex's Hexes". This book was everything I wanted out of a supernatural romance. Rose and Damian were fantastic together with off the charts chemistry and way more in common then it might immediately seem on the surface. Outside of that, my favorite part was getting to see more of Rose and how she dealt with all of the life changes that she went through in the first book. She had to completely rewrite her major life plans and it was great to see how she eventually came to terms with that.

It's a cute book with a handful of smut.
I liked that it had a good plot to it beyond just the romance.
The handsome half demon vet was having issues with his sanctuary and Rose, the previous head witch in charge who needs a steady job, came in and helped out.
It has a lot of the romantic troupes in it but they made me laugh and kept me intrigued.

Overall: 3.5/5 but I rounded up.

Literally could not stop laughing. Thank you so much to the author and the publisher for the ARC.

Now hear me out, I lost my fall / Halloween vibe very fast so didn't read the first one, but now I really will. Rose is great and the banter with Damian was real. Plus the sexy time was on another level!

Full of witchy-ness and family. A lovely time!

This book takes place after the first book in this series and it's about Rose, the second sister in the triad. All of her life she was being trained to be the Prima Apparent, because she was the most powerful witch in her triad.

Violet from Not The With You Wed, was the oldest sister bur her powers were dormant for a long time. She didn’t think she had the power to be the Prima Apparent, which we learned with not true in her book.

“We’re not leaving you! Witches who ride together, die together.”

Now that Rose is released from her duties she's not really sure what to do with herself. So she's trying to find herself and she what she's good at. Rose is also trying to not be as rigid as she was.

“Attempted horse theft. Horse-napping? Horse thievery? I don’t know what the hell to call it. She said something about Operation Equine Freedom and I was too damn afraid to ask.”

It was every night, so frequently that Harper was half-convinced she was having a secret affair—or had a membership to a pleasure club. According to the succubus, that’s how soaked in pheromones she’d become. Or to quote the sex demon verbatim, “You’re extra horny lately, Rose.”

Damien is a half demon that was on the wrong track and was deep into the wrong path that he was hexed by his ex girlfriend. Then he decided he needed to change his lifestyle and became a veterinarian.

He has completely turned his life around and trying to stay away from the dark side. He's doing good for himself but isn't trying to have a relationship due to his hex.

While all of this is going on we also have the triads relationship with each other.

And the relationship between the sisters are amazing and so worth it!

It was every night, so frequently that Harper was half-convinced she was having a secret affair—or had a membership to a pleasure club. According to the succubus, that’s how soaked in pheromones she’d become. Or to quote the sex demon verbatim, “You’re extra horny lately, Rose.”

When they connect it’s a good time and they don’t see each other again until she has to do community service at Damien's animal shelter.

He's the grump to her sunshine. He's constantly grumpy while she's always sunshine and trying to be the best.

Rose followed his gaze to Damian, and shrugged. “He may have the personality of a soggy potato, but he’s honestly not bad once you get to know him. He grows on you. Like super fungus.”

I loved the push and pull between the characters and they way that Damien knew he was getting in too deep but kept going and the fact that Rose was trying not to fall but she ended up falling anyways.

“Didn’t I mention that I’m on a hiatus from doing things I should do?” Rose asked, her voice breathless and sexy as hell. “Right now, I’m focusing on things I want to do . . . and right now, Damian Adams, I want to do you.”

I also really enjoyed the slow burn between the characters, while they were getting to know each other. The character development was the best. I love when characters are developed and you get to see them grow and be the better versions of themselves.

Olive studied them both a few seconds longer before nodding for them both to follow. “Stay back, stay quiet, and for the love of Goddess, don’t interfere. Gran isn’t the only one with the ability to give cross-continental ass-blasts.”

I absolutely love this book, not gonna like Not The Witch You Wed was my favorite so far but this was a great second addition. I really enjoyed reading this book.

This was another great one for me by Ms. Asher. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Olivia and Bax have been building since the first book in this series and I can't wait to see what Ms. Asher does with this story.

This is the 2nd book in the Supernatural Singles series by April Asher. I haven’t read the 1st book, Not the Witch You Wed, but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. There is a lot of mention of the main characters from the 1st one so I’ll definitely be checking out that one soon.
It’s absolutely insane how spicy this read was and, more importantly, it was female-focused spice. There was also a lot of romance, action, and fantasy involved in the story as well. This is a perfect blend for romcom and fantasy readers. There’s also a little dictionary in the back for readers newer to the genre.
The plot is centered around witch Rose and half-demon Damian who become engaged in a friends with benefits arrangement. Now reading that you may think to expect that spice but I’m telling you it surpasses your expectations. It’s really enjoyable to see their relationship form and meet their friends and family along the way. I also loved reading about the animals they worked with and their storylines were so cute. This is a very character heavy book and they was such a likable ensemble that it was such a joy reading their stories. There was also a lot of comedy, hence the romcom genre, and there were many moments I audibly laughed. I NEED to read a book about Olive finding love now.
Some of the supernatural dialogue was cringey at first but it didn’t take long to get used to. The characters’ lovability made up for any qualms I had. The ending was also a little rushed but I feel like that’s a typical complaint for any romance book.
I definitely recommend this one, especially for romcom lovers looking to read something slightly different within the genre. There’s also representation with the leading lady, Rose, who is plus-sized and tall, which is definitely nice to see in romance.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for sending me an arc in exchange for a review.

This was SO much fun, almost non-stop action and hilarity despite the paranormal romance vibes it most strongly gave off. I loved the cast of characters and was actually surprised that it wasn't just a wee bit hotter (read: sexier) based on the language and tone (but maybe that was just me). I could have binged this book in one day but legit couldn't keep my eyes open EVEN for this, so it ended up taking two but still, add this to your list of bingeable in a day books.

I've just started reading paranormal romances and this was a bit lighter in a lot of ways than others I've read before so that was nice because since I'm new to the sub-genre it can feel overwhelming to have a lot of spells, rules etc to remember. That said, there wasn't QUITE enough background for me (maybe that's what I missed in the series starter) and sometimes the main character was doing a spell what seemed like out of nowhere which would always be a bit of a surprise - but it wasn't anything so distracting that I was caught up on it during reading - it's moreso upon reflection that I realize and think about this.

I loved the characters, they had good depth for this type of read, yet it was also fantastical enough and fun to read so it was a really great combination of all of the elements the author clearly wanted to include. Well done.

I read this immediately after reading "Not the Witch You Wed," which significantly improved the storyline. This is a fantastic enemies-to-lovers romance with the perfect amount of angst and soul-searching.

Rose grew up expected to be perfect. Witch and to become the next leader of the supernatural council. When her older sister suddenly shows magical powers, Rose must step aside and relinquish everything she had spent her life training for. While she's trying to figure out her place, she has a one-night stand with a demon that obviously doesn't turn out to be the last time they see each other.

In an attempt to find herself, Rose gets caught committing a crime and is subjected to community service at, you guessed it, that super hot demon's clinic. Damien wants nothing to do with Rose and doesn't expect her to last the day, let alone her entire community service time.

The banter between the two is witty, and I just loved them together. Any good enemies-to-lovers romance needs to have solid fire between the couple. this nails that! If you read "Not the Witch You Wed" and like the world, don't sleep on this one! I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
