Absolutely loved Rose and Damian's book. It's such a fantastic grumpy/sunshine story, and Damian is an animal lover, so that's already a huge win for me.

A selfish ex that hexed the MMC, a strained sibling story, and FMC struggling to find her place, it's all so great on top of the romance story. And it's all quite spicy. I love this series, and I love seeing more of Olive in this book too so we get a little preview of the FMC of the next book.

Thank you NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the advance readers copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was a wonderful story! I loved Rose's feistiness and Damian (as a whole). The banter and enemies-to-lovers was *chef's kiss*.

Always love April’s stories! I can’t wait to continue reading in this world! The light fantasy element with the romance is so good! Truly enjoyed it!

Okay I’m somewhere between four and five stars on this one, maybe 4.5? Rounding up? I’ve been in a weird headspace/book slump that’s not this book’s fault at all, so even though I started this book almost a month ago, I realistically read most of this over the course of 3-4 days (and I went days in between not reading/reading random stuff).

All that aside, I was pleasantly surprised by this one in that I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about Rose based on her appearances in Not the Witch You Wed, and I tend to be wary of other books in interconnected series when I get attached to the first characters I’ve read about. I think April Asher did a great job fleshing out Rose’s character so much more and showing that there’s more to her personality than you’d assume from the first book. I really liked that this one was about Rose trying to find herself and what she wanted to do with her life because that’s so relatable! Same, Rose, same. And getting to see Rose try out so many things that didn’t work out but then stumble upon the things she loved and was good at was so heartwarming. I love a good finding-yourself story (and it makes me feel better that I haven’t found that myself yet and that’s okay! I need the reminders from time to time).

The setting of this one, besides the familiar elements of Potion’s Up and Supernatural NYC, was also a lot of fun. I love that so much of this book took place around the animal sanctuary (and Damian the vet taking care of the sick and injured animals 🥺 I love him). Rose being so good with the animals (and Damian finding that extra attractive) was the cutest. The way Jasper calmed down around her 🥹 and Bella letting Rose pet her and get her to drink water! Bella and the puppies were one of my favorite things about the whole book. The puppy rescue scene is up there in my favorite moments/chapters! Introducing bounty hunting through Damian’s past and Rose’s present/future also made for some excitement and action throughout.

The fairy-tale like elements were there, too, with Damian being under a curse (hex) placed on him by an ex (I do kind of wish we got to see a little more of the context/past for that or a little more explanation, but given how the first book went in terms of flashbacks, this kind of matches that style, so it’s alright), and a big source of the conflict/plot was trying to figure out exactly how that curse would be broken. I had some guesses about it but didn’t quite hit the nail on the head because I was wondering if it’d be similar to Not the Witch You Wed (but then was like it shouldn’t be… right? Because then it’d be kind of a repeat), so I’m glad it still surprised me a bit. Like the pieces were there, so I’m sure some people would’ve put it together, but I didn’t see it until the reveal, which was fun. Kept me on my toes in that regard.

I love April Asher’s humor and banter, and the terms of endearment Rose and Damian have for each other are adorable. They have immediate chemistry but also butt heads because they’re both stubborn, and it makes for some good sexual tension buildup and good amounts of steam when it boils over. Miguel and Terrance were endearing side characters introduced in this one, and I even found myself warming up to Julius’s character (I was worried he’d be a bad guy but it turns out people do change, including him, and it was sweet that he was there for his little brother after their messy past). The setup for Olive’s book in book three is pretty clearly interwoven with the story, and there’s a definite possibility for a fourth book about Harper if April Asher does go that way (based on the character art and the first book, I’d guess Harper and Adrian, but her banter with Gage in this book is fun).

I’m excited to dive into my ARC of Not Your Crush’s Cauldron (book three) to see how things go down between Olive and Bax! There have been lots of crumbs about both of them having interesting pasts, and my curiosity has been piqued since the first book but even more so after this one…

Thank you so much to St. Martin’s Griffin/Netgalley for the ARC!

This one was super sweet. I loved the enemies to love aspect, as well as the sunshine/grump trope! There really isn't anything better than an animal loving grump! It was so cute, with the right amount of spice. Would definitely recommend!

This is the book 2 in the series so I'll be grabbing book 1 and I'm already looking forward to book 3. I adored April's writing style and her character development. it's such a fun and fast read. I highly recommend it.

This was an easy, fun read with enough spice and laughs to keep you coming back for more. I loved the characters and hope there will be more books from this author exploring some of the side characters stories a little more!

Enjoyed Not Your Ex’s Hexes so much that I picked up the first book in the series on my own and blew through it as well! I’m a bit of a sucker for fantasy romance, and these novels have an element of fun to them that I really appreciate. The chemistry between the characters was palpable-loved the tension!

I was so excited for this book to come out after having read the first book. And this did not disappoint. I highly recommend reading this series it's got all the great witchy vibes and lots of magic!

3.75 stars!

I really liked the banter between the two main characters and I really liked their relationship. I think my biggest unenjoyment came with the supernatural aspects and I think that this series has a lot of promise for a fun little spooky time read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I love this series. I just love these sisters also. I love the closeness of the family and friendships. Rose was a fun awesome character. Damian was a hot demon. I am a fan of enemies to lovers. Their banter is so fun. The tension is great and the spice is perfect. The story was so good. I cannot wait to read the next in this series. If you lov witchy romances I highly recommend this one. Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin's Press for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a fun read! I loved the banter and the tension in this book. It was a great sequel to the Not the Witch You Wed. I loved being back in this world and learning more about the family. I really loved this.

I really liked the idea of this more than the execution. It’s a cute rom com, but I ended up DNFing because the author kept adding cute little witchy touches to the world, but there wasn’t any magic.

It was cute. Sometimes though the banter takes away from the story and it felt like a lot of the magic wasn't that well explained.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I understand this this is part of a series, and that I have not read book 1., I am thinking that I should. This book had some great interactions between the sisters and the other characters. I enjoyed the dynamics and the banter between the sisters and the other characters. I really enjoyed this book and before I read the next one I am going to go back and read the first one of the series.

When witch Rose is sentenced to community service at an animal sanctuary, she never expects the vet would be the same half-demon she’s had a one night stand with. Forced together, Damian and Rose can’t ignore their attraction. The problem, Damian’s ex hexed him - if he falls in love, he loses his heart and his humanity.

Obviously this is a romance with witches and demons, so it is a little unbelievable, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Thank you so much to SMP Romance and Netgalley for providing an advanced copy of this! All thoughts and opinions are still my own.

After reading and enjoying book 1, I knew I wanted to try continuing on with this series. I love the concept of powerful triplet witches in a contemporary/paranormal world. However, this series, while fun in concept, doesn't seem to deliver the way that I want.

Our heroine in this book has spent her life preparing to take over as the matriarch of the witches. However, when her older sister finally comes into her power, our heroine finally gets to decide her own future. Unfortunately she has no idea what she wants that future to look like.

In her attempt to figure it out, she finds herself doing community service with her grumpy, half demon, one night stand. What she doesn't know, is that the hero is cursed to lose his soul if he ever falls in love.

I loved the concept of this romance. The layer of forbiddance created so much tension to their budding romance. I also love a tortured hero with a secret soft center - which Damian definitely fit!

But I just felt like this book never quite landed the delivery. There were plenty of good moments, but nothing that ever left me breathless or desperate for more.

The characters, while fine, weren't overly complex or deeply developed. Instead it feels like everyone fits a role and purpose. The sisters, in particular, almost feel like caricatures of their given roles.

I think this book, and series as a whole, is fun and lighthearted. But not something that will stand out in my mind. Because of that, I don't think it's a series I'll be continuing with either.

If you're in the market though for more lighthearted contemporary, witchy stories this is still one worth checking out. Despite my lackluster feelings on it, I don't think there is anything outright wrong with this book. I was just left wanting more from it.

Book #2 in the Supernatural Singles, witches, demons, shifters and magic. Can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the series. Rose Maxwell, the former Prima Apparent is looking to find her new path in life after giving up her position. When she has a one night stand with Damian Adams, a grumpy half demon veterinarian, neither party thinks that they’ll cross paths again. The relationship between Rose and Damian is a complex one. The banter and flirting between Rose and Damian had me smiling the whole time. I liked the theme of finding your place and being a hot lost mess, and having a group of friends who would never give up on you.

I’ve tried to read this book 2 different times and am just completely uninterested. I wanted to like this one so badly because I love witchy romances, but I’m DNFing. Thanks anyway for the ARC — hoping others love this one more.

These are just a breath a fresh air. There is something so fun about this world April has created and these are good humored without feeling campy. I like campy, but sometimes it's not the mood you are looking for and this hits the right tone.

This novel follows one of the other characters from "Not the Witch You Wed", Rose, and while I don't think you would have to read book 1, I recommend you do. It really sets up this world, the political climate, and what makes Rose really start her search for herself and to kind of carve her own path in life.

This is one for fans of the grumpy/sunshine trope, family drama, and humor. Asher is a total delight!
