When I say I squealed with delight while reading this what I really mean is I almost broke a window with my screeching. IT IS SO CUTE!! Imagine if Kawaii doodles and Squishmallows had a baby and you could draw them. This is it!! There are noodles, cactus, a tiny forest - all the things. And they are so fricking adorable!!! I love how the instructions are very visual and use red lines to show what you add on each step. This will be a great gift for my 8 year old who loves to draw and always wants to make cute comics with everyday items.

101 Super Cute Things to Draw is an adorable how to book, teaching kids and adults how to draw adorable tiny doodles of everyday items as well as plants and animals. My students and I highly enjoyed flipping through the pages and drawing our favorites. The instructions are written clearly and the diagrams are easy to follow. My students and I will continue to use this book for art instruction and use the tutorials to illustrate a picture book that they have written by the end of term!

This was such a treat! I adore this book. I've actually attempted a couple of drawings after reading it. It's simple to understand, straight to the point, and most importantly, the art is so cute.

As the title says, cute little drawings and simple to do. Great book to pick up and flick through.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

How utterly adorable these doodles are! Now, I will admit, I wouldn’t usually have picked up a hobby or craft book to read but this was just too cute to resist and it was worth starting it immediately.

I really appreciated the beginning explanations on color theory, textures and the different mediums. It’s been a while since I’ve opened up my sketch book and the reminders were incredibly helpful in getting me back in touch with my doodle side. Also, the section on the different little faces was so welcome. I usually have such a hard time with the eyes and mine always all end up looking the same so it was nice to have a quick reference to go back to check when I wanted something different.

As for the drawings themselves, they just kept getting cuter the further along you got and every section is fantastic. My favorite would have to be the Fantasy Creatures section. The alien, yeti and jackalope are by far my most favorite, so adorable and the little details on them are perfect.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for my copy of the book!

101 SUPER CUTE THINGS TO DRAW
by Lauren Bergstrom

Here are 101 super cute things to draw. The artist puts a face on each thing she draws, I'll put a happier face on the things that I draw. She shows you step-by-step how to create each drawing. The sky is the limit, you can take her coaching and expound upon it 100 percent and create your own cute things.

Highly recommend it to artists of all ages or someone who'd like to learn to draw.

My 8-year-old daughter loves drawing. She was happy to see this book shows you all the steps to create such cute art!! She would get frustrated that some books would only show a few steps. Thank you!!

This was just way too cute. Lauren wasn't lying about it.. lol.

There are so many exercises and practices etc... but when I did attempt it, it didn't come out the same.

I know I know there's that put in the 10,000 hours and you will become an expert bla bla bla... but honestly, I feel you need to have some artistic flair and not just be a photocopy machine.

I will keep trying... and it is way too cute ranging from drawing kids to animals and turning them into these button-eyed characters.. ahhhhh cutation overload!

We love to draw in our house and found this book to be a great addition to our collection of art books.

The designs are easy to recreate with step by step, clear illustrations.

The ease and fun designs meant my 8 year old and 6 year old were keen to try and couldn't stop at just one picture.

There are lots of cute pictures and they reminded my children of their favourite game Toca Boca.

Highly recommend

I loved this drawing book. I enjoyed that this book didn't just focus on one type of drawing, there are examples for things such as everyday objects, food, and animals. As a mom of 2 littles having a variety of examples is beyond helpful, so everyone is happy. Along with steps on how to draw I loved the pages that showed examples of using color, texture and a few tips. I found this to be a truly helpful book, from simple drawings to explaining about tools and materials one can use.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of 101 Super Cute Things to Draw.

This was cute and rather generic which was fun. All those sort of doodles you want to make but aren't quite sure how to do and can't get quite right. Not as cute as some others I have seen in the past but will be liked by anyone who likes to draw cute things.

Such a fun book. I'm such a bad drawer so this guide really helps me. Instructions were easy to follow with step by steps included!

Lauren has created a very kawaii (cute) how-to book on creating little creatures. The small drawings range from objects, food, mythical beings, plants, and animals. It divided each drawing up into 6 simple steps that even a beginner can follow. There are really simple designs such as the bear and snail to more complex designs like the mythical. creatures and some of the food.

It really works! I was extremely skeptical of if this drawing book of adorableness was actually going to help me improve my doodling skills and it DID! The pictures are clear and the instructions are easy to follow. I loved the verity of creatures to choose from to draw. I will be honest the first thing I drew was the lion because I am a leo. Then I moved on to the jellyfish, sheep and dragon. I definitely have a few friends that would love this as gift! I like to listen to audiobooks and I was doodling these cuties with ease while listening. If you want to have a fun stress-free how-to book, this is for you.

This is a really great book for learning how to draw objects. It lives up to the name because almost every item is kawaii in some way.

The book starts out with some basics to explain how to choose things like outline colours and materials, and then it gets right into some very easy to follow instructions for how to draw everything from a camera to a guinea pig. What I found helpful is that the drawings get progressively more difficult as you move through the book. Nothing overwhelmingly challenging, but some require a bit more detail or different shapes than standard ones as you get rolling.

The mushrooms, cacti and succulents were probably my faves. They were super cute and really fun to dress up in different colours.

I also think that you could use this book to draw not only on paper but with a digital pen and drawing pad. In fact, it would probably be a really great way to get used to working digitally for anyone who is trying art on the computer or tablet for the first time.

While I am sure that this book is geared at all ages, I'd hazard that kids will get more value out of it than adults. Unless, of course, you like kawaii things as much as I do.

As the title of this book implies, it is indeed filled with the absolute cutest things to draw. The step-by-step directions were super easy to follow and I appreciated that all the newest steps were always shown in a different colour so no one got lost. I sampled with book along with my 9 year old and we both found it fun and enjoyable. It was just was easy for her to follow and it was for me, The range of animals, plants, foods and things all drawn in the Kawaii style is sure to have something for everyone. What I really appreciated was the instructions at the front that gave tips and tricks when it comes to finalizing your drawing, through the use of colour, texture, shading and patterns. I have read many books similar to this one and none of them have gone into as much detail about those topics and that is what can really set your drawings apart. Overall a very cute book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster for this digital ARC.

I really enjoyed looking through this book. There are some basic drawing tips and advice at the beginning. This included a basic overview of a color wheel and different types of colors (primary, secondary, etc.), which I thought was a really cool addition.

The pictures were, of course, very cute and almost all of them had fun faces, whether they were an animal like a koala or an inanimate object like a milk carton. The pictures all had six steps for drawing them and the steps were very easy to follow. I think young children could follow these steps pretty easily.

Overall, this was a great how-to-draw book that would be a great gift for kids and people who love cute things.
