Tons of interesting information on starting plant based living. This isn’t a diet it is a whole change. There is a lot information on vitamins in the beginning too.

This book was challenging for me to get through simply because it was wordy and repetitive. It was very vegan-forward when I was anticipating some helpful and innovative ways to achieve protein via a plant-based diet - not necessarily a vegan diet. I may be the outlier on this. It did have some helpful tidbits but I wouldn't say this book was all that special.

This book had a lot of information on plant-based eating. It also gave a good description of the differences in plant-based, vegan, etc. However, the book was very wordy and repetitive. It gave a lot of time to veganism when the title indicated it was for plant-based eaters.

This covers the basis for plant-based, vegan, and vegetarian diets and lifestyles. It is impossible to miss the differences between these three because there is quite a lot of repetition in this book. This could have been a lot more compact book, which would have made it an easier read. It is however a good read for people curious about what this is all about, what to do, how to get protein, what else to eat, and then you might figure out what is suitable for you.

This book is well intentioned and tries to cajole the average reader to consider eating a plant-based diet, Most of the information in this book would be already known to existing vegans and specifically plant-based athletes, but definitely would be a reference material for them as well. The book could use some editing and grammatical corrections here and there.

This was pretty much what I expected.

The bit at the beginning about diet types was a bit long since if someone is picking up this book they probably have an alternative diet.

I received an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I am vegan and I am training for a marathon, so I thought this book may have great insight on nutrition. This book is extremely persuasive to go to an all plant diet and references many different athletes and situations as to why plants were better than meat. Some of these situations were out of date and inaccurate.

For example, Cam Newton is referenced as the Patriots star quarterback. Which he has not played for them in 2 years and a better vegan star athlete example for the Patriots would have been Tom Brady. I know this is a small detail, but this is knowledge I possess, so it made me question the accuracy of the rest of the book.

Overall I think the book details a decent foundation of nutrition and plant based diet. I don’t think it will help athletes specifically I feel as though it just references athletes who have already made the change.

This guide should not be used as a standalone reference and should be used in conjunction with other reference materials, especially when making such drastic changes to the diet.

I feel like this book has a good premise but would benefit from some editing, restructuring, and further research on examples used.
