What an amazing read once again from Jeneva Rose!!! I was hooked and engaged right from the beginning with the stellar writing and pacing. This is so atmospheric and creepy with twists and turns at every corner. I feared for the stability of the pages of the book as they were just dripping with tension and suspense at every moment.

I was at all times either enthralled by the relationship building, terrified of the unknown, or curious about the development of the cast of characters laid out before me. But above all, I was always itching to turn the next page and keep going.

Five stars once again for a writer who seems to be on a rocket trajectory that not even gravity can pull back down.

I have never read a Jeneva Rose book before I do follow her on TikTok, so this is my first time reading her, and this is great. This was an entertaining read; it was thrilling. I found myself feeling legitimately creeped out.
If you like small-town mystery thrillers that are fast pace with family secrets and unreliable narrators, this is the book for you.

I read the entire thing in a day. It was super fast paced and gave me an icky feeling the whole time- like any great book like this would. I figured out a portion of the ending pretty early but thought the reasoning would be differentโ€ฆ. There were a lot of clues. But it was pretty fun

I always have problems picking out a good mystery. This was exactly what I was looking for. Iโ€™m usually able to guess the killer, but I wasnโ€™t able to until the last 20 pages.

This book turned out to be incredibly predictable and the characters were very dull and drab. I just could not find myself invested in the story at any point.

I wanted to enjoy this as the premise sounded wonderful, but ultimately I found the relationship and the characters to be both dull and dry,. The mystery and thriller element also was super campy, and while I enjoy a bit of camp, everything to me was expected. Even the "twists".

Unfortunately, this book did not work for me. The characters felt extremely surface level and their interactions choppy. I wanted to love this one but I was not getting the atmospheric vibes I've heard from others and it did not feel like a thriller for the first 60% of the book. Both characters were unlikable. The ending "twist" was definitely interesting but it felt rushed. I feel like having the female POV ruined the mystery and discovery of the twist. This just wasn't enjoyable for me.

Ooh, I did NOT see this ending coming! I really love books with unreliable narrators, and this fit right into that category. But who was the unreliable one? Can you trust ANYONE in this book??? I couldn't put this one down, nor can I really think of any recent books to compare it to. I can, however, recommend it and say that you're going to thoroughly enjoy reading this!

A superb fast paced thriller. I absolutely loved the story and couldnโ€™t stop reading it. Itโ€™s perfect for all readers, especially thriller lovers.

Grace needs a change of scenery from her hectic New York life. She selects a remote Wyoming Airbnb that seems picture perfect, well maybe except no cell service and no WIFI. Along with this great location comes the attractive ranch owner Calvin who becomes obsessed with Grace. Grace on the other hand feels things are not quite what they seem, but she second guesses herself and ignores the warning signs.
Oh, my goodness, this story has so many twists and turns. Call in to work sick now because you will want to stay up until you get this one finished. I will be recommending this one to everyone that loves a good thriller that keeps you guessing until the end.
This is the first novel I have read by Jeneva Rose, but it will not be the last. Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Nopeeeee, totally not for me. I just found this book SO over the top cringey. Too many eye rolling moments, moments where I was like people just don't act like this. I could have scratched my eyes out at the amount of times the MC's eyes were described as 'blue, blue'. BUT I'm obviously in the minority here with my thoughts and this could definitely work well for those who like romance and spice in their thrillers, I'm just more of a darker reader and this felt way too pop'corny' for me.

I have always been afraid to book an Airbnb. Now I donโ€™t think I ever will! My heart was pounding on page 3 of this book! I couldnโ€™t stop reading to find out what all the big secrets were and why so many people had died in such a short amount of time. This book is perfect for fans of โ€œheโ€™s a 10 butโ€ฆโ€ stories. I would call this one โ€œheโ€™s a 10 butโ€ฆhis last girlfriend died in a mysterious car crashโ€

This was a surprise hit for me. Through the whole thing I often found myself thinking "no, theres no way anyone would do this" but at the same time, I could not put this book down! I kept switching what I thought from "I think Calvin is weird and guilty of something" to "maybe he has duel personality" to "something is def wrong with her"... it was then I realized this book is really good and REALLY entertaining because I could NOT figure what was going on! Such a fun read!

HOOOOLY MOOOOLY. My jaw is off the floor. What. A. Wild. Ride. I need to go stare at the wall in the dark for a few minutes....

Okay, I'm back! I have heard so many wonderful things about this author, but this was my first time reading a book from her. It certainly won't be my last! This was a crazy story. Nothing feels right, but you just can't put a finger in WHAT doesn't feel right. The main character, Grace, has the same feeling, but many times she ignores it or second guesses herself. So many time I wanted to scream, "Get out there lady!" at her. I mean no cell service and no wifi? I'd be out of there in 5 minutes ๐Ÿ˜† The whole book has this creepy, unknown feeling just looming over you at all times. I'll be honest, the first 25% I felt was a bit slow - but BOY OH BOY did it pick up after that.

"We all have scars and each one has a story. I wondered what story his would tell."

This story is told from dual POVs which is my favorite! First we have Grace (Airbnb guest) and then we have Calvin (Airbnb host), and I definitely enjoyed each one and getting a glimpse into their minds a bit more. This book has several recurring characters, and you never know who's telling the truth or who you can trust. I read this book I'm ONE day because I couldn't put it down! The ending?! ๐Ÿ‘€

Read if you enjoy:
โ€ข locked room vibes
โ€ข creepy small town
โ€ข family secrets
โ€ข twistssss

OMG! I adore Jeneva Rose! She knows how to hook up her readers with her tricky, heart throbbing, unputdownable stories and knows how to increase the pressure, keeping you on your toes, sucker punching you with her crazy twists!

I had so much fun and when I reach the ending, I villanelle laughed for nearly a hour. It was freaking smart!

Even though there are too many things happening in this book including haunted house theme, massacre of animals, attacks of wild animals, creepy townies, secrets of dysfunctional family, crazy ex one night stands, you just learn to handle them by wearing your big girl pants! You donโ€™t have a moment to breath out, because tension keeps escalating! Each of the characters is more creepier than the other. They seem like suspects. None of them is trustworthy. You keep guessing which one is telling a little more truth.

And letโ€™s talk about two narrators: Grace Evans takes a break from her busy life in NY where she works in finance. She throws a dart to the map to decide her next trip and finds herself rent an Airbnb on a ranch in the middle of Wyoming: a cracking house carrying its own darkness, embellished with taxidermies, surrounded by wild animals which are ready to massacre the poor chickens. Grace shouldnโ€™t have gone there! She should have run after spending a day but thereโ€™s a catch. The broken hearted, hot as hell home owner Calvin Wells ( second narrator)who likes to get his hands dirty, walking around shirtless, showing his six packs, is absolutely hard to resist. Poor boy starts acting like love sick boy next door as soon as he meets with Grace.

They get connected as soon as they spend some quality time together. But townies are not welcoming Grace with open arms. Calvinโ€™s close friend Charlotte who wants to be more than a friend counting the days for Graceโ€™s return, acting like jealous sulking bitch. Bee lady Betty is like a mother to Calvin wants to protect him getting hurt, giving her piece of mind to Grace and Calvinโ€™s shady brother car mechanic Joe shamelessly flirting with her. Letโ€™s not forget about old drunk man who insists heโ€™s another Airbnb guest stalking each move of Grace behind the window.

Grace wants to enjoy her limited time and return back but there are so many things make her alert instead of townies including absence of Wi-fi, a missing woman who also booked a room at Calvinโ€™s place and lately her car stops working. As her last day approaches Calvin acts more dramatic as if he wonโ€™t let her go. Can she trust that broken man? Is he truly honest with her?

Iโ€™m stopping here. Just expect the unexpected! Enjoy your time with those two unreliable narrators, creepy townies, haunted house!
Even though some of the explanations were a little far fetched, I enjoyed my reading time a lot and giving my 5 starts and more villanelle laughs!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.

Grace decides to take a break from her work in New York and takes a vacation to Wyoming. The ranch she selects to visit is very remote, but she likes that. Even more, she is attracted to the ranch owner, Calvin. Calvin quickly becomes obsessed with Grace and she soon begins to worry when a sheriff shows up and asks about a missing girl named Briana that was to supposed to have stayed at the ranch before Grace. Calvin claims he doesn't know who she is, but does he?

Oh boy, this was quite a wild ride and I was here for every bit of it! From the very beginning, I knew I was going to like this story. It was creepy and I just knew something was not quite right. The ending blew me away and I can gladly say this may be my favorite book by Jeneva Rose yet. I really can't wait to see what she comes up with next. All the stars for YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE COME HERE! If you don't have this already on your TBR, add it now and enjoy!

I was so excited to get this book that i started it immediately!

I love this author and i have really enjoyed her other books so i was excited to see what else she came up with. I loved the plot and the idea but the execution wasnโ€™t my fav. Majority of it seemed like a romance. There was a hint of what was supposed to be suspense but it fell flat to me. The last 80 ish pages ramped up a gear and took a direction i wasnโ€™t expecting so that was fun.

But ultimately this fell flat for me. I will definitely read more from this author because Iโ€™ve loved her other books. But i wanted more thrill.

This book is gripping from start to finish. The writing style is so so good it kept me hooked even though nothing major happens untill 80% in. And that is quite impressive. This is definitely a slow burn, nicely built up the characters but also a very quick read. And then BAM, everything happens at once. I especially loved the last 20% of this book and did not at all see it coming. I would have preferred if the tension was a bit more spread out throughout the book, but still thoroughly enjoyed it.
