This was a wonderful read. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. Beatrice was a beautifully written and relatable character. The coming of age storyline flows effortlessly. I am looking forward to more from this author.

I was really enjoying this story about the coming of age of a young girl whose mother had been struggling with her decisions all her life. Very nicely written.

Not at all what I was expecting from the blurb and cover, but a very good read. To be honest, I was expecting an adult horse-girl book here. Not at all what you get - horses feature very little, so that was a tad disappointing. Luckily the book is great so the disappointment didn't last long!

This was a nice story. It was quite a sad story that included loss. It was well written, and I loved that it involved horses. I rated this book 3.5 stars rounded up. It was an enjoyable story that I finished in one morning. I loved how bea was able to connect with animals. The characters were nice and realistic. There were lots of emotions in this book that the author got across quite well it made me feel for bea. I connected mostly with the story, but the pace was a little slower than I would have liked.

Many thanks to the author and publishers for creating a nice story that includes horses.

Lyrically written an author who drew me in with her beautiful words.A quiet story seen through the eyes of Beatrice we follow her as a young girl her family their lives in the first half. The second part kept me involved turning the pages.I will be recommending the novel and the author. #netgalley #atmosphere-press

4.5
I truly, truly loved the first half of this novel about a young girl's childhood. I loved the writing, the setting..oh so luscious. Personal preference that I wanted her to stay young! And not to follow her as an adult. But very, very good.

This is one of those books, where I read it waiting for something BIG to happen, and it didn't.
It was Beatrice and her family as she grew up.
The small dramas , the bigger ones.
family life.
Whilst I waited, I realised I'd flown through half the book, and then flew through the other half.
The writing just flowed.
There were real moments of emotion, beautifully done.
It's one of those books I'll never be able to describe to people.
I'll stick with "you MUST read it".
