This story about Christine and the Collin is your perfect travel read this December. This book is not your round the mill romantic book but I promise it will melt your heart and make you remember the first time you really loved or felt loved by someone. Its an INSTA LOVE, MEET CUTE but with a twist which really kept me hooked.

Our protagonist, Christine suffers from a chronic illness, has dated one too many toxic guys and has a really hard time living life in general. But then she doesn't just find a guy worth dating BUT A SOULMATE,

I too suffer from quite a few illnesses and its an everyday struggle to do the quotidian tasks let alone DATE SOMEONE, hence I could relate to this story and all the predicaments that Christine goes through in her life everyday.

There were some things that annoyed me in this book:
Christine's best friend was absolutely pokey and got on my nerves all through this book
Paris being a city of love, I get it but too much of anything is bad hence this Paris being too lovey where everyone has a grand love story was downright SACCHARINE TO READ.

Nonetheless, this book is readable and tolerable than most romance books as I am always put off by them.

An insta-love rom com that becomes a lot more intriguing due to the uniqueness of the characters! Our heroine of the story has multiple autoimmune conditions which to many people is a no big deal thing and even a bit of a drag, but to those of us who suffer from multiple autoimmune conditions it is a big deal. The description of the fatigue, aches, pains and more are so very real for us that it was actually kind of fun to see someone like me get to be the girl who gets the romance rather than the girl who is afraid to eat outside the house or go more than a few minutes from home out of fear of what could happen. The insta-love theme isn't my usual cup of tea and the romance part was sweet, if not a bit boring, but for me the weight of the story came from seeing someone like me get to live out the fantasy. This was my first book by this author and it is clear that she understands the autoimmune life so I will definitely be looking forward to more books from her!

This is such an interesting story because it's a instant attraction/love trope for both of the main characters that spans out over a 7 days trip in the heart of Paris, France. The length in the trip and great detail added still lets the insta love feel be there, but gives it substance rather than just an infatuation feel.

I love dual POV books and was so glad this one had it. Both of our main characters needed to let us inside of their heads and I think that really benefited this book. The descriptions are thorough and gives the reader a real feel of Paris.

Christine was such an interesting character to read about. She is a lot of walls, fears, regrets and wishes for the future. It was fun to see one of her dreams come true throughout this book in getting herself to Paris. Add that with an intriguing MCC, mistaken identities, meddling old ladies and you've got quite the tale to tell!

I thought it was endearing to have the storyline that it did because it showed the hero of the story to be nothing short of amazing. It was intriguing to find a character arc for him later on in the book too. Just when you thought you had him all figured out, he ends up surprising you even more.

I enjoyed all of the movie suggestions and references. If you're a lover of the arts-in any medium that right there should be a bonus to reading this book!

I applaud the author for her representation of autoimmune diseases and major health challenges. She does a great job letting the reader in on those complications and what those situations can entail.

I was drawn to this book by the title and who doesn't want to read about Paris. This was a cute rom com filled with twists and laughter. I loved the main characters and the writing flowed well.

This book was excellent—a cute, feel-good romance with soulmates and instant connection. The characters were lovable and I want a man like Collin in real life, please :) I highly recommend it if you love cutesy romances.

I was not prepared to love this book as much as I did!
I don't take a risk on new authors or authors I haven't read a book of before but I'm so glad I read this. This was such a cute book the plot twist had me wide-eyed and gasping!
I absolutely loved the chemistry colin (a cute British guy) and Christine shared and how he didn't judge her or demean her for her disabilities.
definitely a fun read.

This is a really sweet and lovely read. When Christine and Colin meet at the airport before their flight to Paris, it’s practically love at first sight. However Colin is keeping a secret.

I really enjoyed these two characters and their blossoming romance. My only downfall is that I wish there had been some more detail on who they were as individuals as well as who they are together. But this was a truly romantic read.

They got together way too fast, it is cheesy and very unrealistic even for a romance novel. It has plot holes. It wasn’t interesting and i wish I could like it more.

Can you fall in love in a matter of hours? Christine is on her way to Paris when she meets Colin in the airport. He swoops in and helps her out in a time of need. Sparks fly as words are exchanged during some banter and the two separate. The next thing Christine knows, she is sitting next to Colin on the plane and the crew is taking bets on whether or not they work out their issues. By the time they reach Paris, they are smitten. The two spend their trip together seeing the sites and falling in love. But there is a twist to their story and Christine didn't see it coming...

This story really opens your eyes to what a person in Christine's shoes deals with on a daily basis. Christine has autoimmune disorders and calls herself a medical mystery. Just getting to and on the plane was a journey for her. I think we need more books with characters who open our eyes to what real people deal with every day.

I love sappy love stories. While I do not believe in insta love and this was just not realistic to me in terms of how these two just connected and fell so fast, it was a love story that I loved all the way through. Colin was enamored with her not despite her health issues but because of her strength. He saw the person she was inside and out. Everyone they met could see how perfect they were together. You couldn't fake those feelings.

I'm not sure how I feel about Lola. I get that she wanted to take care of her friend, but the whole ordeal was sketchy. Christine forgave her a little too fast for me. She made Colin work for it more. I guess you just chock it up to pregnancy hormones!

This is a book worth checking out if you love to read a love story that you can get swept away in!

This sounds like a typical romance but there is so much more to the book, especially when we find out more about Colin and why he is in Paris. Super cute, super clean (nothing further than kissing) and guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face at the end. Did I mention this was an instalove situation? Not my favourite trope but the author wrote it well and I couldn't help rooting for our couple!

Okay…honest review ahead. Nothing against the author, especially since they noted that there was some truth to the story, but I think this book just isn’t my cup of tea, and the sickeningly sweet & understanding MCs and unrealistic plot were the main reason why.
A big reason we love books is to be able to get away to a fantasy land, to take us to the land of possibilities and what ifs. But for me, this book took it too far.

I enjoyed the beginning of this book - the banter was cute and made me laugh. However, once they got together (less than 15% into the book) it was just too good to be true. It felt so unrealistic and honestly after so many cheesy lines, I was just like…gag me with a spoon 🙄 And seriously, every time one of them was insecure, the other immediately knew exactly what to say and do after knowing each other for a day?

There’s just no freaking way he knew where she was at the end. First of all, she could’ve been at a theatre near the museum instead of the hotel and also why did he just know there were showings at various times throughout the day.

Really felt like the book dragged on when they were together. Like they kept repeating the same things over and over.

Finally, outside of the plot itself
- I didn’t feel completely comfortable with the conversions around faith and God
- I usually like a bit more spice, while this is a clean romance
- and lastly, was there an error in this book? Christine gets so concerned with Colin knowing Lola’s name at the end and acts like she’s some huge detective but…Lola and Colin had literally talked on the phone in front of Christine when they were in the hotel room and Colin answered and was like “it’s for you”.

I really enjoyed the dual perspective from this book but it felt bogged down with how fast paced the relationship was in addition to how conflict was handled. I enjoyed the story, but it wasn’t my favorite.

The Paris Soulmate is the debut offering from Brooke Gilbert and tells the story of Christine, a woman on the verge of turning thirty who has decided to take a trip to Paris, something she has long dreamed of but never done for numerous reasons, not least of which is a range of rare autoimmune disorders which take a heavy toll on her mentally as well as physically. Before she even boards the plane she finds herself struggling and it is only with the help of a kind stranger, Colin, that she is able to get on board and keep her dream alive. The chemistry between the pair is undeniable, and Christine is starting to wonder if she has found the man of her dreams , but is it all a little too good to be true? The course of true love never did run smooth and that is certainly true of this book, and as we the readers soon learn there is more to Colin than meets the eye.
This is a sweet story, full of flirty moments and with an obvious chemistry between the main characters. The underlying set up may be implausible, but to be fair ,when you pick up a romance novel you are looking to be taken away from reality and this book will certainly do that. I appreciated that Christine was living with chronic illnesses and I thought the author did an excellent job in portraying that and helping those who do not have to live with such conditions to understand the limitations they can cause and how they impact so many aspects of daily life. Besides the sweet romantic moments there were also some genuinely laugh out loud moments , most notably involving an elderly lady on the plane. On the negative side, I thought the insta-love was a little heavy handed ,though it was interesting to see it coming from the male character first, and I found the inclusion of some religious elements towards the end of the book a little jarring and out of place.
Overall a perfectly enjoyable romance.

I do not often read romantic novels, but fancy a change now and then and liked the blurb about this book. I had thought it would be a romantic book with more depth and although that was true to some extent , on the whole I cannot say that I enjoyed the book.
I did not really take to Christine's character from the start. I appreciate that she has health problems and has not got a good track record regarding relationships, but I found her too self absorbed ( I do appreciate that it is to do with self preservation) . Colin came across as creepy at first and the love at first sight was too contrived. I personally, cannot imagine that the air hostesses would be so interested in them on the plane so that did not ring true either and there was quite a bit of repetition.
I am afraid that as a Brit, I do not always get the US point of view or humour. A British accent does not exist . Little research had been done .... Paris to Mont st Michel on a moped ? It is 4 hours drive on a motorway !!
All in all a bit too long , didn't grab my interest enough and didn't live up to my expectations of a feel good easy read. Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review .... a shame this one was not for me

Cute story about love and possibilities when you embrace your struggles and fears and learn to accept that we all are entitled to happiness. Christine is battling autoimmune disorders but has recovered enough to take a trip of a lifetime to Paris. Her best friend, Lola, is due to give birth so cannot accompany her to make sure she stays well, leaving the position open. Who will fill that position, and what are the possibilities in the city of love? I appreciated the attention and focus on flawed characters but did find that this story was sometimes a bit redundant and feel that it could have been a bit more concise while still keeping the plot strong. Still an endearing read. Thanks to the author, publisher, & NetGalley for the opportunity to review this ebook.

When I first started reading I was hooked. I loved the idea and the different point of views from the 2 characters. I liked the development of the relationship although it did feel sooo quick! I was waiting for the bomb to hit all through the book and was pleasantly surprised how it was dealt with. At times abit repetitive and I thought the sheer amount of love between the 2 was a little much but over all I enjoyed the story!

This was AMAZING. I've read alot of books this year and this book takes the cake as one of my top 5 favorite books this year. Such beautiful characters with amazing character development. Christina faces so many challenges in life and Colin is legit the right one to face them with her. So many ups and downs it had me on the edge of my seat fighting for them the entire time. The ending was unexpected but worthy. I loved every moment of this, even stayed up until 2:30am to finish it one sitting. (Yes, this is me leaving a review at 2:30am because I just put the book down and I'm in awe!!) Such a breathtaking journey. I loved how the author created these moments that just engulf you into them that you feel like you're watching it play out right infront your eyes in real time. Beautifully breathtaking.

Side note: I loved how the author took the time and made a Spotify Playlist for this book. So you can listen to it while you read along and it just feels even more magical. She also included Yin Yoga and a Movie list from the book. So much greatness wrapped up in one nicely packaged book.

“A sweet romance novel” as described on the cover is exactly what I expected when I started reading. We meet Christine, who suffers with a chronic illness and is able to finally find a way to travel to Paris. She never thought she’d be able to travel with her health the way it is, but with the help of her friend Lola, she finally convinced herself to go. She meets Colin at the airport and it was love at first sight for them(well… almost), but Colin has a secret that Christine doesn’t know - it wasn’t just a coincidence that they were on the same flight and staying at the same hotel.

I’m someone who loves cute love stories and while at times it felt quick and a little bit unrealistic, I was in love with their love story from the beginning anyway. I was rooting for them to make it all the way until the end of the book. I enjoyed that the author added some drama upon Christine finding out the truth, leaving the reader to wonder what was going to happen with their relationship after all.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I’m looking forward to reading more in the future. I give this book four out of five stars and recommend it to anyone looking for a light read full of romance. I also have to say I love that the author included a movie list and Spotify playlist at the end of the book, what a nice touch!
