And Then There Was You is a chaste, somewhat predictable story of a woman who, widowed at a young age and then taken advantage of by a con man, has to learn to trust again. There is a potential love interest, a town full of quirky and very friendly people, and a new life waiting for Natalie. It's a quick, heartwarming story, with a slight Christian bent. Perfect for a quick summer afternoon read. Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the advance digital copy!

This is such a good story about new and old love, betrayal and finding family. Natalie was living the good life until she comes home from a vacation to find her house and bank accounts empty. After her husband died, she wasn't sure she could go on until she met a man who seemed to really get her. He was a really good con man and stole everything from her. Including her self-confidence. How can she ever trust her judgement again? Randy is the detective assigned to her case. At first he thinks she might need some psychiatric care, but the more he looks into the case, the more he realizes how much the con man took advantage of Natalie's good nature. Randy is drawn to her good nature and after a while, he isn't investigating the case because it is his job, he is doing it for Natalie. Natalie really likes Randy but isn't sure she can trust her own judgement. Is he really the good guy he appears to be? Can Natalie find peace?

Ms. Naigle has written a wonderful story set in the small town of Chestnut Ridge in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Natalie Maynard lost her husband at a very young age. The lonely, grief-stricken young widow fell for a smooth talking con-man who swindled her out of almost everything she owned. The only thing she had left was her husband fishing cabin in the mountains near the little town of Chestnut Ridge. Jermey was her only family since losing her parents. Desperate to start over and rebuild her life, she decides to leave the city and move into the cabin.

Detective Randy Fellowes is determined to bring the person who destroyed Natalie’s life to justice. He is a workaholic whose whole life is his job. As he begins working closely with Natalie to solve the case he starts to think about building a future with her, not just about arresting the guy who conned her.

The friendly little town of Chestnut Ridge has its share of secrets and lovable, quirky characters. I was immersed in the story from the first chapter. I recommend And Then There Was You to anyone who likes women’s fiction. I am looking forward to the next book set in this charming little town.

This is a delightful, feel good, clean, contemporary romance novel. It is also the first book in a new series by this author, Nancy Naigle. Set in a fictitious small town called Chestnut Ridge in Virginia, readers will quickly fall under the spell of this close-knit group of inhabitants.

While reading this story, I kept thinking that it would really make a great Hallmark movie. At the end, I learned that this author has had many of her novels made into Hallmark Movies! This is certain to be another one!

This would be the perfect book and series for fans of Jan Karon's books about Mitford and/or readers who love Viola Shipman novels. I can't wait to meet these characters again in the next book in this series.

My sincere thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Natalie Maynard has just been swindled out of her life savings, her home, and her dignity by her now EX-boyfriend who has mysteriously vanished after their magical trip to a tropical paradise. At first, she clings to the hope that he has been kidnapped, but her best friend and a handsome detective finally help her realize that this man whom she trusted with her heart after losing her husband is NOT the man he seemed. Left with nothing, Natalie is forced to re-think her life plan and escape to her deceased husband’s forgotten fishing cabin in remote Chestnut Ridge. The people she meets, and the cabin itself, lead her to a discovery about the man she had married and how some secrets can start with good intention. Meanwhile, back in her hometown, the handsome detective becoming fast friend, Randy Fellowes, is unravelling some secrets of his own about Natalie’s missing ex – and his own reluctance to let this case go unsolved.

Naigle has created a sweet story about new beginnings even after intense heartbreak. I appreciate how she interweaves faith into the conversation and that she does not shy away from hard topics concerning family. The characters of Chestnut Ridge are quirky and fun and she has left a lot of room for more stories to develop in the beginning to this new series. And Then There Was You is a quick, feel-good read that made me smile and appreciate the people who pop into my life!

In this well-written story, Natalie discovers she has been taken in by a con artist who has absconded with all her savings. She takes refuge in a remote cabin she inherited from her late husband. The neighboring community is full of endearing, warm-hearted folks who remember him well and are eager to help her restart her life. Meanwhile, a dedicated detective is working hard at discovering the whereabouts and true identify of the con man. Not surprisingly, he is attractive and sparks soon start to fly between Randy and Natalie. The story unfolds at an even pace and the combination of romance and mystery elements made for an enjoyable read.

This story drew me in, immediately, and what a great feeling that was! I read a lot, but that happens too seldom, it seems. Natalie Maynard returns from a lovely vacation to find her new home empty--I mean, completely empty. Every one of her belongings is gone, as well as her partner whom she believed she purchased the nice home with.

I've often used the adjective "heartwarming" to describe a book, but this one had my whole body heated up, not just my heart. Perhaps there are some "big city folks" who wouldn't care to live in Chestnut Ridge, but it sounds idyllic to me. I'm excited to learn that this will be the first in a series about this town.

My thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy Nancy Naigle has long been one of my favorite authors, so I loved getting the chance to read her latest book early.

Natalie Maynard had lost her husband Jeremy of 15 years to a car wreck. She was having a difficult time dealing with the loss. She had finally met a guy named Marc Swindell that treated her like a princess. Even though they had only known each other for seven months they bought a house together and Marc worked in the financial business so he knew this was a great deal. They were in Cancun vacationing and he was lavishing Natalie with dresses and compliments and promising of their forever together. He had to leave her due to problem in his business. Two days later when she arrived home it was an empty house! She was so distraught she knew something had happened to Marc.

Detective Randy Fellowes was assigned to the case. In the meantime she went to live with her best friend Shelia who had recently been divorced. She knew she needed to start over so it came to her to go to the cabin her husband owned and spent time there with his buddies on No Business mountain. Along the way she runs into a sweet lady named Orene that knew everybody in this town and she was bound to help Natalie. In the meantime Detective Randy was going to solve this mystery. It was fun to meet Randy’s sister and her horse trailer refurbished. And, the dozen of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. The author does an awesome job of describing the area in the mountains and the friendships.

This was such a heartfelt story. Natalie was a widow that got taken in by a conman and he took EVERYTHING from her. She comes back from vacation to find everything she owns gone, including her clothes. She stays with her friend, Sheila, until her head clears and then she goes up to the cabin her husband owned to start over and just breathe. She was becoming friends with the detective who was working on the case and she checked in with him often. When she gets to Chestnutt Ridge, she starts making friends and working again, not realizing that the whole town knew a secret that she is shocked but not unhappy about. An excellent story that was very enjoyable

And Then There was You
Nancy Naigle

Jeremy had died two years ago although it sometimes seemed like yesterday. When she met Marc on her flight home from Texas it seemed like a gift. Natalie was attracted to him immediately. When it happened again on another flight they were both certain it meant something special. They dated and eventually bought a home and moved in together. Marc worked many hours and spent days out of town on business but Natalie could accept that. She had her own career as a nurse. Then coming home from that special cruise everything fell apart. She was confused, hurt and completely shattered.
And Then There was You by Nancy Naigle will be published by St. Martin’s Griffin of New York on June 27, 2023. I appreciate them allowing me to read and review Naigle’s latest novel via NetGalley. Her works are special. I have read them all. This one confused me as the protagonist’s world crashed and burned in the first chapters of the book. Generally Naigle gives us a heartfelt story of love, family and caring. Keep reading I did and came to appreciate her plot. With that I say no more, I don’t believe in giving away the storyline. The reader needs to enjoy Natalie’s journey. She choses a path that’s not an easy one. Would you take the easy road or the tough path? An excellent book for a long weekend. Do Enjoy!

Start of a feel good heart warming series, Natalie Maynard thought she found someone special after the lost of her husband, her soulmate. Only to find out she was conned! The man almost took everything. Thanks to her best friend at least she had a place to stay, The detective assigned to her case, Randy Fellowes feels for the broken woman and is determined to get her justice. Natalie remembers her husband’s hunting cabin in Chestnut Ridge and decides to start fresh and not to sulk about the con. Even though she only was a couple of times to the cabin she falls in love with the small town and the loving community, She remembers all the good times with Jeremy, but the detective has become more friend than just someone who is trying to catch the bad guy.
As in typical Nancy Naigle stories, wonderful characters, sweet romance and a HEA. Looking forward to more with this series. Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #AndThenThereWasYou

And Then There Was You by Nance Naigle is the first book in her new Chestnut Ridge novel. We meet Natalie Maynard, our heroine, who is on her way home from a vacation with her boyfriend, who due to business, left a few days earlier. To her shock, when she opens the door to her place, everything is gone; including her finances in the bank. When the police come, the detective in charge, gives her the bad news, that she has been scammed by professional conman, with losing everything.

Detective Randy Fellowes, our hero, explains what happen, and that he will do his best to find the culprit and help her receive justice; so far nothing has been found. Natalie has to stay at her friend’s house, and decides to see refuge at a cabin her deceased husband owned, a fishing cabin in the mountains of Chestnut Ridge. Upon arriving in Chestnut Ridge, she meets Orene, a sweet older lady, who offers Natalie a room for a couple of days, in order for her to fix up her new home. Orene learns that Natalie’s husband, who is deceased, was Jeremy, who was always part of Chestnut Ridge, and in a short time, everyone goes out of their way to welcome Natalie.

The community has been wonderful and kind to Natalie, and she begins to love Chestnut Ridge, and the beautiful nature surrounding her cabin and town. Natalie also does online card designs to make money, as well as using her nurse skills, to help those in need, for appointments, errands, etc. She meets Paul Grandstaff, an elderly man, who she would take to doctors, groceries; but he never wanted her to know exactly where he lived, since he was very private.

Randy would constantly call Natalie about anything new; and she in turn, would travel to meet him over lunch and discuss any news. In a short time, Natalie and Randy enjoy their visits, and soon they begin to have feelings; loved how Randy and Natalie were perfect for each other.

Randy gets a lead on the conman, who has also done another scam, and things are looking better for Natalie redeeming some of her finances. Paul Grandstaff, with help from Randy, will reveal a secret he has hidden for many years, and led to a wonderful ending.

And Then There Was You was a wonderful, delightful, sweet small-town romance. Nancy Naigle has written a fabulous story that was at times was heartbreaking, grief, hope and also filled with friendship and love. I loved all the fantastic secondary characters, who all opened their hearts for Natalie. I wholly suggest you read this book, as it was a great read.

Loved the relationship between Randy and Natalie..What a guy Randy is. Thank You to NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book.

When I need an uplifting, heartwarming story, I know I can always depend on getting that and more from a Nancy Naigle novel. This book definitely lifted my spirits.

Natalie Maynard is riding on cloud nine and is truly happy for the first time since her husband's tragic death. She has met a wonderful man who is treating her like a queen. However, it turns out that he is a slick and professional con man.

Detective Randy Fellowes wants to help Natalie. As he works with her on her case, he feels more than just dutybound to help her. This is a new feeling for him, and he does not quite know how to handle it. Natalie is financially destitute, but she remembers that she has a mountain cabin that belonged to her deceased husband. It is just a simple fishing cabin in the middle of nowhere. It is located in a lovely town in the Blue Ridge Mountains known as Chestnut Ridge. She needs a change of scenery, but as she makes her way to Chesnut Ridge, she does not know she will find more than a change of scenery in Chestnut Ridge.

This story is teeming with rich characters who truly love their neighbors. It was beautifully written with a wonderful inspirational message of hope for the future, second chances and healing. The characters were lifelike and their personalities literally jumped off of the page. They were the kind of people I felt I could sit down and have a cup of coffee.

You will finish this book content and feeling blessed that you have read it. Please do not miss this gift of a story. Your life will be better having read it.

Nancy Naigle is one of my go to authors. She never disappoints. And Then There Was You really pulled on my emotions as a woman. Trusting in someone and being betrayed is heartbreaking. Then finding another to love and trust who will return those emotions is scary and exciting. This book is a wonderful ride of all the feels.

Squeaky clean and heart warming. Young widow Natalie Maynard comes home from vacation to learn that her new boyfriend is a professional con-artist and has taken almost everything she owns. She reports it to the police and Detective Randy Fellowes wants to see justice done. She takes some time recovering and staying with a best friend when she recalls that her husband has a hunting/fishing cabin a couple of hours away. She wonders if she could live there as she starts over.

The small town of Chestnut Ridge welcomes her. She is a nurse and she provides some companion care but more so find other talents to help support her. In the mean time Detective Randy continues to stay in touch.

This is more women’s fiction as Natalie is the focus while she settles into small town life. She has to learn to trust again after being bamboozled. For me to call something a romance that has to be the focus for more than half the book and in this case it isn’t. Randy is a great guy but this is her story.

I’m new to the author but can see she has had books adapted for Hallmark which fits the writing. This is the first in a new series and while I enjoyed the story I wanted more of a romance. The two MCs spend very little time together until the later part of the book. Thank you to Set Martin’s Press for offering me an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving an honest review. (3.5 Stars)

And Then There Was You is a sweet story about a women, Natalie, rebuilding her life after trusting the wrong person and losing everything. She moves to a small town in the mountains and more secrets are revealed. Natalie and Randy are a good couple and I liked the natural progression in their relationship. A good lesson from this story is that family can be complicated and sometimes family is not just who we are related to.
