This was my first book from Cindy Steel, with was pretty cute. I don't think its the type of book for me so I will personally not be continuing but it was very low drama and pretty clean, if that is what you are looking for Cindy Steel is a great read for you.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This book had me giggling! Tessa and Logan’s antics were hilarious and I loved the pranks they played on each other. It was obvious they both were into each other from the beginning, but they needed the push that Jake gave them with the bet. This was such a fun and hilarious romance novel.

this book was so fun and I loved the dual narrator perspective. it is part of a series (which I haven't read any others), and worked fine as a standalone. I will definitely be picking up the others in the series now! I love steamy romcom and that's exactly what I got in this one.

Double or Nothing is my favorite of the series. The witty banter and sarcasm were perfect. I loved the story line and the past that Tessa and Logan shared together. This whole series is great. I loved seeing past characters come back. The narrators did a great job bringing these characters to life.

SO CUTE. I am kicking myself for taking so long to read this delightful romantic comedy. Full of sweet and funny moments, this best friends's brother romance is a good one!! I loved the farm town setting, the weekly dates, and the friendships. The subplot of finding yourself and what you truly love to do was well done and refreshing. The romantic tension between Tessa and Logan was top notch.

Thank you to Netgalley for my ALC of this book. All opinions here are my own.

Tessa has had a crush on her best friend’s older brother since they were kids. Now Logan is back in town, but Tessa is not interested in being just another woman to get played by him. When a mutual friend makes Tessa and Logan a bet they can’t refuse, though, they find themselves fake dating for the entire summer. Tessa is required to go on a date with Logan every Saturday and to kiss him at least once during their fake relationship. She can do that and keep her heart safe, right?

I’m a sucker for a good fake-dating story. Stacey Glemboski and David Bendena did a fabulous job narrating the audiobook. This is the second book in the Pride and Pranks series but can be easily read as a standalone. If you are looking for a delightful romcom, check this book out!

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an audio ARC of this book.

Double or Nothing by Cindy Steel

A feel good, sweet romcom. Full of laughs, competition, and swoons.

A childhood crush turned enemies plus some forced proximity is the perfect recipe for a budding romance. I loved the meddling friend and weekly dates.

An entertaining, fun escape. The audiobook is well done and I couldn’t listen fast enough.

Cindy Steel’s “Double or Nothing” is another cutesy and angsty romcom with the best friend’s older brother. We are taken on a fun ride with some all around goooood flirting, pining, fun banter, and memorable dates and I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to finish.

In the town of Eugene, OR, Tessa reunites with her childhood friends, notably her childhood crush, Logan. After all these years, and after their own breakups, both Tessa and Logan start catching up and start seeing each other in their peripheral vision…

…more so when their friend puts them up to a challenge: Go on a set number of dates and if they don’t fall in love, they’ll win his truck.

Whether it’s going on a hike or bumping into an ex at a restaurant, Tessa and Logan grow closer together as they laugh, reminisce, and banter together. Will they lock up their feelings for each other in order to win the bet?

If you’re in need of a lovely closed-door romance that will still provide all the chest aching chemistry you love about a romance, this is IT! I was gifted this e-book by the author and the audiobook by Dreamscape Media and I very much appreciated it. The narrators Stacey Glemboski and David Bendena really pull you in to the story with multiple emotions of excitement to the point you forget that you’re driving to your destination.

I loved the premise that they win the bet if they DON’T fall in love. Cute book, well narrated. It held my interest and I enjoyed it.

Book 2 in the Pride and Pranks series. Works as a stand alone.

Tessa has been in love with her best friend's brother, Logan, her entire life. Logan has the love letters to prove it- eight year old Tessa wrote many. Now, they both find each other back in their hometown. Logan's relationships are mostly limited to one night stands because he thinks he isn't marriage material. Tessa was engaged to a "player" and wants nothing to do with their type. But, a high stakes bet with another friend has them agreeing to go on a date per week. If they do NOT fall in love, they get a brand new truck. If they do fall in love, they get each other. Can they resist each other?

I enjoyed this book much more than book one (which started out good, but got very repetitive in my opinion). I honestly didn't even read book 2 because of book one. But I am glad I did! I liked both Logan and Tessa and they had very valid reasons to be reluctant to become involved. It was also laugh out loud funny at times.

The audiobook is narrated by Stacey Glemboski and David Bendena. It felt a little slow to me (I normally read at 1.5), but did not speed it up to see if it was better. Other than feeling a bit slow, no complaints on the narration.

I received an audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed Cindy Steel's first novel in this series, That Fine Line, which can be read as a standalone, and the second book, Double or Nothing, didn't disappoint! It had me smiling like an idiot, laughing out loud, and feel the anticipation of the chase and tension between the two main characters.

I loved that the audiobook has two narrators for both Tessa and Logan. They were both very expressive and enjoyable! The banter between Tessa and Logan for their bet to not fall in love was very heart warming. This forced proximity, childhood friends romance was so good!

Double or Nothing was such a cute, embarrassingly funny and adorable love story! I loved it so much that I listened to it again right after I finished it the first time. ;) The narrators, Stacey Glemboski and David Bendena, did a fantastic job bringing this story to life.

Things I loved:
Set in Idaho
Childhood crush
Flirty banter
A crazy bet that leads to “fake” dating with at least one kiss

I haven’t had the pleasure of reading very many clean rom-coms so I’m looking forward to reading more by Cindy Steel!

A really sweet, enjoyable and fun book! A little silly without a ton of depth, but sometimes you just need a pick me up and this book will give you that.

This is the second book in the Pride & Pranks Series, a Romantic Comedy. This is a great best friend’s older brother romance. Tessa and Logan's story is cute, sweet, funny, and entertaining. I liked the banter, the slow burn romance, and the humor in the story. The supporting characters are great. Excellent narration from Stacey Glemboski and David Bendena. I enjoyed it. #NetGalley #DreamscapeMedia

After reading Faking Christmas, Cindy Steel is now one of my favorite authors. This book was adorable. I didn't love the audio book, but the story was spot on. I might even go back and just read it and see if I love it even more.

Tessa has had a crush on her older brother's friend since she was a kid. Now she's grown up, and he's back in town, but she is determined to keep her heart closed this time. But what happens when the two of them keep getting thrown together? Loved the characters, loved the flirty banter, loved the funny challenges, loved tension. It was just an adorable, clean read and I will keep searching for her books in the future!

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advance listen in exchange for my honest review.

Nothing but lovely things to say about this one. I loved the dual narrators. They did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. The storyline pulled me right in and I enjoyed that the bet was believable and you could guess Jake’s intentions was just to get them to open their eyes to one another.
It was sweet and not frustrating which is how I prefer my romances.
This was the first of the series that I read so now I need to backtrack and read the others.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

This book was SO good!! I loved the dual POVs and the tension between the characters was the best! The slow burn was perfection and the plot had me from the very beginning! I love Cindy’s writing style… endearing, witty, and detailed! This book was yet another 5 star read by her!

I loved this book very much. It gave me such warm and fuzzy feelings, I loved the element of friendship and family. I'm surprised that I've never read Cindy Steel before, because now I cannot wait to read more of her books, especially the first one in this series!

All of the characters were likable and I enjoyed the playful humor and banter as well as raw emotions in this book. The dual POV was great to really get to know what was going on with everyone and who played what role in the blossoming relationship. Finally, as someone who recently found her love of Idaho, I loved the setting - I could imagine myself right there with the characters which just added to my enjoyment of the book.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book!

The way I just kinda... got sucked in? Logan and Tessa had chemistry right from the beginning. And the small town... the rules.. the teasing and flirting. The nickname Logan used to remind himself that she's "off limits".. the close friendship they both have with Jake and the way he seems to always know what was coming next for all his friends. So sweet.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC opportunity!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You may be confused by the picture but this is inspired by one of my favorite scenes in the book! Read it and you’ll see 😉

This book was everything I wanted to read the week of Valentine’s Day: Romance with passion and banter! It had one of my favorite tropes: tough guy who softens! And I loved the childhood crush on best friends brother element- it has been a while since I’ve encountered that one.

Also, I listened to this as an audiobook. I love the dual point of view but it’s even better than it has two narrators! And both were great.

Now I have to go find a copy of the first one in the series!
