A great childhood “enemies” to lovers book. Jude and Molly’s relationship is very fun and the golden doodles were a sweet addition to their story.

This is a lighthearted and enjoyable read which I've come to expect from Meredith Schorr's writing!
Molly Blum's number one nemesis is her childhood rival Jude Stark. She grew up with their families being close and their parents being best friends. Unfortunately, she's now stuck planning a very special surprise anniversary party with both sets of parents with Jude.
Molly and Jude cannot get along and the prank wars ensue immediately. As they start to have to spend more and more time together, a friendship starts to develop between the two along with sparks. Meanwhile, Molly is also trying to deal with her overbearing boss in a career pivot, while coveting another position.
The chemistry starts to build and Molly and Jude realize they have been dating one another in one shape or form for years. The two have to heal their past, while they also decide how to move forward together and in their own journey of what they want out of life.
This one included Jewish rep which I adore from Meredith since it's always realistic. I found them dating their lookalikes super hilarious. It was also fun to see NYC as the backdrop and the fun adventures the couple had in the city.
Thank you to Forever Publishing for sending me the physical ARC as well as the e-ARC.

Overall, I enjoyed this this story of enemies to friends to lovers. It was cute and funny. It featured great character growth and realizing what our dreams really are/what we really want from life.
Molly and Jude are childhood friends and neighbors turned enemies. When they are forced to work together to find a venue for their parents' joint anniversary party, old habits (ie. pranks) resurface. I will say that Molly and Jude's child-like behavior was not for me and I did not enjoy it. It did help to build an understanding of how far both have gone and are willing to go to get the other. It just made it hard for me to get into the story and to root for them until that part of the book was over. Once it was done, I was all in.
Thank you NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the eARC.

This book was cute. The main characters have a childhood rivals to lovers thing and turns out they have been dating people just like each other for forever. The main characters were a little annoying and childish at times for being 27. Also Molly blaming herself for her parents divorce as an adult was kinda silly. And the miscommunication and breakup at the end felt like it dragged on. There was some cute banter moments but overall was just ok.

This moved a little too slow for me overall, but I also felt like some aspects of the relationship as well as the "third act breakup" were glossed over a bit too much. I liked the characters and liked the history between them of being childhood friends/playful rivals but I think the emphasis on certain aspects of their lives and their stories over others just didn't connect as well with me.

This was a cute love/ hate romance story. I found it to be quite cute and compelling with adorable characters. Although it was a tad slow at times, I did enjoy the relationship between the two main characters immensely. I found the storyline to be very entertaining and endearing.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and critique this charming book.

A cute little rom com that will leave you pleasantly surprised. This was an enjoyable read. If you are interested in rom coms then you will have fun with this one.

This was a super cute book, but I really struggled in the beginning. The pranks at the start of book were really annoying and completely unrealistic. I almost quit reading, but I stuck with it and I’m glad I did because it ended on a good note. Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

This book was such a fun read!
The tension and angst between Molly and Jude was evident from the very beginning and carried perfectly throughout the book, keeping me fully invested in seeing them find their way to each other. Their characters were very well thought out with good personal conflict and backstory. The 3rd act break-up felt a little forced and unrealistic but it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story as a whole.
I love the premise of them always dating people who are exactly like the other and how that is how realization of their true feelings dawns on them...and the families always being in on it and just waiting for the two of them to recognize it. The side characters of the siblings and parents brought a familial warmth to the story. And I love Jerry and Esther....I need a book entirely about their love story please!!
P.S. the 8 years later epilogue is perfection!
This was a delightful, fun romcom read that. You'll root for the main characters, hurt for them when they mess up and yearn for them to get their happily ever after!

I received this book as an advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange, for an honest review. I loved this enemies to lovers romance, especially because it was also about first loves who grew up next-door to each other. It was light and fun and would make the perfect beach read. Highly recommend!!

Someone Just Like You has all of the opposites attract, enemies to friends to lovers, why don’t they just talk already vibes that you could ever hope for! You get witty banter plus serious name-calling, adorable dogs, tangled family dynamics, Jewish rep, and some serious cocktail love.
Meredith Schorr does a great job of creating relatable and likable MCs. Her pop culture references, including working Beatles’ lyrics into her characters’ conversations, are on point. The career and family dilemmas both MCs faced felt all too relatable and realistic - doing what you love vs what pays the bills, changing careers, being stuck in a career, and dealing with divorce.
Fantastic, fast-paced romcom that draws you in and keeps you riveted, determined to see how everything works out.

Someone Just Like You was a cute story… the characters weren’t as developed as I usually like. The main character was pretty immature- I found it hard to relate to her at several points in the book. I still have lingering questions about the relationship between the two characters— a lot of details about their past were kind of shoved into the story without a great chronology to go along with it. Maybe this would have benefitted from some flashbacks?? I had a hard time keeping the stories straight. Overall, definitely a fun world in which to spend time, but not a favorite.

TLDR: childhood enemies work together to plan an anniversary party for their parents.
Spoiler Free Review: I really wanted to love this one, but it fell short for me. I liked the two main characters, but I really didn’t like the family members (except for Nani) and that seriously detracted from the reading experience for a least half the book. The second half was better, but it felt like there were two many plot lines happening to focus on. Overall, I think this would be enjoyable for a casual romance reader, but as someone who reads a lot of romance it fell short.
Spoiler Note: the poem made me want to die. Why oh why was that needed.

I think this had potential but couldn’t connect to the characters. The family dynamic kept it interesting for me so would recommend for someone who loves friends to lovers with a little tension!

Jewish romcom that hits all the right notes.

First they were friends…
Then they were enemies…
Let the war begin!
Their families were neighbors and they were forced to get along but always had a prank ready and waiting.
Now as adults they must plan a group event for their parents. The pranks continue but they begin to see each other in a new light. You can guess what happens next!
This was a friends to enemies with a Ten Things I Hate About You vibe! It was an ok read for me. I liked them better as enemies to be honest. The romance wasn’t my favorite. But overall a fun and fast read.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley!

I so wanted to love this more than I did! With the gorgeous cover and childhood enemies to lovers premise, I was really looking forward to this read.
Unfortunately, I had a few problems whilst reading. I found the pacing to be incredibly slow, with a lack of plot to really push the narrative forward. It felt very all over the place, and I found it only picked up around the 50% mark. I didn't really feel any chemistry between Molly and Jude, and actually found them ill-suited, since they acted extremely juvenile around each other, couldn't communicate well, and never really resolved their issues. Molly herself was very juvenile for a 28-year-old, especially when it came to meddling with her parents. I wish I connected more with the protagonist to really care for her journey.
I really enjoyed the Jewish representation that was persistent throughout, with the holidays, use of Yiddish, and Jewish food described. Though, it made no sense for Molly to consider herself white-privileged, since Judaism is an ethno-religion, and has never been considered white in history. This is a qualm I have with several Jewish authors who make a note that their Jewish characters are white.
Meredith Schorr writes well, with intimate scenes written beautifully and flowing well, and humour embedded seamlessly, so I am looking forward to more of her novels.

It took me a while to get into this book, but that has nothing to do with the book itself.
I liked how Molly and Jude (rivals since birth) have been dating each others doppelgänger without realizing that they’re literally just like the person you claim to hate. It was a cute turn of events when they finally realized what was happening.
There’s a reference in here to one of my absolute favourite movies of all time 10 Things I Hate About You and that was just icing on the cake. There were a lot of other references as well (to other shows, movies, etc), but this one was my favourite!
Over all, this book was an enjoyable read! It is a slow burn so if that’s not something you like, this book isn’t for you. It was so cute at the end and it just had me smiling like an idiot during the last chapter and epilogue.

This was a delightful, well paced read by Meredith Schorr. Jude and Molly grew up together and turned into enemies somewhere along the way. They’re forced to work together to find the venue for their parents joint anniversary surprise party. After twenty years of pranks, tricks, and distrust there appears to be a spark - and their siblings noticed it long ago. The beginning was a bit juvenile with the pranks but I think likely necessary for character development and to set up the story. The banter was good and their history gave them connection and trust. I enjoyed the depth given to Molly with a career struggle and some other life lessons to experience. I would have enjoyed a dual point of view to better understand Jude, though definitely not a deal breaker. I really enjoyed the plot and it was an easy read with great characters! I couldn’t put it down!

I loved the premise of this book, lifelong enemies to lovers. Intertwined families, polar opposite lead characters. All the perfect combo for an enemies-to-lovers romcom.
I definitely enjoyed the witty banter between these two and the fact that they dated the doppelgängers of one another for YEARS.
Definitely, a really feel-good book, I think the development of Molly was great with her career path and her type-A personality.
However, there was a month gap after the two got together and I needed some more there. Was it a cute read? Yes. Great after a book hangover. But there was nothing that made me want to pick it up or stay up late to read so it took me a little while to finish this one.
Cute plot, nice characters, I just wanted a little more.
