Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
It is important that you read this series in order, this is the third and concluding novel.
I found the novel to be exciting as the main characters continue to search for the mystery of the disappearing hikers. This was a quick paced novel, with flawed characters seeking God in handling fear, anxiety and forgiveness. I recommend this book for those who like a little romance and mystery in an inspirational novel.

This is the last book in the Annie Pederson Trilogy. The series is best read in order, I've read all three books in this series. The series is set in Michigan's Upper Peninsala and starts where the second book ends, Law Enforcement Officer Annie Penderson is used to tragedy but is looking for life to be easier. Her first love and biological father of her daughter is back in her life and it looks like marriage is in their future, Annie and her sister Sarah are starting to build their relationship and learning to trust each other. With the investigation of missing hikers,. in the Upper Peninsala, Annie stumbles on something that is out of her league and she finds herself trying to outwit the hunter in a run for her life.

This book is dark and absolutely thrilling, not for the faint hearted!
This third book in the series brings more intrigue into what has been a life of sadness for Annie Pederson. The characters are complex but the author shows sensitivity in the development of the story.
Annie is rebuilding relationships within her family circle, life seems to be going well. The suspense builds as Annie faces new dangers, reading this book made me feel like I was feeling the emotions along with the characters!
Annie rides a roller coaster of emotion and upheaval, struggling to keep those closest to her safe. The mystery and suspense are cleverly written to leave the reader guessing!

Thank you to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Break of Day was the perfect final (I think) installment to the Annie Pederson series. This book would not make sense as a stand alone, but it is a great finale.

I loved seeing the reunion and rebuilding of Annie and Sarah’s relationship in this book. I was also glad to see less of Kylie to be honest. I understand why her character was written the way she is, but by book #2 I was getting tired of her attitude. The parts we saw of her in book #3 were much better.

One thing I appreciated about this series was getting to see the relationship between Annie and John come together through the series instead of just coming together at the very end. Many books in this genre jump from character to character in each book with new relationships. It is refreshing to see a change from the norm. I hope to see more like this from Colleen.

After reading the first two books as they were released, I was so excited to get a copy of this from NetGalley.

This book had me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath! I don’t always read all the books in a series but I had to finish this series. I loved it! I always know when Colleen Coble’s name is in the cover of a book that it is going to be good.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Loved it! I read this as a stand alone and had no trouble slipping into the story. This story is filled with suspense, betrayal, and a diabolical plot against the main character. Great hometown sleuth vibes!

What a ride for wrapping up the Annie Pederson trilogy! There were so many stories to wrap up and they were done in such a manner as to keep me hooked. There was family drama, romance, faith, friendship, forgiveness, suspense, and all the feels of an emotional roller coaster. Although many people say this can be read as a stand alone book, I found the continuity of the story is easier to connect having read the first two books in the series. I love the stories set in Rock Harbor, MI, the people we have come to know, and I hope we have the opportunity to return in a new book or series.

What a great finish to the Annie Pederson trilogy! While it could be read as a stand alone, it’s much better read after the first two books in the series. There are plenty of questions in this complex mystery, unexpected twists, family drama, nail-biting suspense, faith, forgiveness, and love. I was definitely hooked and couldn’t put it down! I loved the characters and hope there is a return to Rock Harbor in future books!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. I didn’t realize that this was the ending of a trilogy so maybe that’s why I didn’t enjoy it as much as others did. I had a hard time relating to the characters and the plot was a little too dark and hard to believe.

Book Title: Break of Day

Series: Annie Pederson #3
Publisher: Thomas & Mercer
Genre: Christian Mystery

My Rating: 4 Stars!

I am a big Colleen Coble fan. This is my twentieth novel and Third in the Annie Pederson series.
I read and loved both "Edge of Dusk" #1 in this series and "Dark of Night"!
This is the final book in this series.
Although I did read the other two, I did a bit of review before starting this one
In Book #1 Annie a thirty-three year old law enforcement ranger and the Manager of the Tremolo Resort and Marina in Rock Harbor ~ which she inherited when her parents died.
(Note: If you are a [author: Colleen Coble|33227] fan you know that her “Rock Harbor” is a Great series!
When Annie was eight years- old, her five-year-old sister, Sarah, was kidnapped. Her sister is back in town and it upset with Annie for not saving her twenty-four years ago.
Annie has doubts that this woman is really her sister as her behavior is toxic to the point of kidnapping little Kylie

Annie and her eight-year old daughter Kylie live alone ~ as Annie’s husband Nate died in a suspicious boating accident.

In Book #2 We find out that Jon Dunstan, an Orthopedic Surgeon who has always been the life of Annie’s life has returned after nine years. Annie and Jon were a couple but when they broke up Nate who was best friends to both was there to comfort Annie – they already liked each other so it seemed easy to fall in love and marry. However when Jon returns and has Celiac Disease as does Kylie ~ Hmm~ Celiac Disease is inherited -

NOW - Book #3 Things are good for Annie, and it seems an engagement ring is in her future also she now has more trust in Sarah.

When a man escapes law enforcement custody and Sarah’s safety is suddenly in question, Annie is of course on this. Annie is investigating hikers who have gone missing in the remote woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula next thing Annie is the one being hunted.

Personal Note: This is the last in this series but I am hopeful Annie and Jon will turn up in another Rock Harbor story.

In ‘A Note from the Author’ – Ms. Coble tells us that her mother had passed away due to Alzheimer’s shortly after the book was finished.
We know that her mother is a happy with God and will continue to love and help Colleen.
Additionally I know Colleen has many memories that will always keep her mother near.

BTW: I am pleased that Ms. Coble was able to finish this series with Annie and Jon being happy.

Want to thank NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for granting me the pleasure of reading this early eGalley.

This a great finale to a great series. The tension is ongoing between the characters, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This novel could stand alone, but if you've read the series you will enjoy it more. The action has some surprises to it that keeps the reader engages.

Thank you to NetGalley for and advanced copy for my honest opinion.

Break of Day by Colleen Coble was the third installment of her Annie Pederson series. It was edge-of-your-seat action/adventure through the entire series. Book 3 was just as thrilling with danger around every corner. If you haven’t had the chance to read this series, you’re missing out!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.

An exciting conclusion to the series! Picking up where book 2 left off, the main characters continue to search for the answer to the mystery of disappearing hikers, while dealing with threats closer to home.

This story kept my interest from page one and held it with quick-paced writing, plenty of action, a multi-layered complex plot, and flawed characters who are learning what it means to be a family. Their traumas from the end of the last book carry over, and Annie is faced with yet another situation that has her sister involved. I like how the author brings all of their perspectives into view, and helped make each of their struggles feel real. Their situation was a perfect set up to add a theme of how to deal with fear, anxiety and trusting God. Prayer and forgiveness also added spiritual depth to their story. I liked the wrap up at the end, leaving a hopeful outlook. It is always fun to see Bree and Kade too from the Rock Harbor series.

Recommend reading the series in order. Mystery and romantic suspense fans should enjoy this terrific series.

I did not realize that Colleen Coble's "Break of Dawn" was the last book of a trilogy, so I WILL be reading the other two books! Thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish.
Thank you, Net Galley and Thomas Nelson, for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I've been a fan of this series since the first book but this book went too far in the wrong direction! Horribly disturbing plot!! The primary characters are great - honest, trustworthy, and dedicated to helping people. The rich guy is definitely not any of these things. One star for the horrible, disturbing plot. Edit: I'm still have bad dreams because of this a week later!

Wow. This Is NOT what I was expecting as a new installment of this series. Not crazy about the ramped up Christian/God's plans part of the story so I just skip over these. Until about fifty percent, the story followed the typical pattern of events (police work, rescues and investigating Northwoods crime) but then the plot took a very ugly and VERY disturbing turn. I won't say what because it'll spoil the book for others but I will say it was upsetting enough that I pretty much skipped over the last 40% of the story, reading maybe a sentence or so on every other page. Definitely don't read this before bed if you are at all sensitive to human cruelty, especially 'for sport'.

First and foremost, my thanks to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Publishing, and the author for an advanced copy of Break of Day.

This is fast reading novel for fans of mysteries. The protagonists Annie and Jon are very engaging. The other cast of characters are too numerous and keeping all of them straight is confusing. A cast of characters page would be beneficial to readers in navigating through so very many people and how they are related to one another.

I attempted to read this installment but quickly realized it is absolutely necessary to read this series sequentially. There is a lot of background and events that the reader needs to be privy to in order to try to follow the storyline. It becomes convoluted and confusing as former events and characters in book one and two are referenced. Therefore, highly recommended to start with the first book in the series!

Action packed, this story will keep the reader turning pages with its high levels of suspense and danger. This was a really good continuation of Annie, Kylie, and Jon’s story. Wow. Honestly, the level of suspense in this one was strong. The depth of evil in the villains of this story was shocking. But, the level of Annie’s persistence and continued faith shone far stronger than the threats she and her family face. The reader might lose some sleep over this one, because it is hard to put it down! Some big issues were tackled in this book, too, in addition to the suspense plot. Forgiveness, love, truth revealed, and false relationships really bring the reader to a place of thoughtfulness and introspection. Add in some romance and some long awaited happiness, and this is a well written book a variety of readers will enjoy.

I requested and received a copy of this book for review. The words and thoughts expressed here are wholly my own.
