I just could not get into this. I wanted to love it so much because I want to read more books with raccoons.

I love raccoons and think they are smart and coo; animals, This book deserves credit for making it about the bandits.

Difficult to read, sometimes long-winded, sometimes too laconic, sometimes too old-fashioned. The addition of dramatis personae at the opening of each section has the effect of intimidating the reader instead of easing the experience. The concept is very interesting, but the book takes itself way too seriously for a tale of talking raccoons.

Funny and heartwarming without feeling forced. I absolutely love the concept of an anthropomorphic raccoon family and their journey in life. My favourite part was Act I and the depiction of the family’s dynamic.
