I loved the narration and how it allowed me to enjoy a book that is totally our of my genre. It would be great if there was a YA edition for those wanting to experience this world. I would love for the young folks within the BIPOC community can see this as a potential career goal. Great informative read.

I find memoirs fascinating. I don't think that they're everyone's cup-o-tea for certain, but there's something intriguing about the lives that other people live and the whole idea of hard work and perseverance providing someone a path to their own success is really uplifting. While this isn't quite Viola Davis's Grammy Award winning audiobook of the year, I certainly enjoyed listening to Dallas's journey from spunky kid who wanted to buy himself a go-cart to the mega-niche corporate real estate leader that he is today.

Going into this book, I had a basic understanding of the barriers that people of color and specifically Black individuals have faced in the real estate and legal arena (thanks to Rothstein's Color of Law, 2017) but I enjoyed learning about the first hand account from an individual who lived in the moment and was dealing with the consequences of segregated professional obstacles, burdens and racial disparities.

I appreciate the narration by Aaron Goodson, giving voice to the words and verve of a very personal story or growth and development over his lifetime. He remained energetic throughout and kept the flow moving.

Thanks to Advantage Media Group, Forbes Books via NetGalley for the advanced audiobook copy for an honest review.
