This adorable and Ryan ting tale takes us on an unexpected journey through the natural world, full of not so smug moments.

Our snug bug just wants to rest, but when their doorbell rings and they answer the door, the rest of their day is full of escaping dangers while trying to maintain positivity.

I loved the illustrations and how catchy the rhyming was! And the message of putting your foot down and not passively accepting the circumstances around you, and instead changing the path was really touching!

What does it mean to be Snug as a Bug? An unsuspecting bug answers a knock on his door, only to be greeted by a snake. He runs away fast as he can, but more dangers await in this adventurous tale.

“I may be small…. but I’m mighty!” Bright, dynamic illustrations enhance the fun of this upbeat, rhyming picture book. Perfect for reading aloud, parents and teachers can use this story to open a discussion about choosing how we react to challenges and setting healthy boundaries.

Small and mighty is Snug as a Bug?. I loved the repetition of the rhyme and all of the humor in this book. Great add to any kids library.

Thank you, Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books, for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My 3 year old thought this book was so funny we read it twice in the first sitting!! Ronald is constantly running away from predators while wanting to go home and be “snug as a bug in a rug” which is something I say every night tucking my daughter into bed. The pictures are cute and the one line “not today snake, not today” my daughter thought was especially funny

This book will keep kids interested in story! The storyline is hilarious and unpredictable. The imagery is basic enough yet still good.

This bug thinks he is as snug as a bug can be but oh is he wrong when he is on the run being chased by many different creatures. Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!

I like the rhyming and pace of the book, and I think the text is fun to read. The different characters and text give good opportunity to practice reading, and I would definitely use this in a story time. The illustrations are fun, and support the story well.

What a great book! I'm a prek teacher and this book could be put in a number of our themes. Reptile theme, insect theme. And it could be exiting to read because of the multiple times the bug repeated how he was snug as a bug. The illustrations were good. It would be a great story to read to Littles to teach them how many animals depend on bugs for food.

This is such a hilarious story that I can see being perfect for story times at the library. The illustrations are bright and colorful and the story has a few unexpected moments that make it fun. I also love the story's overall theme of overcoming a day where everything seems to be going wrong. This is sure to be a favorite for many kids!

I downloaded this onto the iPad to read with my 4 and 1 year old. I didn’t expect it to be such a hit. The 4 year old has asked for it multiple times and the 1 year old listened attentively whilst shouting repeatedly shouting ‘bug’ so it was definitely a hit with both of them!!

I loved the quirky brightly coloured illustrations. There’s lots of detail without it all being too chaotic. I especially loved the cave with the multiple spider eyes (creepy) 🕷️

The story is engaging with just the right amount of mild peril for pre schoolers. The writing form reminded me a bit of Julia Donaldson (which is no bad thing. We’ve got all her books!).

I enjoyed this one a lot and can definitely imagine myself reading it every day for the next six months without complaint which is a high accolade for me when it comes to kids books!

Awwww..... what a sweet book for kids! I can see why kids would like this book as there is tension built with wondering if Ronald the bug will escape the other creatures looking to eat. I had a chuckle at the end when the doorbell rang and it turns out it was his mother going for a visit.

Cute book! Would definitely recommend people read it to young kids.

Oh gosh this is super cute but so much fun too. Bug is as snug as a bug in a rug until there's a knock on the door from an unexpected visitor who wants to eat him! Well from there his night turns into perilous turmoil as one creature after another decides that he's a tasty snack. Will he make it back to his cosy bed?

There's a wonderful rhyming patter and the repeated refrain of being snug as a bug is lots of fun for children to join in with. This book would be a wonderful classroom read-aloud. My daughter loved how the text in the book helped tell the story by how bold it was or the direction of the text. It's a super engaging book and you are absolutely rooting for the main character Ronald the bug from start to finish. We loved the pink strip on the page where he stuck up for himself - a great message for kids. The twist at the end had us in fits of giggles.

I couldn't agree more with my daughter's review:
Six year olds review - 5 star - Great, amazing and enthusiastic.

Snug as a bug is a colorful and hilarious children’s book that details a wee bugs life when he opens the the door ! Moral of the story from what I gathered was don’t open the door 😂. This was a cute , comedic read that children of all ages would enjoy !
