Moose and Bear are two shelter dogs patiently waiting for the right owner to adopt them. Moose only has one eye, and Bear only has three legs, so they don't get a lot of visitors. When they meet they become best friends, doing lots of things together, even getting stuck in a tree. One day a lady named Cathy decides to take them both home. They love their new home with the nearby woods, chasing rabbits and their new friend, Mailman Joe. One day something changes, a fence is built to keep them safe, although they are not happy. They dig a hole under the fence and can now come and go, but so can other animals. One day there is a new friend in their yard, named Tiger. It takes some time, but they all become friends and become comfortable in their new home with Cathy. The Rescues Finding Home is a cute story about friendship, found family and home. It also shares the message about rescuing animals, and that they don't have to be perfect. The text is simple, but shares a lovely message. I liked that it was easy to read for my granddaughter to read to her brother. My grandchildren have a rescue dog and cat that they found in their yard under the bushes when she was a kitten. She looked a bit like Tiger, so they loved that and when my granddaughter read the story, my grandson kept changing Tiger's name, which frustrated her, but he thought it was funny. A cute story with a good message. We talked about why no one seemed to want Moose and Bear, and my older grandchild chimed in about people judging others based on the way they look or how they might act. He is on the autism spectrum and this is a big thing for him. Overall this was a successful book for us.

This is about two shelter dogs that have trouble finding a home due to their differences. But once they find each other everything else falls into place. This book is so sweet and helps your child understand that everyone is different and we should emphasize their strengths. Love the message and illustrations.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Rescues Finding Homes is a wonderful book for early readers or animal lovers. I did find myself mumbling let Tiger in your bed so he can sleep.

I see the animals at the rescue I volunteer for in these three lucky friends. I makes me happy

Such an important message, this was the first book I have read that involved rescue animals! I loved that is what the focus of the first chapter was! The book was very cute and I enjoyed the illustrations, the writing could have been a little better, but my kids, ages 6,4 &2 all loved the book and wanted to read it again as soon as it was over.
