This book was a straightforward enemies-to-lovers storyline. I liked the grumpy/sunshine aspects. This book appealed to the animal lover in me. It felt like it was missing something to make it spectacular, but it was almost there. I loved the diversity of the cast of characters, with Parisa being Persian and Malakai being Italian. I feel like it represented these cultures very well and respectfully. My favorite part was the secret side romance between Ren and Autumn. It had a slow beginning, and I admit I had trouble getting into it. I liked Parisa's inner dialogue and how we saw what she was going through and struggling with. The banter between Parisa & Malakai was top-notch and exactly the type I would want in an enemies-to-lover book. I wish there were more character development because I feel like no characters grew as people; they just fell in love. The love triangle aspect also fell flat for me because she was leading Dane on, and it just felt disrespectful and toxic. This book was predictable, but in the ways a cozy mystery is predictable. I knew what I was getting out of this book and received that exact thing.

4.5 stars
A lovely slow burn rom-com. I really enjoyed the setting of the story with the main characters being vets and animals being an integral part of the story. Malakai and Parisa are the perfect pairing once they finally realise they like each other. But it does take them a long time to accept their feelings for each other, and their communication could have been so much better if they had only talked about their feelings sooner! Great chemistry between the main characters.
A good book to read on holiday or the beach, not too taxing with a satisfying ending. Perfect for fans of rom-coms.

This was funny and light and an easy read. It's got dogs, the beach, surfing, smoothies, and two vets with opposing philosophies who have lots of meetups.
There's a heap of characters, not too much angst but so much going on and the friction between the two leads didn't feel authentic. A super light and uncomplicated read.
Thanks very much to NetGalley for the ARC.

This was a really sweet work rivals/enemies-to-lovers read. Overall I thought the main characters Parisa and Malakai had entertaining banter and I enjoyed seeing them grow closer over the length of the book. Along with the well developed main characters was a great cast of side characters who were intertwined with one another and had their own events happening in the book, adding to the complexity and authenticity of the whole story.
I would have liked to see more clearly the romance evolve between Parisa and Malakai since a lot of their relationship during the book was held back by other love interests who seemed sort of pointless past the first date.
overall I would recommend this for anyone looking for their next slow burn, enemies to lovers romance!

Cute, fun, and quick read. This book was so much fun to read. I loved the banter between the main characters and how their relationship evolved in the story. The enemies-to-lovers trope is one of my favorites and this definitely delivered.
Parisa and Malakai are two veterinarians with practices next door to each other. Their views of best practices for caring for animals vary greatly. Their beginning conflict stems from Malakai claiming that Parisa is not a "real vet" because of her beliefs about treatments. The tension is full blast and the banter never stopped.
If you're looking for a good enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, Rom-Com, look no further!
Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for granting me this ARC read for an honest review.

This was one of my favorite books this year.
I love how they didn't get together right after their first kiss, it gave some tension.
And GIRL, those things that happened after the party, I was almost crying.
It was written so well that I stayed up until 3 AM to finish it.

A funny book, but the drama and miscommunication between them goes on a bit too long and kind of turns them from charming to immature and a bit unlikeable. It mist started dragging and became mostly unbelievable.

I'm a huge sucker for anything involving pets especially enemies to lovers and work rivals. I mean how can you not love it? This was such a quick read for me I really enjoyed it.

From the first chapter I liked the voice Parisa was given and I enjoyed the story right away. It was a slow-burn book and both Parisa and Malakai had to overcome multiple obstacles until they went from enemies to lovers. Without it becoming too many obstacles and becoming unbelievable.
(Most) characters were very likable and you also get some cute dog content (even though some had... odd names: Pup Tart, Little Bow Wow adn FurrElise for example).
Most of the characters also weren't "standard" people, with that I mean not everyone had the same background. Scottish/Italian, Persian, Japanese. It wasn't he main focus of the story but it definitely had had a place.
In the 'about the author' it said that Elise loves to write funny, romantic stories that give readers a mental vacation. And the book definitely gave me a mental vacation (which I hadn't realised I needed from only reading fantasy books with (too) many characters.
I'm also interested in Gianna's story and other books written by Elise Eliot.
Enemies to lovers
Slow burn

This was all kinds of cringe and I wasn’t here for it. I found it to be very juvenile and the characters majorly lacked any depth. It also got repetitive and I found myself having to skim read to finish it. Not a a read for me.
Thank you to the publishers for the gifted copy.

This was a nice book. The animals were just too adorable. The love story was predictable but enjoyable and it's a good read for those times when you don't want anything too heavy.

Love Unleashed is a sweet story of two Veterinarians with very different approaches to helping animals but also cannot avoid the strong chemistry between them. I am not a big fan of miscommunication tropes so if you feel the same way know that ahead of time. Other than that it was a nice story and I would be interested to see who the next couple would be in the series.

As someone who works with pets, I looked forward to reading this and hoped this would be a nice fun light story with a bit of enemies-to-lovers. I couldn’t take the extreme lack of professionalism exhibited by both main characters - towards each other, towards their employees, and towards pets and their people. The public shouting matches and zero-to-sixty of it all, it was just too much to believe that either of these people were compassionate and functional business-owning adults. I finally had to set it down and surrender hope it would get better.
* I received an ARC of this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I won't lie, the cover is what initially drew me to this one. But the story line kept me hooked from the beginning. I loved the characters and everything about it.

This cover is one of my all time favorites and drew me in! Im glad I was able to read early because I adored this title! This enemies to lovers, slow burn was such a good read! I loved that both main characters were veterinarians. It really added a nice element to the story and tension kept me on my toes. Highly recommend!

Love Unleashed is a romcom between 2 vets that own businesses which exactly being right next to each other. Malakai is a traditional vet, and Parisa practices holistic and spiritual remedies for pets. This makes them to be competitive, and argue a lot due to different belief on animal treatment.
The concept is interesting, I love the setting, I love the description about the sea etc. I like it at first, as their argument is really intense. I try hard so hard to like the story and the characters but unfortunately I couldn't love it. I don't really see how they can have great chemistry (their feelings toward each other is also too sudden and abrupt. Like I could not imagine having an intense argument with someone I hate and the next 5 minutes I think of kissing them). Their banter was okay but some comes out cringe, and childish. I did not hate Parisa character, I admire how she love animal so much to the point she want to become vet, working hard to prove to her parents. But I hate how indecisive she is and how she use Dane (the second love interest) and calling him out as a boring person just because they have opposite personality. Like why going out with someone, when all you could think is Malakai, and the kissing between her and Malakai while she's dating Dane is pissing me off. Cheating? really?
Malakai is even more annoying character. urgh. I wish he could respect Parisa boundary more. Not suddenly on kissing her without consent? Well, at least they suit each other i guess.
Overall, it was an ok read. Thank you to Netgalley for the review copy.

Parisa Hadid and Malakai Dixon are neighbors. Well, their opposing vet practices are in the same complex. However, Dr. Dixon specializes in surgeries and medicines, while Dr. Hadid's holistic approach to care is the center of her specialty. However, Parisa's parents don't approve of her passion project and want her to focus on being what they consider a 'real' vet. Malakai wholeheartedly agrees. He is frustrated beyond belief by Parisa's holistic events including dog yoga in the shared courtyard. Her events bring back bad memories and disturb Malakai's patients. It has to stop. But with their fighting comes tension and chemistry, feelings neither Parisa nor Malakai can shake. Love Unleashed follows the tumultuous relationship between Parisa and Malakai with plenty of twists along the way.
This book had a slow beginning, but not in a great way. I found myself not really wanting to pick it up. There was a lot of internal dialogue, and it definitely painted the picture of the hardships Parisa was working through. However, the beginning just didn't do it for me. By around page 50 or so, it started to get interesting. The banter between Parisa and Malakai was so good, and they had such chemistry. It was really enjoyable to read. This book sort of reminded me of Set It Up because Autumn and Ren got together, and they were trying to get their bosses together too. Overall, I enjoyed this book, and I really liked the way it represented real problems. However, I did have one big problem with this book, and it was Parisa.
I really liked her as a main character. She was interesting and passionate about her job. However, I don't think she showed any true growth throughout this book. Especially with the introduction of Dane. Dane is a secondary love interest that creates a bit of a love triangle between Parisa, Dane, and Malakai. At this point, Parisa and Malakai knew they liked each other, but Malakai was the only one who was doing anything about it. In fact, Parisa was actively trying to not do anything about it. She went on multiple dates with Dane, even though she fell asleep during his work stories and daydreamed about Malakai the whole time. Like why are you with him if you're thinking about someone else the whole time?
In Parisa's defense, she tried to slow things down between her and Dane because he loved her after like ten minutes. But she never tried hard enough. When he would say something that slightly made her rethink her decisions, she let it go until she felt it again. Girl, if you want to break up with him on more than one occasion, you gotta just rip the band-aid. Stop forgetting to break up with him and also be true to your gut feelings. She didn't listen to her gut enough. Additionally, my whole notes section for the middle part of this book was basically 'Dane WTF' over and over again. In conclusion, Parisa needs to grow a pair, Dane needs to go away, and I need to find myself a Malakai.
Malakai (Kai) is so swoon-worthy. His internal dialogue is EVERYTHING. You can tell that he's a male character written by a woman for women, but I don't even care! He makes my heart flutter. His romantic gestures and his devotion to his family are only the scratch of the surface. Some quick notes about this book: the main conflict in this story that brings Kai and Parisa together is heartbreaking, the ending was confusing and was setting up for the next book, but I thought it was ill-placed and felt like it was haphazardly put at the end. This book was predictable but in a good way. I was happy by the end of it, even if the last like three chapters and the epilogue were meh. With that and the beginning of the book, it could've been worse. But the middle of the book was just so good, I couldn't put it down. This book is available now to purchase, and thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

An opposites attract story. With neighboring business and differing ideas, will Parisa and Kai be able to settle their differences and realise they are right for each other? A great read.

This enemies to lovers Rom-Com is seriously one of the best. He's a vet, she is a all natural treatment. They are one of my favorite book couples.
I just reviewed Love Unleashed by Elise Eliot. #LoveUnleashed #NetGalley

Thanks to Netgalley for the E-ARC. This was such a sloooowwww burn but I was here for all of it. This was such a easy read and I loved all the shenanigans of Parisa and Malakai. If it is this fun being a vet then I am in the wrong profession I need to go and find me a Malakai. Can we also talk about the support characters who were so adorable as well. Cant wait to read more in this series.
