This one is a little all-over-the-place. The style is picture book, though the text is definitely for older readers, so I'm assuming it's meant for a parent to read to a child. (There is one drawing of naked people, so prudes beware!) The book covers conception, through birth and the raising of a variety of young creatures - quite a lot packed into a short, very informative book.

I would have found this fascinating as a kid, particularly the bits about marsupials and monotremes.

This book was so cute to read with my toddler. Seeing mamas and their mammal babies gave us the opportunity to pick out differences and similarities. The illustrations are well done, too.

Mama Mammals provides a unique perspective on the topic of reproduction. This is a difficult discussion to have with young children, mostly because of their lack of comprehension of the subject. The book uses attractive imagery, coupled with descriptive and factual text to paint a big picture. Children will likely be more receptive to learning the subject when reading about animal friends and their babies. This book is extraordinary, and a definite go-to when searching for books related to reproduction. Mama Mammals is a breath of fresh air!

Cute and informative book about stages of mammal reproduction, from mating, conception, gestation, to raising young. I enjoyed the small blurbs about all different experiences in the mammal family. I just wish the book was longer, as it introduced some higher level concepts that would be more suited for older readers with a longer attention span.

This book goes through the reproductive process of many different types of mammals. It is certainly for older readers. I wish it had real pictures of the mammals instead of illustrations.

This is a fun, educational book for young readers. The book is full of lots of great information about animals and their life cycles. The illustrations are colorful and engaging. My son enjoyed learning about animals he hadn’t heard of before. It was a catalyst for a great conversation with my young son.
