I really wanted to enjoy this one but after a few chapters I could tell that this one just wasn't for me.
The characters just didn't intrigue me and I just didn't quite feel any instant connection to the characters and did not get on with the humour. Things also started to feel quite repetitive for being so early on in the book and I found quite a few grammatical errors (could have been my version and these might have been updated since).
I'm gutted because I'm enjoying Hockey Romances at the moment but this one just wasn't for me.

The Cutting Edge is a fresh and flirty sports romance that pairs a hockey heartthrob with an Olympic figure skater in the most unexpected—and totally entertaining—way. Logan’s in a slump, Coco’s in debt, and their solution? A lucky charm deal that turns into something way more complicated (and way more swoony).
The chemistry between Logan and Coco is instant and electric, but what really makes this story shine is the emotional tension beneath the sparkle. Coco’s secret adds just the right dose of drama, and watching her navigate the fallout had me flipping pages like I was chasing a game-winning goal.
If you love stories with high stakes, lovable leads, and a little bit of ice magic, this one’s a total win. Perfect for fans of sports romance with heart—and a few triple axels.

This is a romance between Logan, a star pro hockey player, and Coco, an Olympic figure skater. Logan has a daughter, Poppy. Coco teaches classes in figure skating, and Poppy is one of her students. Logan is late picking her up one day, and Coco takes Poppy to the rink to see if Logan is there. He is practicing, and doesn't see them. His puck hits Poppy in the head, and she is hospitalized.
Logan has been having trouble getting his pucks where they need to go, but mysteriously, when Poppy is around, the problem clears up. I really enjoyed reading this story with its emphasis on family and friends, as well as the romance.
I received an e-arc from the publisher Siesta Key via NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed it.

If you love hockey romances this is definitely the book for you. Coco, an ice skating coach and Olympic ice skater, takes a puck to the head from an NHL player when returning his daughter to him because he forgot to pick her up from practice. From that point forward Logan Rivers is constantly trying to make up for the damage that he caused. Coco’s career is put on hold, but can she forgive Logan for what he inadvertently did to her and resist his charms at the same time? Logan’s team, the Saint Pete Slashers, are in the Stanley Cup playoffs and Coco seems to be a good luck charm for them. It’s in the team‘s best interests for Coco to stick around and a back room deal is cut to ensure that she does so.
This was a great book and I really enjoyed it and I will definitely read more by Lisa Daily and I hope that this series is continued.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book.

If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted, steamy sports romance with a dash of humor, The Cutting Edge by Lisa Daily is a delightful pick. This book follows Logan Rivers, a star pro hockey player for the St. Pete Slashers, who finds himself in a slump. Enter Coco, an Olympic figure skater who strikes a deal to be Logan’s lucky charm to pay off her training expenses. What starts as a business arrangement quickly turns into something more as their chemistry ignites both on and off the ice.
The banter between Logan and Coco is one of the highlights of this book. Their witty exchanges and growing attraction kept me hooked from start to finish. Logan is the quintessential swoon-worthy hero—charming, caring, and just the right amount of brooding. Coco is strong, independent, and unapologetically passionate about her sport. Together, they make an engaging and entertaining couple.
The pacing is quick, making it an easy read for a weekend getaway or a cozy evening in. The setting of professional hockey and figure skating adds a unique twist to the sports romance genre, and the behind-the-scenes glimpses into their worlds were both fun and informative.

I absolutely loved Coco and Logan's relationship, a thoroughly enjoying and uplifting read. Thank you netgalley for the arc

The Cutting Edge is a light, enjoyable read with a charming tone and an easy flow. Lisa Daily has a fun writing style that makes the story accessible and entertaining. It’s a solid choice for a relaxed weekend. Hockey romance's are my favorite!

This was fun and breezy, not as steamy as some other hockey romances but definitely very flirty. I enjoyed the banter and the chemistry, even if it felt a bit quick.

I would give any sport romance a try but I feel like this did not click with me. I finished it but I was not that interested in the story or the characters at times and for me that is a sign that the plot feels not very put together.

Okay, here is the thing I was going to push through this but this man’s bought her so many gifts because he felt guilty that he injured her to the point that she couldn’t skate for almost two weeks. He even got Vera Wang to make a custom outfit for her ice skating competition AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN DATING!!! How is this a romance when legit she’s been in the hospital for 5 days with a concussion. Like there is no swooning or romance. He buys her things to buy her affection.

I read a few chapters of the books and while the premise was fun, I found there was some repetition of ideas and the writing was pretty simple. There was a lot of "telling" instead of "showing" and the characters felt a bit immature.
I ended up skipping to the end to see how things wrapped up and I was fine with not reading the middle section.

Thank you to Netgalley and Siesta Keyy for the opportunity to read and review this book. I will be honest this book just looked ADORABLE to try, and it truly was. However, I feel like the premise started out great and then plateaus in the middle and stays that way through the entire story. I feel like only the female leading lady had an in-depth story and character development. If that is what you prefer, then I would recommend it for you. In addition, the spice level is a 1.5 level. To me, that means that they kiss and imply sexy times, not on page. In addition, if you hate gift giving as a love language, do not read this. Because of these points, I have to give this 4 out of 5 stars.

This book was adorable. I felt attached to the characters and I was like “now kiss!!!” the entire time.

As a fan of the 1992 move sharing the same title, this book was a quick read for me. If you liked Icebreaker by Hannah Grace, this is kind of a similar vibe. I wanted this book to be better, but it wasn't bad by any means. I probably wouldn't buy it in a physical copy for myself, but I'm not mad that I read it. It was a great beach read, if you're looking for something easy to read that doesn't require much thought

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book, unfortunately this book was just not for me.

First and foremost thank you so much to netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. The thoughts are all my own.
This was such a cute fast read! I love the character development and growth. I’m a sucker for such a cinnamon roll of a guy!!

Lisa Daily’s *The Cutting Edge* offers a light and fun romance that combines the thrill of professional sports with the charm of a quirky, fake-it-‘til-you-make-it premise. While the setup is intriguing, the execution falters at times, making it an enjoyable but uneven read.
Logan Rivers is a likable hero—a star hockey player struggling with a slump that threatens both his game and his confidence. His vulnerability and determination to get back on track make him an engaging character, though his development feels somewhat surface-level.
Bella, a former competitive figure skater turned "curse-breaker," is the standout. Her unconventional scheme to pay off her debts by posing as a mystical problem solver is both funny and endearing. Bella’s quick thinking and resilience make her relatable, though the weight of her deception creates a predictable and slightly frustrating source of tension.
The chemistry between Logan and Bella is undeniable, with plenty of playful banter and sweet moments. However, the romance suffers from a lack of depth, as their relationship develops quickly without fully exploring the emotional stakes of their connection. The inevitable reveal of Bella’s secret feels rushed, and the resolution is too tidy to feel entirely satisfying.
The sports backdrop is a fun addition, but it often takes a backseat to the romance. More insight into the world of hockey and Bella’s figure skating past could have enriched the story and added layers to the characters.
Despite its flaws, *The Cutting Edge* is an entertaining read for fans of sports romances and lighthearted love stories. The humor, charm, and unique premise keep the pages turning, even if it doesn’t leave a lasting impression.

This book was fun to read. I really enjoyed the characters, especially Poppy. Logan is one of the characters that makes you want to claim him as your book boyfriend, cute and charming. The writing was great and easy to read. I loved the dual POV and the short chapters. I read this in one day!

It's cute and relatively easy to read.
I've been a big fan of sports romances lately, particularly hockey romance; this is more of a romance where the protagonists happen to have ice-based professions, which doesn't quite hit the mark for what I want in a sports read. This kind of sums up the book as whole for me - had promise, but left me wanting more.
