I really enjoyed that Logan was a single father, and poppy was a burst of joy and such a wonderful character. But, it was hard to get past the debt aspect between Coco and Logan, and the secret between them and the miscommunication. I’m not the biggest fan of the miscommunication trope, and I know that this is my preference, but terms of enjoyment I’m going to have to give this book 3 or 3.5 stars. The beginning was really quick to get into, but the middle was a bit of a struggle because I was scared of what was going to happen when the secret was let out. However, I do love a good hockey player and figure skater romance, and this was fun to read regardless of my preferences. The writing was endearing and edited quite well, and thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me read this book in exchange for a review!!

The Cutting Edge follows Coco Charmont who is a former Olympic Figure Skater and Logan Rivers a star pro Hockey player as they find each other and fall for one another.
I felt as though the characters were all really loveable, but the fact that Logan was always so nice and sweet, and he never gets mad at Coco, really makes it feel like its a man written by a woman and it’s not truly realistic.
Also, I didn’t really enjoy that 60% of the book was in the hospital and we only got one scene where Coco was figure skating even though it’s her passion. So I think they maybe could have expanded a little bit more into that side of Coco.
Overall, I really enjoyed the plot of the novel, the characters as well as the pacing of the story, but would make some small adjustments talked about previously to make this a 5 ⭐️ read.

This is the kind of romance that ought to have illustrated cover. Cute, very sweet, no spice, Interesting insight into both figure skating and hockey, with cute supporting characters.

This was a cute, quick hockey romance read with likeable characters and wonderful banter! I'm always down for a sports romance and even more for a Hockey one! Logan and Poppy were such a cute father/daughter duo! Poppy is so freaking adorable! However, if you are looking for a spicy read this isn't going to be it. The spice was lite but the book was still good! Logan and Coco had great chemistry and between the three of them it was cute!
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

2.5/5
This book was not for me. It was very fast paced and was too much to comprehend for me. It had no structure and I didn't like it.
The ending was better than the whole book and I gave this rating on base of that.

This was just not my cup of tea. It was very rushed, not structured very well, and the weird thing with the ex boyfriend was just surprising and not needed, it was completely too out of nowhere, just didn’t make sense.

I read this book quickly page after page i snapped it up and read consistently. The chemistry between the two gets off to a bad start. But gets better for them which was so good because the funniest line in the book just made me hope they would get better and progress after their meeting. Not everybody meets like that amd thank god that would kinda hurt. Hockey is dangerous but it was so amazing to watch how the characters got along after that. I would love to read this again. I will definitely recommend to others that love hockey romances.

So I have to disclaim I am in the middle of my sports romance era and not growing up around hockey teams, this checks off all the boxes of wishing I was an olympic competitor, had a hockey captain smitten with me and that I could get hired on as a lucky charm. I mean, sign me up! I have to say I also love rom-coms where the guy falls first and is truly smitten (there's not a better description) with the FMC. Logan instantly becomes the good guy you're all rooting for and Coco is truly the sweetest to everyone around her. If you're looking for a feel good read, this one checks lots of rom-com boxes that will leave you with a smile.

OMG this was amazing the banter, the single dad, the skating!!! I think poppy was my favorite character but it’s really hard to decide! This is a figure skater x hockey player romance which is always amazing. Safe to say I really enjoyed the book!

Overall, I thought this was super cute story and had very likable characters in it. While I would definitely classify it as a comedy, I would say it was light on the hockey part. However, the author had me laughing out loud at multiple points.
I hope the errors are because this is an ARC. There were grammatical errors, as well as whole paragraphs repeated. It made it hard to follow the storyline at times.

A friends-to-lovers story, The Cutting Edge by Lisa Daily follows competitive figure skater Coccinelle Charmaine and hockey team captain Logan Rivers.
Normally, I love the figure skater x hockey player cliche, but this novel felt anything but, because although we did get some scenes from hockey games, there were no figure skating scenes, at least not until the very end. Also, the chapters were incredibly short, which made the book feel really fast paced. Speaking of chapters, tell me why only three days had passed over the course of 14 chapters, all of which took place in the hospital, the same with majority of the romance.
The only good parts of the novel that I loved were Poppy and the manner in which Logan showed his feelings for Coco. But in the final 15% of the book, things did start to improve.
Overall, I did enjoy this book’s premise, but the way it was plotted out was not ideal for the tropes or the characters.
*Thank you to Siesta Key, and to the author, Lisa Dailey, for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.*

There has definitely been a drastic increase lately in the pull for hockey romance. This fade-to-black romance written by Lisa Daily was cute. I wasn’t totally absorbed only because it seemed drastically fast paced and a touch disjointed at times to further promote the romance without being explicit about the romance.
Overall, it was a cute novels and I’d recommend it to anyone who likes a more calm romance novel.

I received this book from NetGalley.
Coco seems to be a great character but there are times when her age shows through. I understand that she's upset about the situation but Logan offers to cover her hospital bills and tries to help her out and she's just not interested. She won't even hear him out. She should take him up on the hospital bills at least because he is the reason she's in there. It's not charity if it's his fault.
Logan is a wonderful character and really tries to do what's right. He's had tough cards dealt to him and he's doing his best - and doing it well! However, texting during a hockey game is not acceptable.
It bugs me that Coco doesn't want to speak to Logan but is happy to take his expensive gifts. Then starts to think that maybe he might be a decent guy. But before that she wasn't interested in even speaking to him. She also takes a job where she's earning an outrageous amount of money to be a good luck charm? When she didn't want any help from anyone? Seems a bit unacceptable considering she didn't want to even see Logan. And she's keeping it a secret from him? Nope. It seems weird. She's also fine with a Patreon being set up for her but she doesn't want to be helped by Logan? Again, weird. She's already said she wants to do this by herself but she's going against that just at the drop of a hat. She was fine about lying to Logan and taking money but now that she found out that he set it up she wants nothing to do with him?
Without Logan this book would have been a one star for me. Logan saved it.

Fun read of Olympic skater Coco and hockey star Logan. Getting hit in the head with a puck starts a wonderful romance between two unlikely characters. Fun book and was hard to put down. Would highly recommend.

This book was so super cute! Very light and not too much drama until the end, but that was resolved quickly. I would personally have liked to see more spice, but that’s just me. 3.5 stars overall, many thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read this one!

This was a "read now" on Net Galley and after reading the blurb, I downloaded it. I have never read this author. The premise seemed intriguing.
Coco is a figure skater trying to make her final Olympics and how she offsets her money, is by training future figure skaters. As she is waiting for one of her student's (Poppy) dad to pick her up, it appears the dad was running late. Since Coco knew that Poppy's dad is no other than hockey God Logan Rivers, she decides to go looking for him.
They work out in the same facility. As she finally finds him in the St. Pete's Slasher's practice rink, she gets hit by a flying puck and who happens to accidentally hit her with said puck, you guessed it, Logan Rivers. Poppy's dad.
A lot of this book took place while Coco was in the hospital recuperating from her head injury. Logan feels so terrible. Their flirty banter and chemistry is undeniable.
So while I enjoyed the banter etc., I felt a lot of words or dialogue if you will, was a bit repetitive. Also, although I know it was an ARC, this book was released in June and I downloaded the book this past weekend. The publisher and/or author could have done a better job editing this book. I feel if you are uploading a book to NetGalley, it should be a little better to read. I can understand some grammatical errors here and there, but there was more than that happening. Also the alignment was not working out on my Kindle app.
Overall, the story was cuteish, all that time Coco spent in the hospital could have been cut in half. Logan is a romantic, and Poppy is adorable. I don't know this story flew flat. If you're looking for really spicy steam, which btw title of this book is a bit misleading "A Steamy Hockey" romantic comedy. She got the romance and comedy correct, but there was only one real "steam" scene and it was alright.
It's probably a me and not you situation, but not really my favorite.
An ARC was provided via Net Galley.

Coco is a figure skater. She is working at the ring to finance her training for the next Olympics. One day, the father of one of the kids she is teaching doesn't show up. When she figures out that he is in the same building, she goes looking for him and ends up in a hospital with a puck in her head.
Turn out that the father is famous hockey player Logan Rivers.
They have insane chemistry between them. She is trying very hard not to fall for him, but Logan has no such troubles. :)
It's funny, it's romantic and full of swoon-worthy moments, but for me, there was something missing.
got it on Netgalley

Something about a good Hockey romance, am I right? I loved Coco and Logan’s story. The way these two had a sort of opposite of a meet cute was so unique and great. I love that Coco was Poppy’s teacher, and Poppy brought a whole new level of cute to the story. I would have loved to have had more Poppy!
The development of Coco’s character was pretty well done, but I was wanting for a little more backstory of Logan. I will say I 1000% appreciate that he is written with a strong respect for women, and boundaries.
The supporting characters were also a wonderful and enriching part of the story. This was a fun read and I will definitely be looking forward to Cam and Lana’s story!

If you want a book with a hypocritical, over-dramatic, woe is me
FMC - this is the book for you.
From the constant forced drama to the desperate need of editing, I'm sorry to say I was disappointed in this book. The figure skater x hockey player trope usually has me hooked every single time. But when it's glaringly obvious that the author knows nothing about hockey (texting on the bench in the middle of a game??? i mean seriously??) it's hard to stomach.
Then you have the editing.. Or lack thereof. The neighbors name changed every other paragraph it feels like. Is it Mrs. Markham? Ms. Marham?
Mrs. Marker?? Who knows. Not to mention the randomly changing to third person POV halfway through a paragraph. Random words, sentences, or sometimes whole paragraphs would randomly appear reinserted just a little further down in the book.
I am extremely grateful to netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book. The potential is there and it would be a great outline for another story, but it's just not there in this version.
