2.5 / 5 ⭐️ review posted on Goodreads
please enjoy the following list of what came to mind as I was reading.
- he's always nice and happy and sweet and the only time he ever gets mad he talks like a man written by a woman but in a excessively obvious way
- 60% of the book happens in the hospital, it might as well be a hospital romance but even those don't spend as much time in the actual building
- slow af in 14 chapters you've gone through only 3 days
- coccinelle charmand??? if a real French person was named like this- they wouldn't be
- I hope this is only because it's an ARC but it hasn't been proofread AT ALL. I could barely get into the story because of how bad the mistakes were. the punctuation was a terrible mess of " out of place and I won't even mention the exact same paragraph appearing twice in the span of 2 pages
- not anything standing between them it's just sunshine rainbows and butterflies, it lacks tension. the one thing that causes them some drama feels far-fetched as they're both in the wrong but only one gets mad at the other
- closed doors on first physical scene but later a very detailed smut scene??
- ex bf turns out to be violent conveniently at the end when Logan needs to show a little testosterone and alpha attitude for the first time in the whole story
- so many dialogue I feel like I've heard every word they've ever exchanged in their entire lives
- she's on the ice ONCE in the whole story
- "manly cheeks tinged pink" he's blushing but in a manly manner, I can't stop laughing over this

- Sports romance
- Single dad
- He falls first and harder
- Fun read
- Insta love
Perfect hockey romance. Closed door spice

This one was easy but overall pretty bland. It felt very surface level and insta-love which isn't my thing. I also wasn't sure where the chemistry between the characters came from. The third act breakup was kind of strange. Also, it was targeted as "steamy" but had one short sex scene so I was a little confused. A pretty easy palette cleanser if that's what you need.

It’s a cute rom com. Very easy to read. It’s not spicy and more flirty/banter. The FMC wasn’t my favorite, she seemed immature with her hypocrisy. Also the ending was confusing like I missed something. I had to go back and reread and I still felt like there was part of the story missing.

First thought: An adorable hockey and ice skater romance that is a fun and fast read you won’t want to put down.
Coco placed 4th in the last Olympics and that day she lost everything: her gold, her bff, and her dad paying for her training. But she’s not giving up on her dreams. She is teaching skating lessons, sharing a coach and going into debt to fight for her chance to get back to the next Olympics. What she didn’t plan on is being smacked in the head with a slap shot and waking up in the hospital with a skull fracture and concussion. Needless to say her plans may now be derailed and skating may be off the table and now a dreamy hockey player will have to be her new dream.
Logan is a single dad of Poppy and he is the star and team captain of a professional hockey team. He’s been in a slump and he lost track of time and forget to get his daughter from skating lessons and as he hit a slap shot out walked Coco on the ice. The puck knocked her unconscious and he feels nothing but regret. Little does he know this unfortunate event was the best thing that could have happened to him as it lead to meeting his lucky charm Coco. He falls hard and fast but he has to win her heart and it will take more than his good looks and charm. Plus the huge secret he’s hiding could destroy it all.
This was a super cute book that was told in dual perspective, it made the story more relatable as you saw both sides. If you like cinnamon roll MMC, single dads, hot hockey player, hidden secrets this one is for you!

I liked the cute little cover and it was very promising after reading the description. But unfortunately it didn’t hold up to my expectations in the end . I gave up 50% In because none of the characters hold my attention and some of the scenes made no sense or just felt disjointed to me. That doesn’t mean that it’s not a good story, just not for me at this time.

A 4 star read for me, a great hockey romance book! I have broken down my review below:
⭐️ Overall the book was really fast paced which I liked, it was really sweet and had a lot of tension in which I enjoyed massively. Honestly I read this so quickly as it was entertaining!
⭐️ I really loved Logan’s character, I loved him the whole way through which is a rarity for me! His relationship with his daughter too was lovely (especially surrounding the circumstances).
⭐️ I liked Coco’s character but I feel like sometimes she was a bit harsh on Logan and the argument was dragged out when it didn’t need to be. She was a likeable character though and her life was lovely to read about.
⭐️ The relationship between Logan and Coco was actually really healthy and sweet. It was an entertaining and quick read which I loved! The hockey/figure skater romance is always a winner!

The Cutting Edge is an instalove rom-com

Synopsis: Coco is an Olympic figure skater who teaches a skating class. Poppy, one of the students, ends up stuck at the rink when her father, Logan Rivers, doesn't show up to pick her up. Logan is an NHL hockey player, and Coco walks Poppy to try to find her father. Logan accidentally hits Coco in the head with a puck sending her to the hospital for a week with a fractured skull. Coco strikes a deal with his coach to become his good luck harm in exchange for a paycheck, to pay for training to get back to the Olympics, and her hospital bills to be paid off. Coco has to figure out how to keep it a secret from him and everyone else.
What I liked
- I really enjoyed Poppy in this book, and I thought she was absolutely precious.
- Dual POV
- Quick read since it is less than 250 pages
- I think the book had a nice pacing.
What I didn't like
- I felt that the gifts that Logan gets Coco are excessive for what happened and how long they have known each other, even for an Insta love story.
- The author briefly touches on the character's past, but it would have been nice for her to have gone a little more in-depth.
- I did not particularly care for the 3rd act break up. I felt like it wasn't necessary for this book. If the book was longer and a little more fleshed out it probably could have, but it ended as quickly as it started.
- I also wish we could have gotten to see Poppy learn about their relationship.

What’s this book about?
Logan Rivers is the star hockey player and captain of the St. Pete Slashers. Coco Charmaine is a figure skating teacher who dreams of fulfilling her goal of winning gold at the Winter Olympics after placing 4th last time. They had an unconventional meeting, meaning that Coco woke up in a hospital after taking one of Logan’s 103 mph slap shots to the forehead.
Logan’s always had it bad for his daughter, Poppy’s, figure skating teacher, and these unfortunate circumstances are giving him the perfect opportunity to get to know Coco. As Logan spends more and more time with Coco, he gets his game back on the ice. Is Coco the lucky charm he’s been looking for to bring his team to the Stanley Cup?
Logan’s shooting coach strikes a deal with Coco - act as Logan’s lucky charm for the rest of the season, and her living and training expenses will be covered by the team. As Logan and Coco spend more time together this chemistry continues to grow. But will the truth of their circumstances hit like a slap shot to the face?
My review of Cutting Edge:
Such an easy 4 out of 5-star rating for me! I am a sucker for a good hockey romance, and as a Tampa Bay Lightning fan, it was fun to see another hockey team set within the area in this book!
One of the reasons I loved this book so much was because it was so easy to relate to Coco. She is such a hard worker who has a really hard time relying on anyone but herself for anything. She will singlehandedly bend over backward to help out her friends in whatever way possible, but is reluctant to accept that same kind of support. It was amazing to see her personal growth, and how Logan helped open her open to the possibility of sharing the responsibility with others.
Logan Rivers is falling under one of my favorite book boyfriends. His relationship with his daughter, Poppy, is so swoon-worthy and emotional. I loved how he never questioned how he felt about Coco throughout the whole story, and his support of her and her dreams never wavered. They both have such an amazing support system around them in the form of their teammates, and I loved how easily Logan’s team accepted Coco into the fold as one of their own. Also, I am trying to figure out where I can get a flamingo pink weighted blanket because that is a NEED.
I CANNOT wait to dive into Lana and Cam’s story as they fight their undeniable chemistry.

I enjoyed the first part of this book. I really really wanted to love the rest of it. I love this author's writing style and the humor. Despite my reservations about this one, I will definitely pick up other books by this author.
First, as many other reviewers have mentioned, the medical concussion stuff was all wrong here. Honestly, I can usually give an author a break on this kind of stuff. Fiction and all that.
My biggest problem with this came when Coco agreed to be the lucky charm to keep Logan in the right head space for his games. Nothing wrong with being the lucky charm, but when they are paying her to do it, she is under an NDA not to say anything, then she ends up getting in bed with the guy, ummmmmmm. #PowerDynamics #JustNo
Then the "save" at the end, finding out that it was his idea, ummmmmmmmmmm. #PowerDynamics..
I really believe she would have been into him anyways, but him putting her in that position - what would she have done if he came on to her and she really wasn't? What's your price for your Olympic dream? #HellNO
I really liked their dynamic and their banter at the beginning. This story had SO MUCH potential, but the power dynamics really broke this for me. Sorry.

I was excited to read this book as I love a good hockey romance, but unfortunately this fell flat for me. I had a really hard time making it to the end of the book just because it was so slow. I also feel like quite a lot of the scenes seemed too unrealistic like why was Coco able to do so much with a concussion and why was half of the book spent with her in the hospital. The pacing was off as the miscommunication, conflict, and resolution all occur basically right before the book ends. I didn’t really like their relationship because it felt very one dimensional. They had no initial chemistry and didn’t talk about the things that mattered most when building a relationship. Bringing in her ex boyfriend for those few pages of drama was also an unnecessary plot point. Also, Coco’s overreaction to Logan’s attempt to help her while being mindful of her pride was so frustrating. It’s hard to read miscommunication and care when the problem only existed because she created it for no reason. Then, she’s so quick to forgive him (only a handful of pages later) that it felt extra pointless. Also, not enough actual hockey happens on these pages for it to feel like a true sports romance, I will say the highlight of this book was Logan. He is definitely a cinnamon roll. The thoughtful gifts he got her were sweet and it was nice to see him be a big softie and great dad.

I found this kinda slow at times. Don't get me wrong it was really cute and drama-free, but that's about it really a clean romance book. I honestly just got so mad at the miscommunication trope along the way because I felt everything could have been resolved so much faster! Either way, a nice clean read, thank you for the ARC.

What a cute book! I loved the story and the characters but I just wish the book was longer, I wish Poppy was in it more and I didn’t like the 85% sort of break up!
Sometimes I feel like it’s the same story boy/ girl falls in love, boy/ girl get hurt, break up and get back together! A little cheesy but sweet!

DNF. I got about a third in and it's a no for me. I can see the where Daily was trying to go and the potential is there. The there are portions that are too drawn out with a step by step distribution of how small everyday activities take place. The extent of the research done for this title was other Hockey romance novels.

This book is about an Olympic figure skater Coco (not Bella as the Goodreads description says) and an NHL player Logan. They meet because she is his young daughter, Poppy’s (not mentioned in Goodreads description) skating instructor and when he’s late to pick her up from practice, Coco and Poppy hunt him down at hockey practice where he accidentally sends a slap shot flying at 103 mph straight to the side of Coco’s head. In real life I would have completely expected a hockey puck at that speed to cause a lot more damage and pain than what took place in this book. The majority of this book takes place as Coco is in the hospital and Logan is trying to win her over with countless gifts and so many apologies for the accident. I feel like a lot of things were rushed too much and the character development was a tad lacking because of it.
It touched on a lot of tropes. But maybe it would have been better with less tropes and more time focused on details? I would have loved to have seen five year old Poppy more she was the best character in my opinion. I adored her!
The conflict between Coco and Logan didn’t happen until around the 80-90% mark and it seemed extremely forced. Coco felt so guilty about her part but then the second she found out about Logan’s it was the end of the world. It was resolved way too quickly and easily given the circumstances but I guess with such a short story it somewhat makes sense.
Besides Poppy being my favorite character, the witty banter between Coco and Logan is my favorite. I live for the banter! “Azul, Cocina” the 103mph repeat joke and the references about Jason Statham and Bruce Willis saving lives, not killing people accidentally and owing their lives split up however many ways was my favorite part. It had me laughing out loud literally. The aggressive ex of Coco’s showing up randomly for no reason I could have definitely lived without. I felt that was totally pointless.
All in all I enjoyed this book it’s just not high up on my favorites list and didn’t have me kicking my feet with a smile on my face the whole time like I was expecting.
This was an ARC, so the spelling, duplicate paragraphs, grammar, punctuation and scenes that are repeated but described differently back to back shouldn’t be an issue in the final copy.

This was a great feel-good story! It was such a fun, funny read. I found myself unable to put it down! The dad and daughter love really pulled at my heartstrings and I genuinely loved it so much. I would definitely recommend this book to friends.

this book was cute and corny. i liked logan and coco’s characters. this book was very predictable and had nhl errors that didn’t make sense. i also didn’t like how poppy was only in beginning and then basically forgotten towards the end. i loved poppy. she was so adorable so i wish i could’ve seen more of her. some things just seemed too forced and way too convenient. and i didn’t like the wag interactions. i also think they got together very quickly. it was a fun easy read. i didn’t dislike it enough to not continue the series so i look forward to cam and lanas book!

This was a cute and clean romance between hockey player and a figure skater. I think the book started out pretty strong with how the main characters were introduced; however, it slowed down as they got to know each other, even with the added "lucky charm" conflict. It had the makings of a 4 or 5 star as I normally love hockey romance and the single dad trope, but it fell short. I think Coco spent way to much time in the hospital. I feel like that part of the story took up half of the book. It should have been shorter with the main conflict introduced sooner to peak my interest a bit more.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This romance starts when Olympic figure skater Coco receives a puck to the head from Slasher’s hockey captain Logan Rivers target-missing slap shot. What follows is a story filled with hush-hush hospital visits, remarkable gifts and lucky charms.
Logan is a true Cinnamon Roll hero with a cute daughter, Poppy, who also has a great dynamic with her skating teacher Coco. Logan falls instantly in love with said teacher and goes a bit overboard with the gift giving while she has to stay in the hospital. Not always so realistic but it is a lighthearted rom-com after all.
Logan & Coco’s teasing banter had me grinning and giggling along the way. And lines like “I made that goal just for you” delivered the necessary Oooh moments in this hockey romance.
The e-ARC did have some edit errors with duplicate lines here and there, but I assume this is linked to the fact that this was an advanced copy still undergoing final proofreading.

Thank you netgalley for this book :)
I loved the idea of this book the figure skater and hockey player falling inlove, and I had so many high hopes for the book but sadly it didn’t meet my expectations. Imma start with the good aspects.
I LOVED the way Logan is with poppy he is such a caring father and you can clearly see his love for his daughter and how he would do anything for her. And I would have loved to see more of their relationship because she is such a kind and loving little girl.
The problem was that the book felt immature there were so many punctuation mistakes throughout the books. In addition sentences that made no sense whatsoever , I thought i forgot how to read. but also paragraphs were repeated like full on.
Also you would see a scene from him pov and then the scenes would repeat from her pov but then the events changed like huh? Why even tell me the same thing again. At the start I put it past me and thought maybe she is a first time author, but she isn’t, and these mistakes just ruined the reading experience for me.
And the writting itself was awful, like it was wattpad level at best and because of this I almost DNFed the book. Like please his flirting was impersonating a crab SERIOUSLY.
“Because you're definitely going to need an extra large” this is the line that made me lose my sanity, and I actually felt bile go up my throat.
“I oblige, ripping the foil package and slowly rolling the condom over his massive cock” I digress this is the line that made me lose my sanity
“I felt a deep connection that was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before” omg good tell me more about this connections it’s not like you bring it up EVERYSINGLE CHAPTER, every character has said this so far. But the funny part is I don’t feel a connection because it’s being shoved down my throat rather than shown to me . Like do a little show not tell but no in ever other sentence you bring up their connection.
