**4.5**
okay, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!
I was immediately hooked. I loved the way the book was written and how it didn't stall and take forever to get into the plot.
I freakin' loved Logan and Coco. From their first scene together, I could immediately sense the chemistry. Their banter was absolutely giggle-worthy. I read this book while I was at work, and lemme tell you, it was so hard not to physically laugh out loud and not get caught smiling at my screen like a doof.
Here's a line with absolutely no context because ARGH
"I won’t lie; it’s kind of nice. Yes, she’s unconscious, so that’s not ideal. But still. Nice."
okay, it sounds creepy with no context, but read it, and it'll make sense, I promise.
Now, let me get to why I docked off a half point. The conflict. That was just not it for me.
If I'm being honest, it was barely a conflict. It lasted all of two chapters, maybe. But I mean, I guess it was entertaining to wish I could just yell at these two for being stupid.
I understand where the conflict came from, but it was way too quick; I got whiplash. Maybe if it'd had been like they actually had a conversation about it rather than her just stomping away and making assumptions, I would've liked it more. I don't know. not my favourite part of the book, but still fine.
totally worth it for the rest of the book.
I also wish we got to see more of Coco and her ice skating. I mean I get that she's incapacitated in the book, which is basically the whole premise, but it still would've been nice.
my favourite parts:
-Chapter 34 was the best part of this entire book. LIKE AHHHHHHHHHHH.
-the necklace
-poppy, I wish we saw more of her. she slayed.
-the gifts!! especially the puppies.
- Logan. he was just an absolute golden retriever.
“That one was for you.”
Overall, I loved it. definitely recommend.

This book had a lot of potential but it also had a lot of problems.
My biggest issue is that the heroine gets a concussion and skull fracture and the author clearly did not research these conditions. I've had multiple concussions and there is no way Coco would have been watching a ton of TV and participating in lots of activities in her hospital room. Nor would she have been at an NHL game two weeks after her injury. The whole issue with her injuries resolved way too quickly and easily. I don't know figure skating but I doubt she would have been back to full functioning so soon.
The other issues were little things like repetitive writing (the guy is 6'4", we get it!!) and the other one that drove me nuts was the hockey player texting his girlfriend from the bench during a high stakes game. I've been to a lot of NHL games and I cannot imagine that happening for multiple reasons.
Then we have the fact that both characters are deceiving each other yet Coco seems to feel she's the only one with the right to be upset. That was annoying.
The storyline was cute and I liked the characters, and I especially love a hockey romance but this one was a big miss for me.

2.75 stars rounded up
I am a sucker for hockey romances. I love the sport so i love the hockey romance trope. I also love the cinnamon roll MMC trope, instalove (although obviously not always believable) and the single dad trope. So this one checked my boxes
NHL player and single dad Logan met his daughter's skating coach Coco after accidentally hitting her in the head with one of his slap shots. After spending time with her in the hospital, they both start having feelings for one another. Now, we know that it can never be that simple. After some miscommunications, they do have their HEA.
It was a very solid read. Sweet and swoony. I wanted to see more poppy though. She was so adorable in the beginning and I would have loved to see her relationship with Coco grow
Also as a hockey fan some stuff bothered me and it's simple stuff that could have been fact checked. But that is just me being nitpicky
Thank you to NetGalley, Siesta Key and Lisa Daily for the ARC in exchange for my

This was a cute read. If you are looking to start reading hockey romances this is a good start. It was a warm and fuzzy book. I don't think I would call it steamy as there was really only one spicy part. I read an advance copy and there were a lot of parts that repeated themselves so I hope editing fixed those parts. The single father trope was cute but the nicknames for the daughter were a little annoying. Also, if you looking for "guy falls first" trope this is very much it. Again, this was a cute book for sure.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me access to this arc!
I loved this with everything I. Me! Logan and Coco are adorable and I loved the different setting and how it came about. The single dad trope is by far one of my favourites. I loved everything about this one and so excited for the next!

Was this the best book I’ve ever read? Absolutely not… but it was everything you’d want out of a single dad hockey romance. This was super fun, fast paced and an easy read. It pulled me out of my current slump. I can’t wait to read more from this author

A super satisfying romance. Great characters and a fun and lively story with great dialog. Loved it!

If you’re a hockey romance, insta love fan then you may enjoy this more then I did. Coco and Logan start a romance after Logan gives Coco a concussion with a hockey puck straight to the head. Some of the dialogue and internal monologues seem a bit repetitive, and I would’ve liked to see more of the relationship between Poppy (Logan’s daughter), Logan, and Coco, especially in the second half. It’s definitely a light, easy read, and a decent way to pass a few hours but not on my must-reads list.

This is such a cute and fluffy romance, Logan sends Coco to the hospital after accidentally hitting her in the head with a hockey puck and knocking her out, the chemistry between them is instantly there, lots of laughs, a few misunderstandings but ultimately they fall for each other and finally get their hea

This was a cute, light read overall and I’m always a sucker for hockey player romances, but I noticed several things that really bothered me and took away from my enjoyment. As a huge NHL and ice hockey in general fan, I noticed some inconsistencies, like that a Florida-based team (there are two in the real NHL and both are in the Atlantic division) would start the playoffs against the Philadelphia Flyers (a team in the Metropolitan division). That didn’t make sense to me.
Also, I know this will be corrected in the final version, or maybe it was done on purpose since they’re real people , but Wayne Gretzky and Phil Kessel are both mentioned and both names are spelled wrong. How do you let that slide in a book where hockey is central to the theme?
As for the book itself, it was predictable in many ways, which is what I wanted with a book like this, and I felt like most of the main characters had good substance and depth, especially Logan, Coco, Poppy, and Marissa, but some elements of the story needed improvement.
I didn’t like how Logan’s dating history was covered early on but Coco’s was barely mentioned until the end. I don’t want to spoil anything, but it might have helped build the story more if this was mentioned earlier and not just casually thrown in at the end.
I also felt like some things were just too convenient and not realistic, like the job Coco ends up getting. I know this is fiction, but I felt like there were more realistic ways she could have been tied to the team.
Finally, I didn’t love the interactions with the WAGs. Maybe that’s how it really is, but the way said that another WAG’s “expiration date” or “sell-by date” was coming really irked me. There are much better and more tactful ways of saying that they didn’t think she’d be a permanent addition to their hockey family.
I’m definitely going to give the rest of the series a chance, as I liked some parts of this book and it was a good escape. I’m somewhere around a 2.5 star rating.

One of my top 10 sport romance books! A funny romance story between Coco and Logan. Logan, who shoots a puck straight to Coco's head which sends her to the hospital. Lots of chemistry between these two - would've liked more scenes of spice but all in all a great read. Lovable characters who you root for.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Sparks fly when pro hockey star Logan Rivers accidentally hits Olympic figure Skater, Coco, in the head with a stray puck. Logan hasn't been able to score a goal in 3 games and is starting to worry he is in a slump. Coco has training expenses that she needs paid off and so she strikes a deal with Logan's coach. She will be the hockey stars good luck charm in exchange for her expenses. The team end up on a winning streak but Coco doesn't know how to tell Logan that she has been lying to him since the start of their relationship. If she can just find a way to keep the truth from him until after the play offs she hopes they'll both end up with what they want. Lies, however, have a nasty way of working themselves to the surface.

This was not for me. I didn’t like how every single character referred to woman who sleep with hockey players as “puck bunnies.” The main male character, Logan, was definitely guilty of love bombing Coco after he gives her a skull fracture by hitting her with his slap shot. There’s also a part where a wife of another hockey player says another girlfriend is reaching her “expiration date” as if it’s that woman’s issue and NOT the man who keeps cycling through women.
No thanks. Not for me.

Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for an eARC of this title!
A Hockey Romance? SIGN ME UP! This one was a light, fun & cute read with just a small side of smut.
From the beginning I instantly loved the characters, It was hard not to. Living in Florida myself, about an hour from St Pete, it made me feel like I was right there with the characters… Obviously I think you’ll fall in love with the characters regardless of where you live. Logan’s dynamic with Poppy is just too stinkin cute & the chemistry between Logan and Coco was just too irresistible to not fall for these characters.
I’m excited there will be 2 more books released in this series. Based on the small blurbs it seems as though they will be standalone books but hopefully we will still read an appearance from Logan & Coco. But also excited to follow different story lines & get to know some of the other hunky hockey players too.

"The Cutting Edge" is a cute rom-com that is exactly what it set out to be: a cozy, fireside romance that oscillates between tension and fluff. But that's it.
I enjoyed the fact that Logan is a single parent and is a a good parental figure, involving Poppy... in the first half of the book. After that I felt like she was forgotten about. Poppy's character was wonderful but I wish she had more depth and involvement in the story: right now, her impact on the story is minor.
I also liked the sections about Coco's backstory, especially as a follower of competitive figure skating myself. Hockey, not as much, but it was still fun.
I must admit, I found myself losing focus during several of the long chunks of banter in this book. The characters make niche references and jokes that don't really make sense to everyone. And the miscommunication for no reason at all gets annoying after a while.
Also, I have always found it disconcerting when real people are included in fictional books. Vera Wang? Seriously?
However, for a lighthearted book to pass a couple hours? It's decent. Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Final rating: 3/5

... I kinda feel bad about this rating lmao
If you're a fan of cheesy, slightly over-the-top, corny reads, this is for you. From some of the jokes/humor to the insane amount of gifts that Logan showered her with - there were several PAGES dedicated to each and every gift he gave, not including flowers and food - and a very simple plotline, there wasn't much that called to me personally.
Add in the insta-love and the child who was not mentioned in the premise and disappears once she had successfully introduced the two leads, and the best part about the book was their banter and its speed.
This was an advanced copy, so there were several issues I found with spelling/grammar/duplicated paragraphs, but those should not be included in the final draft. And the premise on GoodReads somewhat covers the story? But it skips over the entire reason the two meet (his child and giving her a concussion) and she doesn't strike the deal with the coach for a while into the story, so she hasn't been lying to Logan the entire time.
The conflict between the two was a little forced to me and then resolved way too quickly for how blown up Coco (that's the lead, not Bella) made the whole thing, and I'm still on the fence about the whole "curse-breaking" deal in the first place because the coach never said she couldn't tell Logan - he said she couldn't tell everyone but Logan probably wouldn't mind her reasons - and she felt horrible for lying but she still told her best friend? If I feel that guilty over something, I'd probably tell the person I've wronged instead of my best friend, if I had to choose. (I'd probably tell both, tbh)
Most of the book's contents weren't for me. But if any of this sounds interesting to you, I recommend you check it out.
thank you Netgalley for the free copy

Whenever I see a hockey romance, I know I need to read it! This book was cute. It was giving instant love, star NHL hockey player and a olympic figure skater fall in love. I felt the second half of the book didn't live up to the first half. I loved the story at the beginning, the incident, the connection between Poppy, Coco and Logan. But the second half felt a little rushed. When Coco's ex just randomly came into the second half of the book after only being mentioned twice before in passing, his out of left field aggression?? It felt off. The miscommunication was not it for me. They both started the relationship off of lies, lying to each other is never a good way to start a relationship.
Overall, I'd never say no to a hockey romance but this one fell a little flat. It was still a cute read but not one of my favourites.

The Cutting Edge by Lisa Daily was the perfect steamy sports rom-com!
This was such a cute story. I thought this was very well done and the story drew me in from the very beginning. I enjoyed the drama and the sweet romance.
The writing flowed great and Daily kept my attention throughout.
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Thank You NetGalley and Siesta Key for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

This super light and fluffy romance is hiding an insightful commentary on the way that professional sportspeople are paid, how much they are paid and essentially how random this is. On the surface Logan, a hockey player, falls for Coco, an Olympic ice skater, after giving her a concussion by hitting her with a hockey puck. This rather cute (and trope-free) meeting sets them up for sparkle and banter and lots of chemistry..
Lisa Daily obviously had a ball choosing the gifts that a cashed-up and very guilty Logan could send to Coco and they are just fabulous! Hot tips for non-book boyfriends everywhere!
The necessary tension comes from a miscommunication but the core issue in the book is how Coco is so broke, hustling for every dollar, having inadequate family support, little effective health insurance and a struggle for every costume, every training session, every service. Logan, who is a single dad, is able to throw money at all his problems, and has team support, a nanny, an assistant, delivered meals to his beautiful home. There's lots of hockey and nicknames, not much steam, and unfortunately a lot of repetition of internal dialogue.
It's a fun easy read, with smartly observed social observation :)
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an ARC.

An Olympic figure skater and a famous NHL player — could have been super cute! I’m a sucker for a good hockey rom com. Unfortunately, this was not it. I stopped reading about 30% through the book. The characters have potential, but the writing and development is pretty dreadful. The book is very long and detailed in sections it doesn’t need to be and underdeveloped and lacking in parts it needs to be longer. There were also a few instances where sentences were repeated and I had to make sure I wasn’t rereading the same page. I wanted to like it and appreciated the opportunity to give it a try, but this one was not for me!
