I read this one a few months back and somehow I forgot to write a review!

I really loved this one, it was the perfect winter read as I cozied up next to the fire. I loved how the FMC branched out of her confront zone and the growth and opportunities that came with it! This book definitely had me wanting to hit the kitchen to cook and bake.

Overall this book was amazing and gave you that perfect hallmark vibe. It was one I bought a physical copy of to add to my shelf to revisit next winter.

This is such an accomplished debut novel, with some entertaining characters and a glorious setting in the Swiss Alps. I enjoyed all the small details about life in the ski village as the snowy slopes sparkled in the sun. Holly has found herself working there after a traumatic heartbreak and she is determined to try to give herself some space to heal. There are plenty of laughs to be raised as Holly tries to take part in the Winter Sports on offer as well as her attempts to settle into the lodge.

This is a gentle, slow burn romance which is an entertaining read. The festive touches add to its appeal and all the delicious sounding food and drink certainly add to the atmosphere. Holly has some thinking to do as regards her future but she slowly finds some courage and self belief despite a few shaky decisions.

In short: let it snow!

This was a lovely and enjoyable, light read. I thought it read really well for a debut and if I hadn’t been informed then I wouldn’t have known it. This is one of those books that once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. It is a quick read, but that doesn’t take away the enjoyment from it.

I thought most the characters were really likeable, obviously in a book, you’re always going to have characters that annoy you, or you’re not as keen on, in this you will find characters you love and some that you dislike intensely in my case, but that’s the fun of reading.

I love the descriptions in this book, they me really want to go somewhere snowy and given the amount of snow we get in Britain or where I am anyway, the complete lack of it, the idea of being somewhere snowy is just lovely to me, but then I I love the cold and being snuggled, unlike Holly. There are also wonderful descriptions of food, warning to anyone reading this, bring snacks you are going to need them.

Overall, I found this to be a really enjoyable rom-com, nice seasonal reading, something to cuddle up in front of a fireplace since we can’t be in Switzerland

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Holly Roberts hates the cold and it’s no secret. However, after experiencing heartbreak she still takes an opportunity to work as a sous-chef in the Swiss Alps.

Overall, the story is cute. There was not quite enough plot, character depth, or high stakes for me.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ebook arc.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒅𝒆𝒃𝒖𝒕….

I have devoured this book in just one sitting. This is just the perfect winter read.

Set in a ski resort, I have been transported by this one. This is brilliant. Holly has been jilted at the alter and is looking for a change. I loved her. Holly also is known for hating winter and decides a ski resort is the place to be.

The descriptions of delicious foods and wines has had my mouth watering. I felt like I have been lifted and placed within the chalet.

This is a book that is amusing, funny and enjoyable. It’s been a wonderful read that I have adored. The best way to describe this debut is perfection in book form.

There is nothing negative I can say about this gem, it is brilliant from beginning to end. Written in a way that just draws you in and makes everything seem familiar. This book has converted me as a fan of this author.

I can’t wait to read more

This was such a quick and easy read! First of all, the cover is amazing - but I was immediately drawn into the story and could not put this down!

Readers experience love, laughter, and adventure against the stunning backdrop of the mountains. I found Escape to the Swiss Chalet by Carrie Walker to be a delightful romantic comedy that transported me from the familiar comfort of home to the breathtaking beauty the mountains provide. I used to live in a mountain valley, and just loved going back.

Meet Holly Roberts. She’s known among family and friends for her aversion to cold weather. So it surprises everyone when she agrees to pack her bags and move to the Swiss Alps. After experiencing heartbreak, Holly spends the winter season working as a sous-chef for wealthy twins. And one is pretty darn handsome. As Holly seeks to escape her problems, could she find her Happily Ever After in the Swiss Alps?

This cannot be a debut novel, but turns out it is! This read is a total sweet and funny romance, perfect for those of us who enjoy a picturesque setting and charming characters. This story was an enchanting escape and I totally reached for my cozy blanket while imagining the snow-capped peaks.

Thank you to NetGalley and Aria & Aries for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A pefect winter romcom read. Similar to Eat Pray Love- sometimes running away from your probelms and moving across the world is closer to running into all the answers.

This was a super fun new beginning novel! It was so romantic and I loved the setting. The food was also fun to read about.

Aww, this was cute! I liked the idea of escaping from your life that isn't going so well and taking a vacation (but now that I've read Gone Girl, I can only think of doing that Amy Dunne style). Nevertheless, this book felt so cute and sweet, like cotton candy. I really enjoyed it and I think it's the perfect winter read!

Holly is left at the alter on her wedding day, so when a chance to take a six month job at a ski resort in Switzerland opens up she jumps at the chance. Learning to ski, improve her wine and cooking skills, plus having several men around her helps to see life in a new way. Fun read and one I highly recommend.

This winter romcom was absolutely adorable. I loved the characters and their relationship dynamics. The setting was absolutely dreamy. I can’t wait to read more from this author in the future.

Omg. I so felt for Holly!
When first we meet, she's in prep mode for her upcoming wedding in a few weeks, and the person that says combining two lives into one household isn't work, has never been through it or helped someone else through it...but I digress. That work is going to a HEA end goal, so of course it's worth it... but what if it doesn't? What if the person that was the man of your dreams all of a sudden calls it quits? Let me set the scene a little better...*ahem*... he decides to share of all this ON YOUR WEDDING DAY. Yeah. Anyone else's jaw drop, or maybe you're getting the pitchforks ready to storm the proverbial castle? As well as she takes it, and it's not pretty, I think I'd be way worse... just not certain in what direction 😅. Anyway...

I applaud Holly's plan to regroup, even if it wasn't truly her own idea. I deny the use of common sense when she still kept a shred of hope it'd all turn around, or that keeping in touch in any fashion was the way to go. I grimaced when Luca was working his charm on her because honestly, I just wanted to slug him for being a two face jerk... one moment ALL THE ATTENTION, the next TOTAL DISAPPEARING ACT. There's more to share there, but I'll let you snuffle it out. I laughed at Liv's antics and instant friendship status, and wanted more between Xavier and Holly before there was ever a moment for it to happen.

By book's end, though Holly may not have the best instincts when it comes to guys, she may have just found her best match, once upon THIS time.

Escape to Swiss Chalet is a fun read for the cold winter months. Fleeing heartbreak, Holly Roberts ends up at the last place anyone would expect to find her: the Swiss Alps. It is here where she rediscovers who she is and that premise alone would have been enough, especially in conjunction with the stunning cover. The hitch I had came with the male characters. Does Verbier not house a single decent male? The com was great, the rom could have been left out.

Escape to the Swiss Chalet creates the perfect winter wonderland that you dream of. Verbier, which is a place dear to my heart, is the setting for this story. Unfortunately, the setting may be my favorite part of this whole book. I can't decide how much I liked the characters, or the main story line. But Carrie Walker for sure has a way of describing scenery.

A fun romantic read for the holiday season. Lots of different characters with different needs and problem, but all meshed togther in a great story.. We learn more about the characters as the story progresses and are willing them on. The descriptions of the food, the enviroment and the snowbaording and skiing make you feel as if you are really there.

2.5 Stars Rounded Down

There was a lot of potential for this book. The scenery was beautiful and well written. Sadly, the winter wonderland background was the only thing I enjoyed about this book.

Holly is a woman in her late 20’s who is unfortunately left at the altar right before she is supposed to walk down the aisle. She is blindsided by this change in her life (totally understandable), but then goes on a pity spiral for 2 months. During this pity party she doesn’t go to work or communicate with anyone unless they come to her bed at her parent’s house. Her old boss randomly recommends her for a spot as staff at a chalet in the Swiss Alps working for a rich family during ski season. A trip and experience of a lifetime that is all expenses paid. Sounds like the perfect way to recover from heartache and to rediscover herself. It should have been perfect. Instead Holly spends the whole time not understanding that she is working for the family and continues to be upset that they don’t see her as a friend or possible girlfriend. There were a lot of hard cringe moments that made me put the book down for a while. The ending felt very rushed and abrupt with several main plot points changing and then boom last page.

Heartbroken after her almost wedding, Holly moved to Switzerland for a new beginning! While I did enjoy reading about Holly and her new adventure, I was not a fan of the love interest Luca. In my opinion I didn’t find him to be a great MMC. Although it was short, it was a slow read for me as I didn’t find it holding my attention very well. I would still recommend as I could definitely see others liking it due to her writing style!

** thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC and chance to read and review

I love the title and the cover. I was excited for this fun and cute holiday romance. Right from the start the characters came off as not connected. I personally couldn't get into the story and I was hoping for more romance right from the beginning. This book just wasn't for me and that's okay. I hope others continue to like it and congratulations to the author for making this a debut book. Thank you to netgalley, the author, and the publisher for allowing me to get an advanced copy of this book.
