I thought that this was just going to be one of those pleasant romantic books when it went up a notch and changed direction. I read it in one sitting waiting to see what would transpire. All in all a lovely story

I went into this book expecting a beach read and instead was pleasantly surprised! The suspense was well managed throughout the book, the pacing kept up with my growing interest. I devoured the final 100 pages in one sitting, I couldn't put it down.

Ryan may seem too good to be true, but isn't that half the fun? Andi is a relatable character whose logic and courage see her through some pretty tough situations. I was left guessing all the way until the end, my own theories were completely wrong, which kept me hooked.

Well written with an easy-going narrative, Luker's style draws you in and offers you a cozy cup of tea. Great read, and highly recommend.

When trauma surgeon Andi Taylor leaves her job at the Mayo Clinic for a Texas hospital, she knows that things are likely to be different. As a cardio and vascular specialist, her work demands nearly all of her attention. And she's fine with that. She has no time for a relationship that will go south after one or two dates because guys just can't understand that her job comes before any relationship. That's just the way it is. But then she meets Ryan. Will he be the one to bring her out of her emotional shell? The move to Texas also means leaving behind that former patient who had become something of a pesky stalker, showing up nearly everywhere she was. Or does it?

I finished this wonderful book in one long lazy summer day and loved every page of it Five stars!

Thank you Net Galley for the ARC. .

This is an engaging romantic suspense. I enjoyed getting to know the couple. Even though Ryan seems too good to be true, he is quite appealing. Some exciting moments to keep one turning the pages. I appreciated the lack of intimate details. I am eager to read more by this author. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Ryan is a kind of Gatsby-esque character (complete with West Egg mansion) and his romancing of surgeon Andi comes across as lovebombing. Stretch limo, really?

The early parts the book feel like a bunch of set pieces - the hockey, the horse riding, the home help, the fundraiser and so on which start the romance, with in-between indications of the brewing mystery.

One challenge with this genre is having plot points that are understandable to the reader, but still realistically possible and this is done quite well with Ryan’s technology.

Ryan is gorgeous, he just doesn’t feel very real. Andi has all the angst between her ambition and her biological clock/well-meaning friends. Without any spoilers, I loved that Andi’s clear head and bravery stick with her to the end.

An easy and breezy suspenseful romance.

Thank you NetGalley, and the author for the ARC.

Oof. I have complicated feelings about this one. I struggled with reading The Right One - for a few reasons.

I found the writing to be a bit wooden - it skewed towards more tell, not show, which I found an odd decision, particularly for a romance/mystery. There was nothing I had to figure out which I enjoy with mystery books.

The dialogue also lacked context - it was written as X says this, X says that, without any context about HOW they say it. We relied on the characters telling us how they were feeling through their communication, rather than listening to their feelings through their actions.

I could see where Andi was coming from with her reluctance to connect with Ryan but her initial interactions made it difficult for me to like her. I did enjoy that Ryan knew that Andi was his person but did find some of his decisions were difficult to understand.

Overall an easy story that I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to read/review this title! I am so excited to share Taylor and Ryan’s story with our readers. I have really been getting into books lately since an interest in Greys Anatomy and I love reading about such a life changing and challenging field. I’m also excite$ for the readers to read abt the twist Taylor ps story contains as I think it will really keep readers in suspense! I also love how Ryan knows she is the girl for him no matter what he encounters!
