TJ Klune is definitely one of my favorite authors.
Reading the previous books in the Green Creek series, Robbie became one of my favorite characters. This book just made him more of a favorite character.
Such a rollercoaster of emotions in this book but they're all worth it.
I love that we got to see more into Robbie and Kelly in this one and the rest of the pack.

As a huge fan of this series and TJ Klune, HEARTSONG did not disappoint. Through storytelling, lyrical writing, and character growth, I found this book to be a wonderful addition to an already wonderful series.
What I love about this series is that each book focuses on the central story, but how each character plays a role in that story. Though similar themes throughout such as a search for identity, found family, and what it means to be a part of a whole, the way the author approaches these idea are always interesting and varied. This book changes up those ideas, through a pretty surprising twist that had be literally gasping out loud. Those ideas are there, but told in a way that makes this story unique and thoughtful.
Seeing the growth of Robbie and Kelly and the Bennett pack as a whole, intermixed with the lyrical prose made this book as beautiful as the others.
The only thing that bothered me just a bit is that I think the book was a BIT too long. I think there was so unnecessary repetition, but story wise, I can understand why it’s there. It didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book however.
Overall, I really loved this book. I definitely think this series is a must read, especially if you love Klune’s precious books, found family vibes, LGBTQIA+ representation, and werewolves! Just make sure you read the other books in this series first or you won’t understand the story!
Thank you to Tor Books and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Ok, so, I didn’t know that this was part of a series when I requested it. I just adore TJ Klune and was drawn in by his name alone. I will say that I was a bit lost (as I haven’t read the other books in the series) but that didn’t take away from the storyline at all! This was not a typical love story, and I’m here for it! I’m excited to read the rest of the series.
I don’t really know how to review this book. TJ always hits the ball out of the park and this was no exception. All the feelings are felt! The love, the sadness, the angst, the fear! Fellow TJ Kline lovers: read this! You have to experience this book to understand it, to fall in love with it, to have it resonate with you! Just go, get this book now.
Thank you to NetGalley and TJ Klune for an advanced copy of this book. This is my review and I am leaving it voluntarily.

Heartsong, book three in T.J. Klune’s Green Creek series, tells the story of Robbie Fontaine, a lone werewolf who longs for a pack and home ever since the death of his mother when he was a child. He bounces from pack to pack, forming temporary bonds that keep home from becoming an omega and turning feral. He finds a home with witch Ezra and Alpha of All, Michelle Hughes. On a task for Michelle, Robbie’s world is tilted on its axis when he discovers and omega child who is not feral. The child is an omega thanks to a powerful witch’s spell. After Robbie returns home to his pack, things are weird and his is missing several days in his memory. His investigation leads him to the Bennett pack, a pack of wolves who are trying to overthrow the Alpha of All and claim it for themselves. Things get weirder for Robbie when the Bennett pack claims he is one of them, a part of their family. Complicating matters is Kelly Bennett, who seems to be Robbie’s mate even though Robbie could swear he’s never seen Kelly before. Robbie wrestles with the fact that the family he knows is not his true family and navigating life with the Bennett pack who clearly know and love him even though he can’t remember them at all.
“…I wondered how this could be real. Here. Now. This moment. How I ever could have forgotten this. Forgotten him. It had to have been the strongest magic the world had ever known. That was the only way I’d have ever left his side.”
Kelly and Robbie have floated around the edges of a relationship in the previous books so diving in and discovering their love story along with Robbie was bittersweet. I loved seeing them fall in love again but was sad that it was taken away from them by Michelle and Robert Livingstone. The themes of family and betrayal are strongest in this book. The Bennett pack is the most obvious example of a family. They love each other and do everything they can to support Kelly and Robbie after Robbie has lost his memories but like families in real life, they made a mistake in not immediately going after Robbie and leaving him with Michelle and Ezra/Robert for over a year. The pain and betrayal Robbie felt with the Bennett pack was just as strong as the pain and betrayal he felt with the family he could remember with the pack in Maine. The town of Green Creek has also become a family in a way. They have banded together and support each other through the events of the book.
I personally love all of the Green Creek series but Heartsong is a particular favorite. The theme of family throughout the series is at the forefront of Robbie’s story. Heartsong really delved into what it means to be a family, all of the ups and downs and the work that goes into maintaining those relationships especially when things go wrong.

While I've given all of these 4 stars so far, this one would be my least favorite if I had to rank them. I did have to sit down whilst at work to cry. Tears started during chapter TWO. I don't understand how Klune does it...makes something soooooo wholesome, but simultaneously heartbreaking. I've never experienced anything like it.

The third book in the Green Creek series, and the third time I've gotten to read and review and ARC of it, Heartsong is just as good as the first two books in the series.
Following Robbie Fontaine and Kelly Bennett, at first, the book did not win me over. The book starts off a little confusing. I thought I was reading a flashback. However, after a couple of chapters, I caught on with what Klune was doing, and I was hooked. How else could I finish a nearly five hundred page book in a day? Well, a snow day helps, but also the compelling plot, the rooting for the success of the Bennett Pack.
As always, Klune's language is beautiful, and like the previous books, this is full of angst. However, it is a romance, so you can expect a happily ever after in the end. You'll simply have to ride the waves and shed some tears along the way.
The last chapter of the book sets up the final book in the series beautifully, and I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
While you may be tempted to read this book based on this glowing review, it is book three in a series, and you will not really understand what exactly is happening if you jump in right here. I suggest you start with the first book, Wolfsong, and go from there. But do read these books. They're wonderful.

I'm a big fan of TJ Klune's work and when I requested this book on NetGalley, I was super excited to begin right away, until I realized it was book 3, oops! I will definitely plan to read the first two books of the series and then re-read this book in the future.
Nonetheless, this story is remarkable, the characters were lovable, and it didn't impact how much I enjoyed this book overall. I nearly cried, laughed, and adored this book and characters to pieces. I'm typically not a fantasy reader, but this book held me as I enjoyed the mystery of Robbie's story and the action-packed battle scences! I can't wait for my physical copy to arrive, and will definitely add them to my collection. The art is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much NetGalley for this e-ARC, Tor Publishing, Tor Books, and TJ Klune.

Heartsong is #3 in the Green Creek Series. It is meant to be read in order, including three short stories that exist between Ravensong and Heartsong as well as Heartsong and Brothersong. As these books each add to the story as well as move it along, it may be confusing to read them out of order. I believe you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't read the books in their intended order.
Heartsong follows Robby and his relationship to the Bennett pack of Green Creek. The beginning is disorienting; and it's supposed to be. It doesn't last; however the sadness that replaces it is quite gut wrenching.
TJ Klune is a brilliant storyteller. These are books that creep their way into my thoughts, days, weeks, months after reading them.
I would recommend the Greek Creek series, and Heartsong as well, to any werewolf/shifter (fantasy/romance) reader. I believe this series is paramount in (re)defining the genre.

I made the mistake of thinking I could read this before reading the other two books in this realm and series. I was under the assumption they could be read as stand alones, but that is not the case. Although I loved the characters and the plot, I felt lost in some areas. This is completely my fault and so definitely read the first two before diving in and you’ll adore the book. I will be going back to read Wolfsong and Ravensong to tie it all together. Overall, I recommend this series altogether and Klune’s writing overall. Thank you to NetGalley for the arc!

TJ Klune stands as one of my favorite authors! When my request to review this book was accepted, I couldn't believe my luck. Excitement overwhelmed me, and I even danced in joy!
TJ Klune not only met but exceeded my expectations with this book & series, crafting an incredible and vivid world. "Heartsong" proved impossible to set aside once I began reading – real life took a back seat. Klune's words held me captive, infusing meaning into every sentence, weaving a compelling tale of a lost wolf finding his way home.
A heartfelt thank you! Kudos to Netgalley and Tor Publishing Group.

My thanks to NetGalley for making an eARC of this book available to me.
This book could be for you if you enjoy books about gay werewolves who create a community with witches and humans and are in open revolt against the established powers. Go for it.
This one barely eked out that fourth star for me, but that was probably influenced by this being the third book in the series which I read before reading any of the other books. Lots of backstory descriptions that probably are referring to the previous two books, which I will probably need to go back and read at some point. There is also a fourth book in the series, that is very much set up by the events at the end of this book.

Can we just give this pack a little bit of happiness? 😭
I love Kelly & Robbie with my whole entire heart 🥺🥰
This series has given me the biggest serotonin boost while having me sobbing my eyes out and Heartsong is the most heartbreaking of them all!
As someone that’s asexual, having rep like Kelly’s makes me so happy!
Just loved this book so so much!!

TJ Klune can do no wrong! This was an emotional rollercoaster that has son much heart which is what we come to expect from Klune writing. It was slower pace than the ones previous but it’s worth the read. The Bennett pack is so special and I can’t wait for more.

This series is something so incredibly special, that it’s daunting thinking that I need to write a review for it.
This book had me feeling so many emotions I didn’t know I could feel. TJ Klune absolutely obliterated my heart and managed to put it back together. TJ is a master at emotional manipulation (in a fantastic way) through his writing and I can’t fathom the fact that I felt everything that I felt.
This book was incredible in every single aspect possible and TJ Klune has officially become an auto-buy author for me. The writing is stunning and so lyrical… I don’t know how he does it honestly. I absolutely loved this story and will be reaching for many of his books going forward.
*Thank you Tor Publishing Group and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

Love every second of it, great third book. The story conflics where well done and the characters totally relatable. Enjoy Kelly and Robbie relationship immensely. Thanks for letting me read this amazing book

I think it’s official. I think this might be my favourite of the bunch (so far!). And while I admitted to downgrading book one from a full five to a four and a half.. this one goes the other way. My original GR rating was four but I’m rounding right up to top marks.
Memories are funny things. I carried them like scars.
Overall this story is the one with the most surprises, in all manner of speaking, and it’s also the most.. tender. It’s both quieter but also more devastating. Which won’t make sense when you get to the big showdown, as it’s anything but quiet, but it makes an interesting contrast.
“I swear to god, witches and wolves are the most dramatic bitches I’ve ever known in my life. Like for once can we just have a norma day without stupid shit happening?“
I also just feel like Klune really hit his stride with this book. Sure, he’s gearing up to the end, he’s laying out some cards, but by now we’re so in love with these characters, this world, and he’s still treating them with care as opposed to tossing them around into positions he needs them to be in for everything to make sense. You know what I mean? Maybe not. But it’s there anyway. It could also be because he did something very different with this one, both in the telling and with the couple, and I absolutely love a break in formula.
“Instagram. You want me to look at your Instagram.“
“Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever heard so much disdain in such few words.”
There may have been a few less laugh out louds than there were in book two (though there was one rather casual exchange that had me, no pun intended, howling) but I think this is the one that made me cry the most. And for me that’s an upside.
Last time I read these books there was only one novella/short post-book three. This time there are two. I’m preparing for more tears because I cried my way through 2.5. And oh yeah, hey, if you didn’t know.. Klune has these extras available for free on his site. Definitely go check them out. That said, next time we talk (aka I talk at you, reader) I’ll have read BROTHERSONG. Eep.

Thanks to Tor Publishing Group and TJ Klune for this ARC of the third Green Creek novel.
I read this book without having read the first two novels but it didn't hit hinder my experience.
Klune has a way with words, specifically dialogue. I greatly enjoyed this novel about love, family, perseverance and forgiveness. It was a great read. I'd recommend this series to any adult.

This book was another amazing installment in this series. I loved learning more about Kelly and Robbie. And the way it starts, it makes you really wonder what's going on and it allows you to discover things as it's happening. Also, learning more about Kelly is amazing, as he's been kind of left in the background so far. I love the development of Carter and learning more about the timber wolf. Also, it's filled with hilarious moments and heartfelt moments in equal measures. Truly such a joy to read. TJ Klune is a master and we're all so lucky he chooses to write books so that we can live in his worlds and experience the happiness in them.

I am a fan of the author’s work. And that is said with my ‘occasional fantasy reader’ badge of honour. So when I requested this on NetGalley I only saw his name and had to get it… then realizing that it was book 3 of the series.
Doh.
You would think I went and bought book 1 and 2, right ?! Umm I didn’t. I thought I’ll just give it a try and if I’m confused then I’ll download the first two. And you know what, I had no issue following along. That said, I’m sure the other books lend to the full Bennett family storyline but Robbie told his story just fine for this series newbie.
The first 30% I was totally picturing Twilight the movie. Exactly how they looked when Jacob and his pack entered the scene. But then somehow my imagination left that pack behind and enjoyed the witches and wolves connections on the page.. well enjoying the suspense of the mystery of who Robbie was.
It’s a love story. It’s a family story. It’s definitely a fantasy story. But somehow TJ Klune’s writing makes it flow enough to want to keep reading. It’s seamless writing if that makes sense.: or maybe approachable writing into the fantasy world makes better sense.
I will say the one thing I don’t love in his recent books (separate from always enjoying the novels), is the sex pieces. This book it was needed at the end but I mean the random sentences that said something about penis or masturbation. That’s just my own preference.. it always feels like it’s just a random sentence in an otherwise good chapter.
Anywho, that’s my two cents.
And yes, I still enjoyed this one a lot. So I guess I need to find the other books 😉

This book even in the third act still pulled me in. I care about the characters and want to know what will happen with them. Robbie, ox, and kelly i especially wanted to see what would happen. It was ups and downs for the first I would say half of the book with what Robbie kept having to grabble with and the reader has to go through it also figuring it out. I did get a little frustrated with how long that figuring out was taking and got a little confused for a bit. I wanted it to move a little faster at times. I loved the atmoshere. I could picture the settings. I wanted so much for everyone to jump clam down cause I loved parts about all the packs. The scene with the little wolves playing and loving on Robbie early on in the book was so amazingly sweet. I also loved visioning the cool colored eyes of the wolves. I have liked all of TJ klunes books so far some of them touching me more than others but none have let me down.
