My three and eight year old loved this!

The Dictionary of Dinosaurs is the perfect book for dinosaur nerds. The book has the names and main details of each dinosaur. The pictures are very pretty. I love that they have an image comparing the size of each dinosaur to that of a man. It helps to have an idea of their actual size. I'm sure any child who is interested in dinosaurs would enjoy this book.

Great guide for the young dinosaur enthusiast. Interesting information, good pictures, and helpful facts. Great addition to any classroom.

Amazing resource! Drawn to a style that is still amusing to kids, without being too baby-ish. We are teach geological processes right now, so it has been an excellent reference for myself as well. There are a ton of great facts too.

This would be an awesome book for classroom, school, and public libraries that serve elementary kiddos. If your student or child is interested in dinosaurs, I think they would love it. It does go into a lot of detail and has a ton of words so it was beyond what I wanted to read for my 5-year-old. With that said, I think older children who are into dinosaurs would love it and if we had a physical copy I think my son would love looking at the pictures and learning the names of every dinosaur. It definitely gives you a deep dive with amazing pictures to go with it. This would be great as a gift for an older child especially with a dinosaur toy or model or tickets to a museum to see dinosaurs.

Even though this book has 'dictionary' in the title, I was expecting more of an encyclopedia, but this really is a dictionary. Most of each page is taken up by simplified cartoon images of the dinosaurs with very little of the page devoted to text. There are between 2 and 4 dinosaurs listed per two page spread: some get a small paragraph of text along with a few facts, some don't even get that. Only the ones with text paragraphs get images. It can also be difficult to tell which dinosaur the image goes to.

I do like that the ones with images also include size reference compared to humans and that the names have pronunciation guides. I also like that there are many dinosuars included that I had never heard of before and never seen included in the dinosaur encyclopedias I have read with my kiddo.

This is definitely worth getting if you have a dinosaur-obsessed kiddo, but I would get other dinosaur encyclopedias to expand on the facts included here.

A book for my dino lovers and for me! Not only were the illustrations wonderful, it's packed with dinosaurs information, and is well arranged... it also tells me how to pronounce the dinosaur names which is a must as a parent. This is a must read if you love dinosaurs.

This book would be perfect for young dinosaur lovers. Like a real dictionary, everything is in ABC order. The illustrations are beautiful and it is very well organized. Many of these dinosaurs I had never heard of.

I absolutely adore this book! whether you are a kid, teen, or adult this is a great book to learn about dinosaurs. They not only include dinosaurs we have detailed information about, but even the ones that are very unknown and don’t have much details. I truly enjoyed my time with this book and I highly recommend it for anyone who has even an inkling of interest in those creatures from long ago

Must have book for all the dinosaurs lovers out there!!!
It covers many MANY dinosaurs from A to Z (this reader just found out dinosaurs start with X or Q)
The artsyle is amazing. I love the colour combination. I love the infographic. It's easily understandable. It gave us a compact information what we need to know along with the size illustration. Love it

If you have a child interested at all in dinosaurs, this would be a perfect book for them. The art in this book is fantastic, the information is easy to read and understand, there is a great pronunciation guide to help with the names, as well as a little diagram to show you their size in comparison to humans. I loved this, and I know that when I was in the range for this book I would have been all over it.

I would say the target age for this book would not be much younger than 5-6, while not much older than 12-13. For younger children this would be a great book to sit with your child and read to them about whatever dinosaurs they're interested in. For an older child I would advise this as a kind of gift for them to be able to do their own dinosaur research. This would be a great book to go along with any typical "dinosaur" toys, so they can paly with that toy but also look it up and learn more information about the real life animal, as well.

The art of the dinosaurs and the background images in this book is beautiful, and is somehow simultaneously realistic while also simple It really allows you to imagine how they would have looked and lived in real life, while also not being so "realistic" to be boring to look at. This would be a fun book to simply flip through and occasionally stop on a page to read more, rather than simply reading from beginning to end.

I would absolutely purchase this for my child, or a child in my family who loves dinosaurs, as this book would be a great way to nurture that interest. This book is interesting, pretty, and informative enough that I also think it would be a good way to start an interest in dinosaurs for any child.

A beautifully illustrated guide to all things dinosaur! If you have kids like mine, that are obsessed with dinos, this would be a great addition to your library.

I love the pronunciation guide for each dinosaur, and it was cool to see how big they would have been compared to humans.

The timeline in the beginning is a useful tool for seeing when certain dinosaurs would have been around, and the how to use the book guide is a great reference, especially for kids just getting the hang out reading non-fiction and using the different text features.

This book was so adorable, I loved everything about it, the illustrations were so well done, they suited the book perfectly, the story was amazing as well. I’m sure the kids are going to be just as enthralled with this amazing book as I was. I will definitely recommend! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy

This book was fantastic. My niece absolutely loves dinosaurs so this was a great chance to look at this book before I buy her the hard copy. The facts and illustrations were fantastic. I hope more books are made in this manner as I enjoyed the layout very much.

If you have a little one - I'd say between the ages of 5 and 12 - that love dinosaurs, than this is a must read. Written in encyclopedia style, this is a glossary of all the known and identified dinosaur types from A-Z.

The book opens with a discussion of the different periods and some Dino generic info. It's pretty in depth and a little over the head of the younger readers but it's what, I think, will keep the older ones engaged.

For each Dino, there is a little "chart" with info. It's Latin name, pronunciation, time period, etc. For at least two per page, there is also a little graphic that gives scale - the Dino standing next to a 6 ft human - and a brightly drawn picture of what we assume it looked like. Those were hands down our favorite part. We looked at "how tall the Dino would be next to daddy" since daddy is 6 ft (ish) tall. It gave a great, understandable size reference for my little guy...and for me too.

I would have loved that for each dinosaur, honestly.

We also found Dinosaurs we didn't know existed which was pretty fun. There are a lot more different types than we know of so we learned something fun.

This one just might end up on my son's shelf.

I loved the illustrations in this book. Everything was so cohesive in style, but unique in coloring. The featured dinosaurs were a mix of classic favorites and new ones that I hadn’t heard of previously. I learned about a whole bunch of new dinosaurs. I’m looking forward to adding this to my collection when it’s available as a physical copy.

This is a very cool book. While I'm not sure about the facts because I've never really looked into it, I know my daughter will enjoy this book. I love the photos in the book as well as how the book is put together. The fact sections are also good information.
