Temperance has the best found family. She loves them all desperately even if she's learned to steer clear of Duncan, the love of her teenage life. But they've has a falling out and, while he's tempting to keep coming back to, she doesn't understand what broke them in the first place. Her career is facing a fork in the road and she has a big decision between pursuing what she's passionate about and falling in line with her parents and financial security. Duncan has never wanted to stand in her way but the relentless pull of his feelings is hard to resist.
I have a big love for Jen's writing style. The way she pulls at emotions and brings out the chemistry between her main characters is a bit magical. My only hurdle is the heavy amount of foul language saturating what could be perfect (absolutely a "me" preference). I love a good second chance redemption and Jen delivers it with a lot of angst. It was a delight to be back on the Pennsylvania vineyard with the Brady family.
Thank you to St Martin's Press and NetGalley for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

I enjoyed revisiting these characters after liking Bend Toward the Sun earlier this year. Romance stories with lots of family dynamics and history among the characters really work for me so this was great for that. Right Where We Left Us is a solid second chance romance with great banter and character development.

It took me a while to get into this book. It’s third person POV, which isn’t my favorite in contemporary romance.
Duncan and Temperance had a second chance romance, but it was more of a will-they-or-won’t-they situation. They obviously had feelings for each other, but there was many outside factors keeping them from truly being together.
Both characters had their own “problems” and went through personal growth. And I did like how this ended.
But this book had so many characters, I couldn’t keep track of them all. And I don’t know what it was, but the story didn’t really keep my attention. So while I didn’t love this story, I didn’t hate it either.

Jen Devon just has this amazing way with words and chemistry, and Right Where We Left Us is an excellent follow up to BTTS. So much angst, so much pinning, so much tension! One could just about self-combust reading this slow burn! TJ and Duncan fell in love years ago, but have been messily avoiding each other, snarking, and hooking up ever since. A wedding brings them back together and gives them a chance to get things right. If you love a contemporary romance that feels big and sweeping, with a cast of well-developed side characters and a lot of page-turning tension, this one is for you.

Right Where We Left Us is a well-told second chance romance. Devon creates a storyline that plays out vividly in the reader's mind as well as feeling strong emotions for the characters. Not rated higher due to dislike for the miscommunication trope and wanting to shake the MC at times, but will continue to read anything Jen Devon writes because she's brilliant.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the e-ARC, opinions are my own.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishing Company for this Advanced Readers Copy of Right Where We Left Us by Jen Devon!

Unfortunately, I ended up DNF this book. It had such a cute concept, but it just wasn't hitting, for some reason??? Possibly just not for me. Had no desire to keep reading/pick this one up, despite trying multiple times. Finally deciding to move on to other things.
Thanks to St. Martin's Press/St. Martin's Griffin and the author for the eARC. This is my honest opinion.

jen devon can do no wrong. this was one of my most anticipated reads of 2024 and it did not disappoint. I NEED MORE JEN DEVON IN MY LIFE.

This was an amazing second chance romance. I didn’t particularly like all the misunderstandings and hidden secrets; however, Jen Devon did an amazing job explaining why they happened. This just shows how good of a job Devon does with her writing and storytelling.
I can’t wait to get the next Brady sibling’s story.

I hate it when a book could be really good, but it just doesn’t hit the mark. The storyline was great. I loved the idea behind the story and was super excited about reading it. But when I started it took me weeks to just get into the book. Multiple starts, and then I just got stubborn about finishing.
It was not easy to read. I didn’t find out until researching the author and pulling up her other book that this was indeed a second in a series, but not indicated as such. While reading I was overwhelmed with the sheer number of characters I was trying to keep straight, wild hair storylines that kept creeping out of no where (maybe if it was read in order it would have made more sense?). I just constantly felt like I didn’t know who was coming on scene and what all the sneak peaks of backstory were lending to this story. Did she sleep with Harry at some point?! I still don’t know??
Also the sheer number of adjectives. I love to be able to picture the scene, but not at the expense of remembering the events unfolding. I felt like I was reading about something that was happening and then there would be a beautifully worded albeit distracting complicated description of the setting, and when the text turned back to the actual events I had to go back and skim the previous paragraph. So distracting, and I’ve never seen that in a book I’ve read so I know there’s a better way to construct those sentences/paragraohs/ideas while still painting the scene.
Anyhow it was a lovely storyline with miscommunication and hiding truths and feelings. By the time they finally got together I was desperate for the book to end. I really hope that the author adapts a more streamlined writing approach by the time Mal and Frankie’s book comes out because I’d love to see them move from enemies to lovers.

I received this book for free for an honest review from netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity.
Sweet and spicy🔥🥵

Second chance romance all the way! I love a reconnection story and all the pining involved in a second chance romance. And a vineyard setting, yes please!

Yay, another Brady family book! Set on a sprawling vineyard, this second chance romance between Temperance and Duncan was a lot of fun to read. I loved Bend Toward the Sun, so it was a major plus that I got to visit with those characters again. I’m looking forward to the next installment in this series!

I absolutely loved Devon's 1st book - 'Bend Towards the Sun' and was so excited to read a story about Temperance and Duncan. I loved reading about the Brady family, life on the vineyard, and the messy relationships that is life. This story explores themes of love, friendship, and the complexities of growing up and learning to stand on your own two feet - and out of the shadows of your parents.
Temperance and Duncan had one unforgettable summer together and since then, have been drawn to each other. Neither of them can deny their chemistry but the timing never seemed to be right and Temperance always ended up leaving. Now that Temperance is home for the summer, she cannot deny her feelings any longer.
Loved this so much and can't wait to read more from Jen Devon.
Thank you so much to St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book!

Temperance Jean Madigan and Duncan Brady have never gotten it right. After one radiant, secret summer together when they were eighteen, they’ve been on-again off-again ever since. Now, despite red-hot chemistry and TJ’s closeness with Duncan’s family, they’re virtually strangers, only capable of adversarial banter, awkward small talk―and the occasional messy hookup.
When a wedding at the Brady’s vineyard lands TJ there for the summer, their mutual avoidance strategies prove impossible. The last thing TJ wants is to be under those angsty, heated glances Duncan thinks he hides. And for Duncan, having fiery TJ constantly close is the ultimate distraction that he absolutely can’t afford. When forced proximity begins to chip away at their armor, buried tensions resurface, old wounds urge confrontation, and once-in-a-lifetime love demands one last chance to finally get it right.
Loved it from the start. Cannot wait to read more from the author.

Loved this! The cover is stunning and this was a great chick lit read. Thanks for the copy in exchange for an honest review!

This is the sequel to “Bend Towards the Sun” . However, it could easily be a stand alone romance if you have not read the first book (I had not read the first book and did not realize it was a follow up novel).
Two best friends, Lily and Noah reconnect with each other after not seeing each other for years. They have to work through their feelings and their past and present relationship. This book is slightly predictable and I felt like there was a lot going on with a lot of characters. This was very much a slow burn for me and was just okay. If you love forced proximity and second chance romances this book is for you!

First off, I am obsessed with this purple cover! I loved the dual POV here, but I did have some problems with the miscommunications. But there was plenty of pining here and I did enjoy Duncan and Temperance together.

Cute but found myself skimming a lot of it. Hard for me to care a lot about the characters. Didn’t love the vibes but that’s probably just me!

Bend Towards the Sun was one of my favorite books when I read it a few years ago, so I was thrilled to hear this book was set in the same world and that we would get to revisit Cloud Tide vineyard and some of the characters from that book.
I also love a good second chance romance so I was thrilled to dive into this one and learn about the complicated relationship between Temperance and Duncan. I loved being transported back in time to when these two wonderful characters first met and fell in love and then broke up, and then of course to see how they interact in present day and to see if the timing would finally be right for them to be together.
Jen Devon's writing is lovely as always, and I loved that in addition to the beautiful second chance romance, there's also just such a wonderful focus on family.
