4.25ish stars! Andie Burke's FALL FOR HIM is a delightful and witty MM rom-com that had me wanting what these two have. The concept is silly: a home renovator falls through his floor into his downstairs neighbor's apartment after his floods. Luckily for our homeboy Dylan, his neighbor is a sexy male nurse worthy of a Shonda Rhimes hospital named Derek. One hot super geek with a nipple piercing and crippling ADHD + an Asian McSteamy in grey sweatpants with a heart of gold and a habit of being the little spoon = perfection. They both have their own complicated relationships with their families and have had major losses in their lives that've changed the way they live life and view love. But like any good rom-com, the two bond over their mutual struggles and admire each other's differences and fall in love. Derek embraces Dylan's ADHD struggles and Dylan helps Derek grieve his father's death. It's beautiful. Their banter is top tier.

I really related to Dylan's mental health struggles and not wanting to be treated like you're broken. Not wanting to be defined by a diagnosis, yet simultaneously being controlled by the same diagnosis. The ADHD rep felt realistic and that makes sense because I believe Burke has also been diagnosed with it. Dylan talks about changing careers for his mental health and as someone who is finding themselves in a similar predicament, I was not only inspired, but needed to hear that it's okay to choose inner peace. When you don't trust yourself, it's really important that you have a partner that you can trust with all of that little stuff so you feel safe and like you're not seen as broken and Dylan summarizes that up perfectly. I felt seen and I think it's important to see this kind of rep in mm romances.

Dylan's storyline certainly had me invested, but I fell head over heels for our thick thighed king Derek. How could you not? Looks like an Abercrombie model, casually knows how to cut hair, reads and loves Julia Roberts? Where do I sign up? His dad's cancer storyline was sad and hit home for me right now, but it really brought more humanity to him. He's such a beefy, big-hearted, sweetie...don't even get me started on the weekly voicemails he leaves Michelle. The way I'd immediately request to be his patient if I were a local. His dedication to the healthcare profession is admirable, exhausting and even ends in a black eye on occasion. Burke clearly infuses her own healthcare experiences to authentically bring more attention to how bad the American health care system is.

In terms of chemistry, Derek and Dylan are on fire, but the spice isn't out of pocket or ridiculous. The spicy is intimate, vulnerable and very romantic. The way Derek spoke about the many versions of himself feeling safe and seen in front of Dylan is the definition of love and it really warmed my very gay, very single, cold heart. And that only makes any spice kinkier because there are actual feels attached. But like...do I get a nip piercing? I may have a mental illness, BUT I HAVE A NIPPLE PIERCING! I CONTAIN MULTITUDES! But seriously, this is cute as hell and special thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! Now i just gotta conveniently find a way to fall into my downstair neighbor's apartment. Shoot, I don't have one. Guess I'll have to live vicariously through these two.

One thing I love about NetGalley ARCs is that they help me discover some fantastic new-to-me authors, and Andie Burke is one of them!

Excitement from page one! Dylan is renovating his uncle's apartment, when he accidentally falls through the floor, right into the bed of his downstairs neighbor, Derek! Yes, Dylan literally FALLS into Derek. Fate? Perhaps. However, Derek doesn't quite see it that way.

These two start as enemies -- but because of the apartment damage, they're forced to work together. Dylan agrees to do and pay for all the repairs if Derek doesn't report the damage to the apartment complex. And Derek also agrees to let him, if Dylan keeps Derek's dog hush-hush. But despite their ire toward each other, this reluctant partnership soon turns into a tentative friendship... and into these two men seeming to care about each other... and then into... more.

There's a lot of great banter in this book. Honestly, give me some solid banter and I'm yours. The inside jokes... the sarcastic text messages... it's all just *chef's kiss. But there's also quite a bit of emotional upheaval. Derek is an ER nurse, so he's dealing with a lot of stress; but he's also still dealing with the grief of losing someone very close to him, and his best friend just left on a months-long trip, leaving him pretty much alone. Dylan is a talented computer programmer, but he also has ADHD, which can make it hard for him to remember things, like taking care of his own basic needs. He's also not the best at expressing what he's feeling.

But somewhere in the mess of these two working out their stuff and learning about each other, some pretty beautiful things happen. And if you're willing to sit through some tears while you watch the pieces fall apart and stitch themselves back together -- the HEA is worth it!

I love Andie Burke’s first book, Fly with Me, so I wasn’t sure how this book would stack up in comparison. I didn’t find Fall for Him as magical and life changing as I found Fly with Me, but I would still rate Fall for Him 5 stars!

I felt like both main characters were portrayed with nuance and care. I felt a strong sense of their personalities and how their romantic attraction to each other built and developed. There was no insta-love and their path from a grudge to a relationship felt realistic. I loved reading about their relationship; it was so sweet and swoony. I loved seeing how protective and caring Derek was toward Dylan. (We also got a few spicy scenes which were amazing too!)

A big part of the plot grew from the fact that Dylan and Derek had justifiably different interpretations of the same events. I thought that part of the novel was especially well-written.

The novel also included well-written descriptions of loss, grief, and having to say good-bye to something you never had.

Despite some heavier themes, the book still made me laugh and smile. My favorite character was Dylan’s sister (Felicity), a self-described “tatted-up, bisexual ginger with ADHD.” She was funny, spunky, and stood up for what was right. I would love to read a novel about Felicity’s own journey to find love. I would also read pretty much anything Andie Burke writes.

Highlights:
- main character with ADHD
- the perfect mix of funny & emotional
- forced proximity
- well-developed side characters
- friendship, loss, and grief

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book!

I liked this book a lot. As someone who doesn’t typically read romance, I didn’t know how I’d feel going into this. In the beginning it was quite confusing trying to learn the names and differentiate who was who. I liked the storyline and the humor in it a ton. Overall it was a great book.

Dylan Gallagher’s hot neighbor loathed him from the second he moved in, and causing a flood, falling through the floor, and landing directly onto that same neighbor’s bed probably means that’s unlikely to change. The poorly timed “It’s Raining Men” joke didn’t help. Meanwhile, ER nurse Derek Chang’s life is a literal when-rains-it-pours nightmare. A man he hates dropped into his life along with an astronomically expensive problem originating from Derek’s own apartment’s plumbing. Also, the local HOA tyrant has been sniffing around trying to fine him for his extended, illicit banned breed dog-sitting.

Since Dylan also wants to keep the catastrophe quiet, he offers to fix the damage himself. Dylan’s sure he’s not Derek’s type, so he focuses all his ADHD hyper fixation energy on getting the repair job done as quickly as possible—avoiding doing anything stupid like acting on his very inconvenient crush. Meanwhile Derek tries to ignore that the tattooed nerd sleeping on the couch is surprisingly witty, smart, and kind, despite the long-term grudge Derek’s been holding against him. But will squeezing all their emotional baggage plus a dog into a tiny one-bedroom apartment be a major disaster…or just prove they’re made for each other?

Andie Burke strikes again! Witty and hilarious, outrageous and beautiful. I loved both the main characters, the plot was fun, and I laughed out loud too many times to count. I also cried. All the best books are like that. I would definitely recommend this. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This book was so good!! It was cute and sweet and hot and funny and just everything. I loved the characters and the story that was told.

Fall For Him by Andie Burke was funny, relatable, heartwarming, and adorable. I fell for both of the characters as people just as much as I enjoyed them in a relationship.

Fall For Him is about two men, Dylan and Derek, who live in the same apartment building and have a not so great neighborly relationship. Unexpected circumstances lead to them needing to spend a lot more time together and getting to know each other in ways they never thought they would.

This book was super easy to read and get through. The story moved very organically and I wanted to keep going to see how their dynamic would progress throughout the story. The only down fall for me was just that some story lines fell short for me. It felt like something was thrown in there or resolved in interesting ways. It felt like things were moving in directions that were a bit off for me at some points.

4.5 ⭐️ Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC!

Fall for Him was adorable! The book seamlessly combines banter and wit with the struggles we face daily, and it's an enemies-to-lovers rom-com that you won't be able to put down.

Dylan and Derek were both lovely characters. I could relate to Dylan because of his ADHD diagnosis, and his point of view was so well-written that it accurately described the thoughts, feelings, and actions of someone with this disorder. Derek, on the other hand, had difficulties balancing his roles as an older brother and fatherly figure. Despite his good intentions, it was tough seeing him struggle.

The plot and narrative arc were fantastic, evoking both laughter and teary eyes. Such a great read!

Excellent banter that had me grinning stupidly from ear to ear! I loved how the romance was balanced with great character backstory and development for BOTH leads and really loved the dual POV that let us get into each person’s head. While the similar names threw me a bit for a while, Dylan and Derrick did each feel very distinct in their voice and stories and they complimented each other so well.

Things I loved:
- The siblings. They provided the best banter in the book,
- The awful neighbor. I know it's weird that she's on the list of things I loved, but she was so amazingly awful she provided a lot of frustrating but great humor. She's so bad. I loved every minute of hating her.
- Generally speaking, there's some great humor throughout and a lot of it is slapstick which I am a total immature sucker for. There's a thing with a plunger...
- Dog
- ADHD rep

Things I didn't:
- Giving the two main characters alliterative names drove me nuts and made it hard to keep track of who was who for longer than I'd like to admit.
- The ending was a smidge anticlimactic. I think this was a missed opportunity.
- The sister that is MIA for much of the book and then comes back.......but not really??? Idk this was a weirrrrrd loose thread for me.
- I think this book meanders and has a lot of underbaked elements. A better edit would have weeded some of this out,
- Third act crisis is not great.

Still a fun, quick read!

I think Andie Burke is one of my top five favorite authors now?? Between Fly Me Away and this book I am so completely sold. Derek and Dylan are so good with one another because they also have their own shit they are learning to take care of on their own before bringing it into the relationship. While also leaning on one another. And yes the miscommunication happens but only to a POINT and then they talk to each other so well its so satisfying to read. Also the sexy times in this book had me BLUSHING!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Publishing Group for this eARC!!

Derek and Dylan’s story starts off really chaotic with a destroyed floor and ceiling between their apartments, resulting in them having to room together while they fix it. They already don’t like each other, but especially Derek due to the past Dylan has with someone Derek knew.
This book isn’t just about their love story, they also deal with overcoming grief, familial problems, work stress, and sheds light on what it’s like having ADHD. Although it’s a lot of topics to fit into a 350ish page book, nothing felt rushed or out of place, and it flowed well while reading.
Derek’s dislike for Dylan in the first quarter of the book was slightly annoying! Though I can understand why he felt this way towards Dylan, I can also understand the point of view from Dylan being unnecessarily bashed on and judged for no reason (as far as he was aware at the time). I’m glad Derek and Dylan were able to work out their differences and make progress in their relationship in a timely manner, nothing felt rushed!
This book had a mix of sadness, humor, and cute moments that I loved. Derek and Dylan’s little “Kay”’s I knew would be a common saying throughout the book! They both care for one another so much, I felt the love from both of them 💕. Their first kiss was everything, their boyfriend talk was everything, Derek’s casual affection was everything! Their growth from the beginning to the end of the book was beautiful, not only with each other, but with dealing with grief, family dynamics (and standing up for themselves/each other), and Dylan’s ADHD. All issues wrapped up nicely for the end of the book, though I do wish there was more to say about Derek’s sister.
I will say, I did not know this was slightly connected to Fly with Me, the authors other book. Both I believe are still standalones, though! I will have to go and read that one next because Fall for Him was such a wonderful story!

I loved Andie Burke's previous novel Fly With Me, especially the emotional aspect of it. This book was just as enjoyable! Even though the story was a little messy at times and it took a while for me to get into it, I overall enjoyed the outcome.

Fall For Him is a wonderful novel that I found so much of myself in both Dylan and Derek. Who knew that I could feel like both of the main characters?
When Dylan quite *literally* falls for Derek (through the ceiling), I knew that I would love these characters. Both have an amazing support system whether it be their families or their friends, you can tell that they are loved, even when they feel like they may not deserve it.
I loved this story for so many reasons, but mostly for the emotions it made me feel. It made me laugh and it also made me sob.
Burke knows how to pull on heartstrings and does it well.

The big problem that I had with this book was that it was a MM romance where they both started off fairly grumpy with the other but their names were so similar that I had no idea who was who at first. Their names are Dylan and Derek and I got to the point where I had to go glasses = nice, not glasses = mean and hope the author threw fidgeting with glasses into the narrative. So, that was overall not great.

Derek (I think) was operating under a bad set of information about Dylan and had been mean to him for a very long time and I never really warmed to him. Every time Dylan (I think) tried to explain what happened with Jake (an old friend of Derek’s), he was shut down to the point where he didn’t want to defend himself.

There were a bunch of emotional punches in this that I ordinarily would have liked but since I struggled so hard in the beginning, this was a miss for me. I’m bummed about it too.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy in advance.

I adored this book from start to finish. I felt so immersed in both Derek and Dylan as individual characters, and their shared story. They were well-developed, nunaced characters dealing with their own shit, but none of that got overlooked or forgotten throughout their romance. I was also incredibly charmed by all the side characters, and appreciated that they had an active role throughout the book and added depth, as opposed to just passively existing.

If you are looking for a witty, charming, and sweet story, this is it. As soon as I finished the epliogue, I was ready to flip back to page one and start all over again.

I enjoyed this book. Derek and Dylan were quite mean to each other to start with, but slowly got over themselves and eventually helped support each other despite some toxic situations with family and former lovers. I liked the banter between the two male leads, and the way struggles with mental health issues were portrayed.

Thanks to Netgalley for an ARC copy.

3.5 ish for me. this one was very cute but also i found it very hard to get into for almost the majority of the book which is why the rating got bumped down quite a bit. the names got to be a little confusing lol and the mystery behind their feud was annoying at times but the banter was so good and the adhd rep was great!
