The summer of yes is the perfect book for this summer. Its a quick read and light hearted. Perfect book to read on a vaction.
The story revolves around Kelsey who has a car accident and it makes her realize if she is missing out on her life because of her 24/7 work and not giving importance to het family and friends and other fun things in life.
When she meets a celebrity in hospital next to her bed, it makes her realise she has to prioritise her social life over her work.
This book is mainly to readers of 30+ years having a mid life crisis which shows how anybody can deal with their life with the help of that one person who comes like a sudden wave.
“I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own”. Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction.

The Summer of Yes was spectacular! Not your typical romance story. Sure there was a sweet love story or two in there, but that wasn't the point of the book, IMO. This was a story of friendship & being true to yourself and doing things in life that make you happy (more often than not). Reading Kelsey & Georgines story made me want a friendship just like that one. Thank you Courtney Walsh for a wonderful story!

Thank you NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction and author Courtney Walsh for this arc!
This is the book I have been waiting for all year … and lovelies, it did not disappoint! Move it on up to the top of your summer TBR right now … go ahead, I’ll wait!
It’s a grumpy/sunshine friendship with an unlikely duo that will just win your heart over from the start! I absolutely LOVED Georgina … I had so many laugh out loud moments surrounding her old lady curmudgeon-ness (not a word) and young & energetic Kelsey was just what she needed!
I absolutely swooned over the romance in this one too … love is not just for the young and both relationships at each end of the age spectrum just made my heart melt!
This story is the perfect mash up between new starts & second chances, found family & restoring broken family bonds and learning to find happiness in the most unexpected places … just by saying YES!
I say it in every review of a CW book … and I will say it again in this one … if you are looking for an author who writes stories that make your heart smile … @courtneywalsh is your girl! The best plots, the best characters and the best HEA’s … ever!

A fun summer read and a great lesson for all of us. When we look past our fears and anxieties, the end result can be life-affirming. Though this is a light and fun beach read, the message gives it compelling depth. Add it to your vacation TBR!

This was the perfect summer read! The Summer of Yes is an easy, breezy women's fiction book with the sweetest touch of romance. I saw a lot of myself in Kelsey, so it was fun to see her move out of her comfort zone and try new things. It even inspired me to do the same!
At this point, I'm convinced that Courtney Walsh could write a grocery list and I would still want to read it. Don't miss this one!

Gerogina’s toughness and Dylan’s sweet, goofy personality were such a fun combination! I also really enjoyed JP’s banter with Kelsey and wish there was even more of him, especially as they wrapped things up at the end. Overall, a cute summer read!

I tried but I cannot get into this one. I'm sure it has its target audience but unfortunately, that is not me. The cover is adorable though!

People don’t leave quickly, but they do leave suddenly.
This was a fun but also serious book about life choices, regrets and saying yes to things that matter.
I enjoyed this story from the first page till the end. Kelsey had a fun bubbly personality which won over others easily, while still having a serious side with self-confidence issues. Georgina comes across as a stubborn grumpy old lady, but as the story unfolds, we see there is more to her story.
This book will take readers on a fun adventure, while making them look at their own lives and wondering what would have been different if they said yes to more.
“is that life . . . is good. And wonderful. And horrible, and beautiful, and messy, and everything all at once. And that is the beauty of it. It’s overwhelming, but it’s never boring. And it should be lived to the fullest.

Thank you to the publisher for my egalley of this title, all opinions are my own!
What an absolute delight this story was! While yes, there is a love story in it, they was so much more to it. I loved the setting, the growth we saw from the characters, the banter between elderly Georgina and young Kelsey, and more. Not only did we get to see a 30 something main character (which I love, because I feel that 20 something's are overdone these days), but we got to witness Georgina's heart and priorities change, too. The themes of hope, forgiveness, and starting over at any age were so beautifully fleshed out.
The love story in this book was swoon worthy without steam, and I loved it. The tension was well executed, the characters were very sweet with one another, and I loved the lack of miscommunication - aka the reason for the worst third act break ups in history! These adults communicated well, were respectful, and realistic - three things I rarely see bundled into one story.
I took off one star because I desperately wanted an epilogue, but other than that - adored this book and cannot wait to read more from Courtney Walsh!

I really liked the idea of this one, but it started out so slow. It wasn't until 30% that I cared about anything or felt like anything important happened.

First and foremost; thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for allowing me to read the ARC of this novel! Thank you!
Imagine almost dying. Imagine almost dying and having to share a room with a celebrity. Now imagine that celebrity a woman slowly dying and not your biggest fan.
Do you have the picture? Good.
Now imagine these two women, bound by accident and illness agreeing to say “yes” to a spontaneous roadtrip to rekindle a family’s shattered past and to fall in love along the way.
It was such a refreshing story to read over the summer that not only showed what following your heart can lead you to, but what it can also heal from.

So excited I was able to get an ARC on Net Galley, from Thomas Nelson Fiction😘
This book was an absolute joy to read! Courtney Walsh can do no wrong that I’ve found yet.
We have a young workaholic (sunshine) who meets an older workaholic (grumpy) and they learn from each other what they really want/need from life by saying yes to all of the things they usually say no to.
I would call this women’s fiction with a touch of romance, which was perfect. Of course, in Courtney Walsh style, it’s funny, whitty & sweet.

I love this author so much and I knew this was going to be a fun read! I did feel like the first 30% was slow and dragged on a bit but the concept of this book was so good! It’s unique and perfectly written. It was such a heartwarming story and I really enjoyed going on the journey with the characters.

Thank you so much to the publisher and to the author for my eARC. I love Courtney Walsh's books and I knew I needed her latest summer read!
While not my favorite of Walsh's books, this book is so good and worth reading! I loved the main characters and the themes of found family, examining what's important in life, and the attitude of adventure with each "YES!"
I definitely recommend it when deciding on a good summer read!

The Summer of Yes was a lovely story about saying yes, embracing change, forgiveness, and second chances.
Kelsey just woke up in the hospital, having been in an accident that makes her rethink her priorities in life. This leads to The Summer of Yes where she’ll say yes to things she would usually say no. She plans a trip with a total stranger she met at the hospital, to help her say yes too.
I loved the characters, the setting, the dialogues, and Kelsey’s inner voice. It was a cute and funny story talking about life, but with a little bit of a very sweet romance, I loved Hayden!
If you're looking for a feel-good read that'll make you laugh, swoon, and maybe even shed a tear or two, grab yourself a copy of "The Summer of Yes”. You'll finish it with a smile and maybe a newfound willingness to say "yes" to life's possibilities!

Kelsey has settled into her life as an editor, but dreams of being a writer. She wakes up in the hospital finding out that she was hit by a car and now has a cranky roommate. Her roommate, Georgina Tate, has made a name for herself and become a career businesswoman, but as Kelsey learns at the expense of her family. Kelsey decides to not end up like that and stop saying no to things and has declared this as the summer of yes. Kelsey is now no longer able to say no to opportunities and has somehow managed to convince Georgina to go along with her as well. Will Kelsey be able to say yes to things that cross her path? Will Georgina be able to overcome her hesitations and reconnect with her family? This is a great book filled finding oneself, romance, and reconciliation. I really enjoyed this book!

A near-death experience catapults workaholic junior editor Kelsey Worthington into changing her life--one yes at a time.
Kelsey Worthington always dreamed of being a writer, but she's settled into a routine of helping other people tell their stories in her job as a junior editor. She doesn't go outside of her comfort zone. Her relationships are safe. Her job is secure. Her existence is stable. And she's great with that.
And then, the accident.
While she's in the hospital overnight, she meets an older woman named Georgina Tate--a glass-ceiling-shattering, wildly successful businesswoman. Georgina sacrificed everything to become the woman she is today, but now, with a pair of failing kidneys and only a handful of months left to live, Georgina is forced to come face-to-face with her regrets. Kelsey is forced to reckon with her own list of "things I'll do someday," and she starts to ask a simple but life-changing What if I said yes to all the things I normally say no to? And The Yes Plan is born.
It takes some convincing, but Georgina finally agrees to go along with Kelsey on her Summer of Yes adventures. The two of them set off to see what might be out there waiting for them if they simply open themselves up to it. Together, they say yes to whatever comes their way--a whole day being tourists in their own New York City, dinner with strangers, a convertible that is far from practical but so much fun. But when Kelsey springs a surprise visit to Georgina's son Hayden and Georgina's ex-husband (who is not so much of an ex), the older woman is less than thrilled. But this is where the true journey begins.
Two stories of love, forgiveness, regret, romance, and finding a way to live a fearless life intertwine as these two women make an indelible impression on each other. And it all starts with a simple "yes."

Well, I am 48 years old, and I stayed up until 2:15 AM last night reading this book. That is not the usual for me.
Do you like enemies-to-friends, found family, forced proximity, and and happy endings? Have you ever wondered if you are doing it right? Have you ever thought there might have been more out there for you...if only you had said YES more often?
Listen, I am pretty happy with my life, and I don't regret the decisions I made in the past because they made me the person who I am today. But I also read a lot of fiction, and part of the fun of that is that I get to try on different stories, and I get to fall into different worlds, and I get to ride along on others' journeys. And late last night, I found myself on Kelsey's journey, and I LOVED it.
This was my first Courtney Walsh book, and I can't wait to check out her back catalog because I am going to set out on some other people's journeys, and I hope I can enjoy them half as much as I enjoyed Kelsey's and Georgina's. Five enthusiastic stars for this one!

The Summer of Yes is a fascinating story about opening your heart and mind to all the possibilities of saying yes, to new experiences, new career choices and most importantly new relationships.
Courtney Walsh has written a fun yet thought provoking plot that will make readers laugh, cry and think "what-if" while being totally satisfied with the wonderful conclusion.
I enjoyed everything about Walsh's latest book and highly recommend it. I appreciate Thomas Nelson Fiction making a copy available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.

🚙 The Summer of Yes - Courtney Walsh
4 ⭐️ - Oh my goodness, my heart! This book was so incredibly sweet, warm, emotional, and heartwarming. I laughed, I cried, I felt like I was family to these characters. The growth and relationship between the main characters was so endearing and enjoyable.
Kelsey Worthington’s life changed after a near death accident. She always wanted to be a writer but she settled on helping others tell their story as an editor. She doesn’t go out of her comfort zone and she’s very comfortable in her life… until the accident. In the hospital, she meets successful business woman, Georgina Tate. Kelsey had an accident, Georgina has an illness. Both are living with regrets in life, thus the “say yes to everything” plan is born.
The relationship between Kelsey and Georgina reminded me of relationships with my own grandmothers. Actually, I also thought about Mia Thermopolis and Queen Clarisse a lot too. I loved how they took their own regrets and sadness, shared it, and changed it. They grew together and formed a lovable bond. I was so invested in what would happen between them and in the world around them. AND the adventure they’d go on while saying “yes” to everything. If you’re looking for a fun, adventure-filled, easy summer read, try this one!
Thank you Netgalley, Harper Collins, and Harper Collins audio for the early ARC and listener copies! This one is out now!

📖: The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh

This was such a wonderful story about living in the moment and remembering to 丅ᖇᑌᒪƳ 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 your life! I feel like sometimes as a career driven person it can be easy to forget that we should be working to live and not living to work, and this book captured this so perfectly! Honestly, the relationship the two FMCs created was my favorite part of the entire book. Georgina was everything! The romance was also very cute, but was more of a bonus to the rest of the book than the main focus in my opinion.
Both FMCs in this one are your classic workaholics. Kelsey is a 32 year old assistant editor who has a near death experience and gets the “pleasure” of sharing a hospital room with Georgina, our older, very persnickety and grumpy FMC. Georgina is dying and is estranged from her son and husband because she chose work over family for her entire career, and now that she’s dying she’s having some regrets. Kelsey sees this in Georgina and realizes that she doesn’t want to end up like her when she’s older, so she comes up with the summer of “yes” and drags Georgina along with her!
