I’m really glad I read this book! Some aspects of it were bittersweet for me, because I’m in a season of life where I can’t say yes to a lot of things I want to do. But I know it won’t be that way forever. This book also made me think of the ways I can say yes to my family, which was a good reminder that I needed!

Kelsey and Georgina are such well-written characters! I was so invested in their story and what was going to happen that I had a hard time putting the book down. I thought about the characters a lot, as well as the themes of the book, and it’s a story that I’m very glad I read.

I highly recommend this beautiful book!

Kelsey Worthington is snapped out of her workaholic life abruptly by a car accident and goes on an unexpected journey with her hospital roommate who is also a successful business woman & kindred spirit, Georgiana Tate.

This was a sweet story of unexpected friendship, reconnecting with those you love, and opening doors to new opportunities. I appreciated the themes of reconciliation, forgiveness, grace, and leaning into vulnerability that were throughout the book. I'm someone who truly embraces my independence and appreciated the perspective this book brought about why we need to lean on those we love. I definitely recommend this book & it's perfect to pick up for the summer! This was my first @courtneywalsh book - I'm excited to read more!

Is The Summer of Yes the perfect summer read? YES!! I absolutely loved this book! It is lighthearted and fun, but also centers on some really important topics, like taking chances and even taking second chances, and pursuing your dreams, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone. I’ve already found myself inspired to say yes to trying a few new things this summer that I normally wouldn’t have!

Plus the characters are fantastic! I loved Kelsey, Georgina, JP, Hayden, and Dylan. Young and old, super successful and quietly content, big city and small town, new love and old flames, and so much friendship - this story has it all, and it’s all woven into such a beautiful and uplifting story!

Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this one in exchange for an honest review!

This book follows a young woman who wakes up in the hospital after she is hit by a car. She is roomed with a famous businesswoman. She has a sort of midlife crisis and decides to go on a summer of yes where she finally does stuff that she wants to do.

I wasn’t a huge fan of this one. I felt like there were so many cliches and it was just hard to connect to anyone. I felt like the characters weren’t developed and instead were just cliches.

I hope others love this one but it wasn’t for me.

A beautifully moving, dual POV story of second chances and trying to correct your life's biggest regrets. When Kelsey has a near death experience it causes her to rethink her workaholic ways and when she meets Georgina, a dying business maven in the hospital she works hard to convince the grumpy older woman to join her on a summer of saying yes adventure.

I loved this story of intergenerational friendship, new love, starting over and figuring out what's truly important in life. Highly recommended for fans of books like Sarah Adler's Mrs. Nash's ashes and Sarah Goodman Confino's She's up to no good. Great on audio too narrated by Tanya Eby & Cathi Colas. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

The longer I sat with my thoughts, the more I liked this book! The messages resonate so strongly!
When Kelsey Worthington wakes up in the hospital next to the legendary Georgina Tate, the only thing they have in common is regret. Undeterred by Georgina’s reputation and superior attitude, Kelsey is determined to come out of her shell, say YES to the very things she’s been avoiding, and take Georgina on the journey with her!
This is a heartwarming story about not hiding from the things that might make you uncomfortable and being willing to experience all life has to offer. It’s a reminder of what is important at the end of the day and life, and not to lose those moments to the rat race that won’t matter in the end. This novel encompasses life’s simple pleasures, some bigger risks, regrets, family, friendship and forgiveness. Both women, despite their age differences, each experience growth and self-discovery.
This is more of a Women’s Fiction than Romance book, but there is tender love to be found here among the relationships encountered.
And ultimately, it’s a reminder to go out of your comfort zone and be willing to sometimes say YES! We may be surprised what may come out of that! This would be a great book club read – I’m sure there would be a lot of interesting discussions!

The Summer of Yes is a witty and amusing story of a woman who is forced to reevaluate her priorities after an accident.

Two unlikely paired women partner on a summer of yes (although one participant is a much easier sell on the idea). Through funny banter and shared encouragement they both push each other to get out of their comfort zones, be vulnerable, and chase after individual dreams they didn’t think were within reach. A very fun summer read!

After an unexpected accident, Kelsey spends a night in the hospital. While she is there, she is roomed up with one of the most successful businesswomen around. After signing an NDA and getting a glimpse into Georgnia’s life, Kelsey decides that she’s going to make some changes. She’s going to say “yes” and she’s taking Georgina with her. What will come of their wild ride? Only time will tell!

Such a super fun book! With a super important storyline. You never know what you are missing when you’re living a stagnant life. You never know what saying yes will do to change your world!

Thank you NetGalley and Courtney Walsh for an advanced copy of this book!

This book was such a fabulous read! I loved the story line and found it such a refreshing and inspiring read.

When Kelsey Worthington wakes up in a hospital after a near death experience, she realizes she now has a second chance on life. She ends up in the same hospital room with the rich and famous Georgina Tate and after talking with her, she is left inspired. It is time to take charge of her life again and start saying yes.

I loved the changing perspectives between Georgina and Kelsey. This story was so well done and I loved how it ended. This book not only had a cute romance but it also left me with a feeling of hope. I want to have my own summer of yes.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun and cute summer read. Warning- there is talk of dialysis and kidney transplant.

The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Publisher: Thomas Nelson Fiction
Publication date: July 2, 2024
What a book. The synopsis of this book really excited me and I was really excited to read it. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sold from the beginning. It was a little bit of a slow start and I found myself reaching for different books instead of this one. I almost DNF but I am so so so glad that I kept reading. When I got to about 40% of the book- I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. I read the last 60% of the book in less than a day because I loved it so much. It made me laugh and cry on multiple parts. This one is clean yet still gives you butterflies. Thank you NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and the author for this advanced reader copy.

What a heartwarming story! I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. Kelsey and Georgina were great characters who often made me smile and giggle. The story encourages us to take chances and focus on the things and people who make us happy. This will be a great summer read. Well done!

This was such a fun summer read about friendship, family and taking chances. I highly recommend adding it to your summer TBR!

Kelsey found herself in the hospital after being hit by a car. She considered it fate that she was sharing a room with grumpy makeup mogul, Georgina Tate. Georgina was dying and needed a new kidney STAT. Both in very different situations, they were sitting in the hospital realizing neither of them had accomplished nearly enough in their lives because they were workaholics and always turned the idea of fun down with a definitive NO. Thus, the Summer of Yes was born.

I’ll admit, this book was slow to start but once the love interest was introduced, I was ALL IN. Hayden was such a likable character. He and his father were ready to forgive and help Georgina get better.

Friends, I cannot contain my excitement - I had to tell you about this incredible book! I abandoned ALL my responsibilities just so I could devour this novel in one sitting. As soon as the sun rose, I dove right in (forget sleep!) and gave the kids free rein of the house so nothing could interrupt my reading. Courtney Walsh is simply the best - this is my second book of hers and they're both phenomenal! She is my go to author! Without spoiling anything, let me just say this book took me on such an emotional journey. I filled page after page with notes because her writing is so powerful and meaningful. I fell in love with every character, even the stubborn ones. You guys, this is a truly feel-good summer read that will leave you with all the feels. I can't recommend it enough - clear your schedule because you won't want this story to end!

Cute, cute, cute. Give me an elderly adventure partner and a little romance and I’m all set. This was such a sweet, fun summer read with deeper lessons about owning your place in the world and saying “yes” to what’s truly important in life.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

“Do you ever feel like you’re not really living?”

What a beautiful, uplifting, inspirational, powerful story about an intergenerational friendship, second chances, healing and self discovery! It’s also about living life to the fullest with intentional purpose and no regrets.

I loved both of the MCs, both hardworking women who have made work their sole priority, not leaving room for family, relationships or a life outside of work. Georgina, a very successful, wealthy, stubborn, older woman who is dealing with a scary diagnosis. Kelsey, a bubbly, encouraging, persistent, young woman who is a workaholic, overthinking, control freak who craves stability, security and predictability but dreams of becoming successful in the working world no matter what the cost. After an eye opening accident occurs, “fate” brings Kelsey and Georgina together. Kelsey turns to Georgina for career advice asking “Is it worth it?” referring to the hard work and sacrifices. And so begins the Summer of Yes…a summer of adventures, experiences and a road trip. A summer of feeling alive while rediscovering the meaning of life and priorities.

I wholeheartedly believe we all read and connect with books based on our backgrounds and personal experiences and I feel like this one was written for me! This may not be a book for everyone but as a woman who tends to get wrapped up in her work and has had her share of wake up calls, I related with this character driven book on so many levels. This book was such an incredible reminder that life is precious and sacred but unpredictable, don’t take it for granted. “Life moves pretty fast. And if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Tanya Eby and Cathi Colas narration enhanced the experience, bringing the characters to life with impeccable tones and inflections while creating a believable narration. They delivered a remarkable performance from start to finish.

Sweet, hopeful, laugh out loud funny and tender. The perfect book to read poolside! And I may be saying yes a little more this summer now.

Wow, ok this might be the BEST women’s fiction/romance I have read in a while. I don’t know if it’s the theater blood in Courtney but the way that she writes characters is astounding. I could see myself in Kelsey a lot, over analyzing almost everything and coming up with situations are in her head. Yet, I want to be her. The persistence and courage it took for her to say yes to things that she normally don’t say yes to , I want that. Everything was perfect. I especially love Georgina’s stubbornness because it made her so raw and real and human. And hello Hayden. You sir are so #swoonworthy. Aside from all the amazing new summer series coming out, MAKE SURE you PICK THIS BOOK UP. It’s a story of acknowlegments , forgiveness, regrets and ultimately hope. *it’s time to think of my summer of yes 😉

I’m so glad I said yes to this summer read! This book had me checking my life priorities, and realizing that I shouldn’t be afraid to say yes to things that I can, while I still can. This sweet, hope filled summer romance should be at the top of your Summer TBR!

Kelsey and Georgina are two characters that never knew that they needed each other in their lives. When Kelsey wakes up at the hospital and realizes that she had been hit by a car, she at first can think about nothing but getting back to work so that she can get the promotion she has been working so hard for. When she ends up having to share her hospital room with another patient who is an older successful business woman (Georgina), she starts to get an idea of the cost of success. Georgina is terminally ill and is faced with the regrets she had in her life while picking her career over family and friends. Kelsey realizes that she does not want to end up with the same kind of regrets as her roommate Georgina, and so she embarks on a journey of saying yes to things she normally wouldn’t and brings Georgina along with her for the ride.

I want to thank NetGalley, Thomas Nielson Fiction, and Courtney Walsh for the complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
