I loved this book! The unexpected friendship with the adventure of saying yes to things that you’d usually say no or decline because you’re busy was so fun. I loved the development of Kelsey and Georgina throughout the book. This wasn’t like the typical books I read but I really enjoyed it and the authors writing style.

Thank you for the ARC copy. Opinions are my own
First time reading this author.
I love the title of this book.!
Kelsey is working a job she really does not find fulfilling when she's hit by a car and hospitalized. While recovering in the hospital she meets a patient named Georgia , a legendary business woman who is seriously ill. Both women are unlike the other yet each finds it's time to gab life and live it to the fullest. They sped the summer going ton adventures together and doing things they would not normally do. A story of friendship and finding oneself in the midst of tragedy
The book stats off slowly but does pick up so stay with it.

When Kelsey is hit by a car that jumped the curb walking out of her local Starbucks, her life can never go back to the way it was. She wakes up in a hospital room she is sharing with one of her idols, Georgina, who is a famously successful business woman. Georgina is dying, but Kelsey has decided to live.
The unlikely pair go on an adventure when Kelsey decides to force Georgina into a summer of saying yes to everything. What follows is a fun ride through a summer filled with things they would never have done before.
I enjoyed the premise of this book as a way to look at the things I avoid and how I could live life more fully by saying yes. This would be a great summer book club read and may make you think more about your choices and how to have an adventurous summer.

"After all, it's the little moments that make a life." I absolutely adored this book. It is the book that, once you start nearing the end, you only want to read a little at a time because you just aren't ready for the story to be over. The Summer of Yes was filled with all the emotions and I just couldn't get enough of it. Highly recommend and it most certainly my favorite by Courtney Walsh.
Thank you kindly to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for an advanced copy of this title. It is much appreciated!

I don’t know why I haven’t read more by Courtney Walsh because she writes such happy, positive and inspiring books. This is my 2nd CW book & I’d recommend both!
The Summer of Yes is a story about:
•multigenerational & unlikely friendship
•second chances & new beginnings
In dual POV, we meet Kelsey & Georgina as hospital roommates. Kelsey is a young, overworked editor & Georgina is an older, spunky & cynical business mogul. They’ve both let their careers rule their life & are pondering if it was all worth it. Kelsey decides to make some changes and embarks on “the summer of yes” and is determined to get Georgina to join her.

I ate this one up! Started it on a girls trip where I knew I would have zero time to read and came home with it halfway done! I love that it’s such a coming of age and finding yourself story. At first it gave me a lot of The Holiday vibes but I’m glad it ventured away from that (and I found it hysterical the author even references that movie!). Georgina is such a grouch that needs that extra oomph from Kelsey and I love how much Hayden helped Kelsey. But also Hayden and Kelsey were so fun together and the back and forth in this book reminded me very much of my first relationship. It was so beautifully written and with an ending to boot! I adore Courtney Walsh’s writing!

Kelsey Worthington is living a very stable and secure, not too exciting life, working as a junior editor, having safe relationships and making sure she stays in her comfort zone. Then she is literally hit by a car.... but survives. During her overnight stay in the hospital, she finds herself roommates with one of the most successful businesswomen out there, Georgina Tate. Georgina is accomplished and successful and has put everything she has into her business; this includes walking away from her husband and son many years ago to achieve what she wanted to in the business world. Georgina did not feel that she could be successful and have a family/home life, so she chose her career. Now, she is suffering with failing kidneys and a hospital roommate who is determined to change her life, embrace the second chance she has been given and say yes to more and no to less. Very hesitantly, Georgina is coming along for the ride.
This was a phenomenal book. I have definitely found a new author I love! The cover is what drew me to this book, but the story was so much more than I expected. Romance, family drama, second chances along with characters finding love for themselves and letting go of fear so they can accept and give love back to others. All the stars for this novel. I would HIGHLY recommend this one!
Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for this advanced digital reader copy in exchange for my honest review!

This work was truly a delight to behold. I enjoyed the dynamic and witty push and pull between Kelsey and Georgina and their character development was so exquisitely crafted. I love to see characters grow into their most authentic selves and work for the life they want. Life gets busy and sometimes we get in our own way. The Summer of Yes makes me want to say Yes to everything that I have been saying no to. Courtney Walsh’s The Summer of Yes was a pure delight to experience.

Review: The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh
Courtney Walsh does it again! A feel good story with a touch of multi-generational friendship complete with a road trip and splash of romance, The Summer of Yes gets a resounding YES from me.
I have always been a fan of stories that show coming of age or a new understanding, and Kelsey Worthington gets a sudden wake up call when she comes out of a coma after being hit by a taxi buying coffee for her boss. She then embarks on a summer of yes, saying yes to the things that she would often say no to. Even while dealing with important topics of self-worth, confidence, and calling, The Summer of Yes has heartwarming and laugh-out-loud moments from its quirky heroine and her persnickety side kick.
I really don't want to give much away, but if you love sunny road trips to small coastal towns and lovable characters, check out The Summer of Yes. A perfect pick for those who enjoy reading books by Melissa Ferguson, Clare Pooley, and Freya Sampson.

Courtney Walsh has been writing the best women's fiction lately. This one is amazing. Romance isn't at the center of the book (although it is certainly there!), but rather the focus of the book is learning what is most important in life and shifting your focus on what matters most, which isn't always success.
Here are a few things that I loved:
The Friendship - the friendship that develops between Kelsey and Georgina is unique and unlikely. They have a large age gap and Georgina does not want to be apart of Kelsey's idea to reject hustle culture for one summer. It made for a unique story!
The Roadtrip - Walsh writes of a road trip the unlikely friends take, and I loved seeing the way that changed the course of the book. Georgina's character really came out during the road trip, and this is where most of the amazing character growth came.
Overall, this was a great book. Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy of this book. A positive review was not required.

Courtney Walsh has become an automatic read for me over the last few years. I love her writing style and her characters are fun and well developed. In The Summer of Yes, Kelsey gets hit in a freak car accident and wounds up in the hospital with Georgina, a famous woman who owns a cosmetic company. After realizing what a close call she had and the chance meeting with Georgina, a lonely and cold woman, Kelsey decides that their meeting was not an accident and is determined to make the most of her life by saying "yes" when she would normally say "no" and includes Georgiana in the summer of yes, including a road trip to the coast of North Carolina from NYC. I found I could relate to Kelsey saying no out of fear and how much of life is missed because of that fear. This is a fun, heartwarming, and uplifting story with redemption, forgiveness, reconciliation, love, romance, new beginnings and a wonderful ending.
I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review. These are my thoughts and opinions.

This was a Great Read. Kelsey was hit by a car at Starbucks a place she shouldn't have been because it was someone else who was supposed to be there to pick up coffees for the office. Kelsey ends up in the hospital with a concussion and ends up there for several days. Kelsey is a dreamer, a writer who has her doubts about her talent. They put Georgia Tate a confident business woman in the same room. She has kidney failure . After they have several conversations, Kelsey feels like they have a common thread. Kelsey talks Georgia into a Summer of saying yes. . You must read this book about all their adventures. . GREAT READ.

This was such a fun read! As much as it felt light-hearted and humorous, there were also vulnerable moments within the storyline and the characters.
Kelsey gets into an accident that ends up changing her life. She realizes that she is working her life away, rather than saying yes to experiences outside of work that will help her grow.
She meets Georgina at the hospital, who has some regrets about her life as it’s coming close to the end of hers. After some convincing on Kelsey’s end, Georgina reluctantly agrees to a summer of yes. They take off on a road-trip without a route in mind, or so Georgina thinks. However, Kelsey’s plan is to reconnect Georgina with her ex-husband and son.
I enjoyed their journey throughout the summer, as Georgina connected with her family again. Although the storyline felt a bit predictable, I still had a fun (and sometimes emotional) time getting there. I can’t believe I haven’t read any other books from this author, but I can’t wait to read more!

The Summer of Yes is THE feel-good book of the summer! A thirty-something workaholic and a seventy-something terminally ill businesswoman meet in a hospital room and some time later find themselves on the road trip of their lives.
I loved the dual points of view, I loved all the characters, and I loved the Ferris Bueller references. Also, a certain scene involving a Shirley Temple, a straw, and a paper umbrella had me laughing so hard I almost peed my pants 🤣
What a wonderful ride!

One of the best of 2024! Kelsey Worthington, a frustrated assistant editor who wants to be a writer, ends up sharing a hospital room with legendary cosmetics mogul Georgiana Tate. Kelsey quickly realizes that beneath her salty, successful exterior, Georgiana is a sad woman plagued with regrets. Kelsey also surmises that she is on the way to becoming just like her. Determined not to let that happen, Kelsey inserts herself into Georgiana's life and creates the "Summer of Yes." The only rule is that the women must say yes to invitations and adventures (within reason) as they arise, giving them the chance to conquer fears and try new things. What starts as a philosophical whim becomes something much deeper for both of them, leading to redemptions and reconnections that will save both their lives in more ways than one.
The endearing characters, the wise yet witty writing, and an unforgettable journey made this a fantastic read. I've read several books by Courtney Walsh and this is a stand-out favorite. I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended!!

The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh was such a fun summer read. It was a light-hearted, delightful story of going outside your comfort zone, the power of forgiveness, new beginnings, friendship, and love.

Two women on the same path. One at the beginning and one at the end. Both in the hospital, both needing no one and yet this is the start of the beginning. Kelsey Worthington is an assistant editor at a publishing house. She works all the time and has no time for friends or family. Georgiana Tate has her own company that she built from the ground up. That's left her no time for anyone. So begins the Summer of Yes. Yes to things that take you out of your comfort zone. Yes to reconnecting with your friends and family for Kelsey. Yes for Georgiana to find the courage to reunite with her husband and son. Not all is smooth sailing. In the storms of life, these two women have found their anchors. "I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

I loved following Kelsey and Georgina on their summer adventures trying new experiences. Georgina was such a boss and a powerhouse in business that I found her story inspiring but Kelsey was the character I found myself relating to more. Both perspectives gave me things to think about. The themes of family, being brave, exploring outside your comfort zone, and love were so engaging and really made me reflect on my own life. This is a beautiful and touching story, I will be thinking about it for a long time to come! Thanks to Courtney Walsh, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is such a fun read. Kelsey and Georgia are magical together. They are the definition of ying/yang. I love watching their individual stories unfold, but also come together. This is a fun/easy read that would be a nice pool side read.

This book was uplifting, hilarious, and stopped to make me think. It was a cute book with a strong overarching message.
It’s not often that a book makes me laugh out loud - but Georgina was just so funny. Her sarcasm and blunt nature was shining through, and she had some amazing, off-the-wall quotes. The journey of her opening up and showing any vulnerability to those around her was well done.
Kelsey’s story was also fun to see. Though she may have focused on Georgina, she, in the background, made an effort to work on projects that she enjoyed. Her own personal growth was more subtle, to me, but I enjoyed seeing her take a stance in the end.
Overall, this was just a great story. I loved reading it, and didn’t want it to end! I really can’t wait to check out some more novels by this author.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, received from the publisher and author through NetGalley. However, all thoughts and views reflected are strictly my own opinions.
