This book was such a feel good experience. It showed the power and joy that comes with saying yes to things that you never have, and the fear and intensity that kept you saying no. I loved reading everyone’s relationships with one another. So much growth happened within these pages that was beautiful to see. I loved how much hope the book held, and the way it came to life and resonated with me in such a deep and personal way!

What a story! Encouraging and uplifting!
I laughed a little, cried a few tears, and found myself thoroughly engrossed in this beautiful story.
Kelsey doesn't know how to say yes - she's afraid, and she has been driven with work.
A close call causes her to re-evaluate, and try to figure out what really matters in life.
Spending time with the ones we love comes out on top, and I found it highly entertaining to watch her take this new direction in her life.

I was looking forward to reading this book. A summer of yes sounds really wonderful. Unfortunately, I did not like this at all. The writing was really uneven and I didn’t think the characters had very distinctive voices.

Unfortunately I couldn't finish reading this because the ebook I received had a weird formatation problem and it really stressed me out to keep reading it. I tried reaching out to see if I could get another copy but I wasn't sucessfull. Once the book is oficially out, I'll be giving it a proper review since I really enjoyed the author's previous work and the synopsis really interested me. Also the cover is really beautiful.

I just reviewed The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh. #TheSummerofYes #NetGalley
[NetGalley URL]
It was cute book about a girl named Kelsey and Georgia Worthington. They took a summer and said yes about it. It was about taking risk and falling in love.

This book unfortunately just wasn't what I expected. I tried for several weeks, but I just couldn't get into it. There was too much "fix myself" stuff for me.

I can see this being on many readers’ beach read list. Easy to read with a touch of humor but some deeper thought provoking threads as well. There were definitely character reactions that were unbelievable, but this is a piece of fiction.

Thank you NatGalley, Courtney Walsh and Thomas Nelson Fiction for this ARC. If you are looking for a great summer read, then say Yes to this book! This is such a sweet, uplifting story that will make you think deeply about things in life, your choices, priorities, and how we live this one wild, wonderful life we’ve been given. This was a clean story with some deep themes, but also great, witty banter. It will have you feeling all the feels.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and Netgalley for this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Kelsey is an editor who never goes out of her comfort zone. Her relationships are safe, her existence is stable, but after an accident, she has desires to change her life in big ways.

While in the hospital, she meets an inspiring business woman named Georgina Tate. Georgina mainly valued her career and success, not minding leaving her husband and son behind. With kidney failure and only a few months to live, she regrets neglecting her family. Kelsey is inspired by Georgina's success and regrets, and the Summer of Yes is born.

The two set off on adventures they have never done, and what might be waiting out there for them if they simply open themselves up to it. Even possibly reuniting Georgina with her estranged family.

I would give this book a 3.25 star rating out of 5 stars. I really liked Courtney Walsh's writing, and enjoyed the fast-paced nature of the book. I liked the characters, and the fun adventures they went on. At some points, I was a little bored. I loved the ending, and was really happy to see these characters get everything they want. If you are looking for a fun, emotional, inspiring summer read, The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh is the perfect pick.

The book comes out on July 2nd.

A young woman changes her attitude toward life and love when she decides to say "yes" to opportunities instead of always saying "no" and missing out.

The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh is a great beach read and makes you wonder, what if you really did spend more time saying yes to the opportunities that life throws at you? How would your life change and what would you learn, both about yourself and the world? Thank you to the author publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

This is my second book by this author. I do like her writing and enjoy her quirky characters, but in both my experiences, her books are not Christian fiction. They are clean but posses no faith and have some new age type elements. Despite those things, they are still a good read. This one especially. It hit me right in the feels. The romance, the regret, the forgiveness.....right in the gut. I laughed, I cried, and cried again. So good. ♥️ Thank you, NetGalley and Thomas Nelson, for the opportunity to read and review this advanced copy.

I really enjoyed this one, it's not a easy going rom-com where you're just there for a ride, this books makes you think.

Sometimes the only thing you need to do is say YES.
Kelsey, junior editor, has often, indeed, always put aside her desires, her friendships and love, to have a great career, even if it's not exactly what she wants.
She spent her life saying no, in order to achieve her goals, until the day of the accident.
Kelsey, in the hospital, meets Georgina, the latter is a successful woman, accomplished in her career, who lives in NY. Ambition is that
that they have in common, but Kelsey she sees her future self in Georgina.
She begins to make friends with Georgina and begins to ask her if all the sacrifices, all the No, have been useful, if Georgina feels fulfilled. So, after many more or less profound chats, Kelsey decides to turn her life around, and puts The Yes Plan into action.
She thus convinces Georgina to accompany her on this emotional roller-coaster journey, and the two find themselves closer than ever.
This is a story about friendship, about optimism and about learning not to always say No, and that it's good to take some risks.
Thank you NetGalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and Courtney Walsh for providing me this ARC.

FIVE FREAKING STARS

This was pure magic and utter perfection!!! I have enjoyed Courtney's books in the past, but this was something so incredibly special and in my opinion, in a league of its own!

I highlighted so many sections of this book, and I felt like this was written just for me?! Isn't that always the best feeling? This had major life lessons, wrapped in a sweet, fun, easy to read romcom, but with major depth and even some grit.

Georgina was tough, Kelcy was tougher, wrapped in a sweet package with a newfound outlook on life thanks to a near death experience. Thus begins the Summer of Yes and oh what joy trailed behind these ladies in their convertible. Just pick this up, go in blind, prepare to ache from smiling so hard and cry at the end from the most perfect wrap up to a story. I loved it. I wish it never had to end!

This is THE book of summer 2024. I absolutely loved this book and hated that I had to put it down for dealing with other things on my life. Thank you Courtney. You created great characters!

The Summer of Yes is a rom-com about Kelsey, a woman who’s living an empty life but doesn’t realize it until a near-death experience makes her re-evaluate everything. Meeting Georgina, an older, very wealthy, very cantankerous woman in the unlikeliest of places sets them both on a path of change.

Overall, this is a cute book and the dynamic between Kelsey and Georgina was well written. There were times I had a hard time believing Kelsey would continue to stick around, but pushing that doubt aside, their interactions worked really well for me.

If you are looking for a spicy summer read, this isn’t the book for you, but if you want a clean, cute, summer rom-com, this will be a good book to pick up. It gravitates more towards friendship and juggling happiness, work, and family with some romance sprinkled in as well. This classifies as a perfect beach read.

The Summer of Yes is a thoroughly delightful story of friendship, family, and forgiveness. Kelsey Worthington is doing okay, but after being hit by a car, things change for her. While in the hospital, she meets Georgina Tate a successful businesswoman who is being treated for kidney failure. When Kelsey decides to embark on a summer of saying yes to new opportunities, she is determined to bring Georgina along for the ride. Georgina is not initially open to the idea, but Kelsey wears her down. Georgina's sarcastic comments and their banter are a lot of fun to read. Kelsey is a force throughout the story, pushing her way into Georgina's life. The friendship and connection that the two developed was heartwarming and inspiring. The story developed in a way that I was not expecting and that made for a entertaining read. While the story is primarily Womans Fiction, there is a nice romance element as well, and together provide a satisfying ending

Thank you, NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the advanced reader copy.

I really really loved this book. It’s such a feel good, make you smile and giggle kinda book that’s about changing your perspective and living life to the fullest. The romance as a subplot really hit hard in this book as well!! ❤️ This story reminded me that some of the best things in your life start as some of the most unexpected things. This story is a perfect summer read or even a book to get you out of a slump.

Out of context quote below……

“Don’t wait to love the people you love. We aren’t guaranteed a second chance, we’re only lucky enough to seize one when it comes.” 🥹❤️
