"If you learn nothing else from my life, learn this. Don't wait to love the people you love."

"And in my free time, I want to write stories that make me laugh. Romantic comedies that will make the world feel a little lighter because the world can be heavy and hard. I want to bring people joy."

“Getting hit by a car while walking on the sidewalk wasn’t on my to-do list today.” Kelsey awakens in the hospital after what could definitely be called her worst day ever. She’s frantic to get back to work as soon as possible, even with a concussion! Her hospital roommate is none other than the savvy business woman, Georgina Tate. While the two do not hit it off, they do see a bit of themselves in each other. Georgina put work first her entire life and now she has no visitors during her hospital stay. Kelsey is early in her career but already started to put her social life on the back burner, she also has no visitors after her near death experience. A plan is created, a summer of saying yes! To living a little after saying no to so many things in life ☀️

This book was very eye opening! A great read to give you a real perspective on your own life. Everyone should say yes more to things that bring you joy and happiness. I also I loved the grumpy/sunshine dynamic between Georgina and Kelsey.

“Life is good. And wonderful. And horrible, and beautiful, and messy, and everything all at once. And that is the beauty of it. It’s overwhelming, but it’s never boring. And it should be lived to the fullest”

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. The Summer of Yes will be published July 2nd.

I've read several Courtney Walsh books (all Christmas ones), and this one was my favorite. I loved the plot, and I loved how everything was woven together very well.
Walsh has a way of making me laugh while also touching my heart with her characters and stories. The main characters in this one are lovable and relatable. I saw myself in both Kelsey and Georgina.
I definitely recommend reading this book!

Courtney Walsh does it again!

Kelsey Worthington is a junior editor. She’s your classic workaholic- to the point that she has alienated most of the people in her life. Nothing about her life is excited- that is, until the accident. While in the hospital Kelsey meets an older woman, Georgina Tate. Georgina is a highly successful business woman. With only a few months left to live due to her failing kidneys, Georgina is forced to face her regrets head on. After her run-in with death, Kelsey also is facing her own regrets. So she decides to give herself a summer of yes. Kelsey is going to force herself to say yes to all the things she would normally say no to. And by some miracle she convinces Georgina to join her on this wild summer adventure of yes.

This story is about forgiveness, choosing what really matters in life, and love. This is one of those books that you will want to pick up and read again and again.

What a great read.....a feel-good story that really makes you stop and think about your own life. A story that follows an unlikely relationship that formed between 2 women you probably never would have put together. Kelsey and Georgie help each other discover a new lease on life, with an ending that brought a tear to my eye. Courtney Walsh does it again....a must read!

Walsh writes the best, most lovable characters. Even the grumpy ones! I love the overall message of saying “yes” to a full life that’s truly worth living. It is filled with hope, adventure, forgiveness, and second chances. It is uplifting, inspiring, and heartwarming. I love her books and this was another winner for me. Such a fun read!

"The Summer of Yes" is a delightful rom-com novel that offers a refreshing twist on the classic genre. It’s only April and this may be one of my favorite books of the year! Written by Courtney Walsh, this book will captivate readers with its memorable characters, clean storyline, and overall feel-good vibe.

The story is set in New York City and opens with workaholic Kelsey Worthington having a near-death experience. While she’s in the hospital recovering, she meets an older, successful business woman, Georgina. While chatting about their lives, through some fun banter and strong convincing, both Kelsey and Georgina realize there’s more to life than work and start off on an adventure of a summer of “yes.”
What sets "A Summer of Yes" apart is its clean and wholesome approach to fun and romance. The author skillfully avoids clichés and unnecessary drama, opting instead for genuine moments of laughter, heartwarming conversations, and tender gestures. In addition, the supporting cast of characters adds depth and charm to the story. This book is perfect for anyone in need of a feel-good escape!

If you’re looking for the perfect beach read this summer, look no further! This was such an adorable and binge worthy book! Courtney Walsh is an auto buy author for me. When I saw she had a new book coming out, I couldn’t wait to read it! This book was just the sweetest! I loved the concept of saying YES to more things, it made me take a step back and realize I need to do the same with my own life. I loved the banter between all the characters, the emotional conversations, the romance, all of it. This book will have you feeling all the emotions when reading it. I highly recommend adding this one to your TBR list, and reading it asap!

Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

The sweetest book by one of my favorite romance authors. This book was about second chances, finding joy, and learning to say "yes" to life! Mainly character-driven, this is a story about a witty older boss babe (she hates that phrase) and a younger editor who find themselves sharing a hospital room. Through sheer determination, Kelsey gets Georgina to agree to a summer of "yes"...all with the underlying intention of reconnecting Georgina with her family. Summer roadtrip, scenic views, friendships, clean romance, and no language; this book makes for the perfect summer romance.

“If you learn nothing else from my life, learn this. Don’t wait to love the people you love. We aren’t guaranteed a second chance-we’re not lucky enough to seize one when it comes.”

This is the 5th Courtney Walsh book I’ve read in the last few months and by far, my favorite. I loved the dual point of view, multigenerational female friendships, low angst, delightful story.

As someone who is often anxious to say yes to new experiences, I loved the story line of saying “YES”.

I appreciated the strong, career driven women who lead the narrative of the story in such an unlikely friendship.

Highly recommend!

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for this ARC!

The Summer of Yes was a thoughtful read about two women at different stages of their lives and how they come together to change the direction of their lives and the lives of those they love. Good character development, lovely prose. A thoroughly enjoyable story. Thank you for an advance copy.

It is a story about two women: one in a near-death experience and one on the verge of death.

Kelsey and Georgina are speaking to my soul — hitting home so hard. Kelsey's an editor at a publishing house in New York, a workaholic so that she'd put work over anything else in her life until she's been hit by a car, and almost died. Then, she realizes she's missed many things in her life, including her family, friends, and dreams. She stopped pursuing her dream to be a writer because others said she wasn't enough. One experience makes her question her whole life and the impact of Georgina Tate, a successful businesswoman she looks up to, counting down her days in the hospital.

She makes up a project called "A Summer of Yes," and the message is loud and clear: she will say yes to everything she's been neglecting in the previous years. Saying yes to adventure, saying yes to making time for her friends, and saying yes to being a writer. Then, she finds herself intrigued by Georgina's back story and her too-good-looking son, Hayden.

This heartwarming and intriguing novel beautifully captures the life struggles of these women, the cruelty of corporate life, and the hustle-and-bustle of the city that makes us miss out on the world around us. This is my first time reading a novel by Courtney Walsh, but it's definitely not going to be the last! I couldn't put it down, and it made me tear up at times and smile like a fool, too! I totally loved it.

Oh, and it was a total cookie point that Kelsey had a boy best friend who was totally supportive, normal, and had no potential of turning into a lover.

Thanks to the author and the publisher for providing me with an ARC!

I loved this book so much! Finally a modern current read with issues prevalent to my life that I can recommend to absolutely anyone.

Kelsey Worthington is a rising editor of a publishing company who is becoming a workaholic as she is trying to climb the corporate ladder. Walking on the sidewalk one day, she is hit by a car. While recovering in a hospital room, she discovers her roommate is Georgina Tate, a famously successful business tycoon. When neither patient has a visitor besides employees, Kelsey poses the question “Is the obsessive work habits and wealth worth it?” When Georgina cannot answer, this begins the “Summer of Yes”, when they both make a pact to say “yes” to events and plans that they would usually so “no” to.

This was a delightful novel that was light and fun but also made the me, the reader, reflect on what am I saying “no” to or sometimes “yes” and am I prioritizing work over relationships? This was surprisingly a wonderful book of regret and forgiveness. Thank you Thomas Nelson Publishing and Net Galley for this very enjoyable and touching advanced reader copy. I will highly recommend all of my book friends to read this fantastic book. #TheSummerOfYes #NetGalley

I absolutely adored this book. It definitely gave me some Devil Wears Prada vibes, with the powerful businesswoman and the girl who’s trying to get herself heard and seen in the corporate world. Their unlikely friendship and alliance was wonderful to read as it unfolded, with Georgina learning some very important lessons and Kelsey finding her voice. I also felt inspired by this book to want to say yes to more things in life (within reason of course!) and take more chances and experience more things.
Loved this book; Can’t wait to put a copy on my shelf and see what else Courtney comes out with!

This book right here.. whew! I can't even find the words...

I laughed.
I cried.
I was shocked.
I was heartbroken.
I felt the love.
And most of all... it was an *awakening*.

This will make you think deeply about things in your life.. your choices, priorities, and how you live this short time we're all given on this beautiful planet. It truly made me want to live the Summer Of Yes year round. I'm going to do more things I put off, refuse to do out of fear, and things I haven't tried because of this book... but more importantly, I'm going to live with light and show my love to those I love around me even more. As we never know how short or long we may have left, we're all dying. Wonderful summer or beach read, but impeccable book that can be read year round. There are so many great things to take away from this. It's a must-read!!

I received this book from NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction to read/review. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.
